Booking guest must be 25 or older. When requesting a booking please let host know what state you are from and what brings you to the area. Confirm you will not bring a pet of any kind and that none in your party will be smoking or vaping *inside or outside* during your stay.
Children are currently allowed but the house and property are NOT infant, toddler or child proof and guest assumes all liability. Due to allergy concerns no pets are allowed. Maximum number of nights allowed to book in a row is six unless exception is made prior to booking. Maximum number of guest is 6.
To enhance safety and security, we require a copy of each guest drivers license at check in. (front only of license) This can be a photo copy you bring, or you can send copy through app, or a screen shot will be taken by property manager. If this information is not provided then the reservation will have to be cancelled. This step is to help reduce the risk of fraudulent bookings and only those adults are allowed on property during rental period. Do not enter property until you have set up an estimated arrival time with property manager.
Property manager will meet you at property upon arrival to answer any additional questions, take a screen shot of licenses if necessary and give you a personalized key code. This will only take 5 minutes. Do not enter property until you have set up an estimated arrival time, at your convenience, with property manager who will reach out to you through app for an ETA the afternoon of your arrival. You must arrive sometime between 4-8 pm or your reservation will be canceled.
We hope you can come experience the “mountain feel” this property has to offer!! Our clean and cozy home is newly remodeled with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms with a walk in shower and bathtub. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and two twin beds in both spare rooms. In addition to living room and porch room AC units, each bedroom has a separate AC window unit during summer months.
You would be renting the house, back deck, front porch and yard.
The back of the property, past the deck, and wooded areas around the house are NOT part of this rental.
Children will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times, regardless of their age, while outside or inside for liability reasons. If you see a bear please do not approach it.
Tidy, respectful work crews are also welcome.
This peaceful property backs up to over 70,000 acres of state park land.
We offer free Wifi and a large screen TV in living room.
We are conveniently located in north east Cumberland, MD, 4 miles from Interstate 68, restaurants and shopping.
Rocky Gap Resort, Casino, and Golf is 7 miles away; where you can enjoy swimming, walking, biking and kayaking around Lake Habeeb.
Lake Gordon and Lake Koon are only 3 miles from property where you can fish, hike and kayak.
Our property is only an 8 mile drive to The C & O Canal Towpath which is a popular recreational trail that runs 184.5 miles to Georgetown.
Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail, a popular hiking and biking path that ends in Cumberland, Maryland is only 8 miles away from rental house. The Cumberland Gap itself is a natural passage through the Appalachian Mountains that served as a crucial historical route for animals, Native Americans, and settlers.
The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is only 8 miles away and offers various types of fun train rides for the young and old.
Do to possible allergy concerns of those renting after you we DO NOT allow cigarette, cigar or weed smoking or vaping anywhere on the property; *inside or outside*. Parties and family reunions are not allowed on property at this time, and for this reason, we prefer guest who are traveling through the area and not locals.
Pictures of house condition are taken before each guest arrives. Guest will be asked to pay for any damage they cause to property during their stay.
For your safety, outdoor security cameras are in use at entryways on property.
If you need to bring more than two vehicles during your stay, please request permission before you book.
Please no charging of vehicles from house electric at any time, for any reason or the use of power tools.
Quiet hours are from dusk to dawn. Guest are not allowed to operate ATV's or dirt bikes on property. Drugs and intoxication will not be tolerated.
All linens and towels are washed in free and clear detergents which are unscented and hypoallergenic.
The kitchen is fully stocked with new appliances and cookware should you wish to make your meals.
A reverse osmosis water system has also been installed.
To avoid toxin exposure, our new comfortable furniture is not coated with stain resistant spray, therefore, we request all eating be done at tables.
Please note that concierge services are not offered during your stay. Chris Clean Laundry is a clean state of the art facility and is only 10 miles from house should you need it.
When cooking we kindly ask guest to turn on stove range hood fan, ceiling fan in kitchen so spices and smells will diminish quickly in the house. This helps house to remain neutral in smell for guest renting after you.
A grill is on the back deck for you to enjoy. Please turn propane off after each use.
Park near the sign that says house parking and please do not block driveway you entered on.
Guest are not allowed to change door locks or touch security cameras during their stay.
Caretakers frequent property and may enter basement to tend to woodstove, storage or utilities if needed. Basement of house is not part of this rental and is locked from main floor of house.
Capable help is close by should you need it, just reach out through the app.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when booking a winter wonderland adventure to our place during the snowy months:
-the state highway does a good job keeping Interstate 68 and Route 220 pretty clear during snow
-our gravel driveway will be plowed before and during your stay if there is snow
-4 wheel drive is probably needed at entrance of property if snow is on the ground
-if your shoes/boots are muddy, wet or snowy please remove them on front porch or just inside the door so we can keep house tidy for all
