Esta acogedora casa de 4 dormitorios y 2 baños se encuentra en la cima de una colina en 3 acres en el tranquilo pueblo de Wells River, VT (población ~ 500) a lo largo de la frontera de New Hampshire y parte del área del norte del Reino de Vermont. Rodeado por la naturaleza y el río Connecticut, encontrará rápidamente el hogar y el área relajantes. Este es un lugar perfecto para aquellos que buscan disfrutar de la temporada de follaje de otoño en el otoño, así como actividades de agua dulce en el verano y actividades de nieve en el invierno.


Recientemente renovamos esta casa de 2 pisos que fue construida en la década de 1920. Las características de la casa y la cocina actualizada con electrodomésticos nuevos, encimeras de granito y pisos de madera noble en todas partes. El resto de la planta principal incluye un comedor formal y 2 salas de estar con televisores y chimeneas que se abren a un porche proyectado que es perfecto para disfrutar de la naturaleza mientras se toma un café o un vino. También en el piso principal hay 2 dormitorios cada uno con camas queen size y 1 baño completo.

Arriba hay 2 dormitorios adicionales, el primero con una cama nido doble que se puede utilizar como 2 camas individuales o juntas para hacer una cama king size. Al final del pasillo, hay un dormitorio adicional con una cama queen size y otro 1 baño completo.

Cada baño tiene bañeras con patas que fueron originales del hogar y perfectas para sumergirse. Si no te gustan los baños, no te preocupes, ¡las bañeras también incluyen una ducha de pie o una manguera fuera de los niños en el frente!

En el sótano, hay una lavadora y secadora, y los inquilinos tienen acceso a equipos como tubos, carpas y equipos deportivos.

Afuera disfrute de la fogata, los columpios de los árboles, la mesa de picnic o juegue bádminton. Para aquellos que buscan disfrutar aún más de la naturaleza, siéntanse libres de usar los colchones de aire y dormir en el porche o instalar la carpa en cualquier lugar de la propiedad de 3 acres.

En un día típico, verás ardillas listadas, una variedad de pájaros y ciervos en la propiedad. Ocasionalmente, puedes espiar a un zorro o alce también.

Rustic and clean 100yo home was great. Big spaces, full kitchen, comfortable beds, good water pressure, tasty apples on the tree in the yard, huge fire pit and awesome screened front porch. Only 2 bathrooms but it's enough to be able to stay in such a cool house.

The house is located on a quiet side road, no through traffic so very peaceful., The property is very large with ample space. The extensive garden allows sitting in sun or shade, as you wish, at any time of day. It is surrounded by huge, mature mixed growth trees. A mother deer and her two young ones came to clear up the fallen apples in the morning and evening. Beautiful to watch them. House was very clean with comfortable furniture and modern appliances. It is a short walk to shops and restaurants in Wells River (Vermont side) or across a bridge over the river in Woodsville (New Hampshire side). There are many trails within a short distance, along the river or up in the hills. The White Mountains to the East offer many hiking possibilities in the State Parks. The small towns in the vicinity such as St. Johnsbury are well worth a visit. See Bierstadt’s immense “Dome of the Yosemite” in the Atheneum there.Allison responded promptly to all communications. The check in instructions and welcome info were clear and helpful. We really enjoyed the stay. (If you like burgers, we recommend Sarkeys’s in Wells River. Hand made and cooked to order, probably the best we have eaten! They have many other food choices, and a nice saloon.)

House is clean and quiet, there is tons to do in the area (check out the nearby by Big Eddy swimming hole under the swift water covered bridge!). Everything about the stay was simple, no-fuss, and easy.

Beautiful property

We had a great stay at this property. So many thoughtful details to make our stay memorable. The kitchen was very well equipped—it even included a crockpot. The house was in a great central location and we found many things to keep us busy. Communication with Allison was great. She quickly answered any question that we had. We would definitely return! Great Place!!

Nice quiet stay

House was very spacious and safe with a large yard for kids to play. Kitchen had plenty of dinnerware, cookware, and even some cooking oils and spices. A small amount of basic consumables (toilet paper, coffee pods, hand soap) were supplied. The furniture was a bit old, and the house could use some deeper cleaning (windows etc), but overall it was a nice stay.

wedding weekend

Friends were getting married in Groton VT Labor Day weekend, so a group of us rented the house to have plenty of space to get ready beforehand and to relax afterwards. The house is comfortable and roomy and there is plenty of parking. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessary items. The screened front porch and around the firepit were fave hangout spots. There is a WalMart nearby (in NH) for quick trips to get supplies. A few notes: Extra sheets and blankets were hard to find. The clawfoot tubs are lovely but the plugs were not useful if you wanted a bath. The full TV/remote control instructions are only in the welcome packet in the kitchen -- would be useful to have them with each TV as well.

Great Location / Needs Updating and Decluttering

Great location if you're stay in this part of Vermont/ New Hampshire. The town itself has limited food and retail options. I'd opt for accommodations in nearby Littleton, NH if you prefer to eat out. The kitchen was up-to-date but the rest of the house has old appliances, an abundance of personal items, creaky beds, small showers, and furniture draped in blankets. Instead of the charming country house vibe I expected, it feels cluttered. There are countless delicate personal items spread around the dining and living areas. Bedrooms lack side tables, reading lamps, and updated bedding. The sheets and pillows were quite old. Despite my critiques, it's clear that the hosts care deeply about this house and its history. It's full of their memories and they treat it like a museum. Perhaps they should think more about the guest experience. That being said there are limited options in this area so upgrades may not be worth their investment and for many travelers the price is right.

Birthday Celebration

The property was very nice and clean. The driveway and stairs into the house were icy and there wasn't any salt or sand to put down. all the applications are new and good working order. The family would like to rent the house again in the summer.

Better than photos, spacious and clean

We were impressed with the size and cleanliness of the home, we had space for everyone. We could have used a few more blankets but it was below zero overnight. Plenty of towels and chairs & convenient location

Wells River house

This is a wonderful rental! a quaint antique house that is nonetheless perfectly equipped for modern living. The updated kitchen has plenty of storage and counter space, which makes it easy to prepare food for large groups. The beds are comfortable, and the house is set up so that a large group can gather together, or sit in small groups in two living rooms, a dining room and the kitchen as well as the AMAZING screened porch. We spent a lot of time outside around the fire pit, or playing in the huge yard. The house is on a very winding, narrow road, and drivers have to be very careful coming and going, but there is very little travel on the road, so we never had a problem. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants peace, quiet, and LOTS of space to play!

Had a great time here but…

The location of this property was perfect. It was a beautifully kept property, and it was an easy walk to a great sandy beach on the Connecticut river. Stores and restaurants were close by, but the property still felt private and secluded. We enjoyed several evenings around the fire pit. There are some things I think renters should know before they go, however. There is a Keurig coffee maker, but no coffee K-cups were provided. Also, we were a party of six people staying for a week and there was only one spare roll of toilet paper supplied for each bathroom. There was not an extra roll of paper towels either. There was one partial roll of paper towels provided in the kitchen but no spares. I can understand that the owners might not want to supply these essentials, but what seemed especially odd was that there was not a single extra trash bag for the trash can. We were supplied one small kitchen sized trash bag….. for six people… for a week. I found this particularly bizarre. We purchased extra toilet paper and a box of garbage bags and left them to help out the next guests, but it seems odd that we had to that. The kitchen cabinets were also very cluttered and disorganized, but we were able to find things that we needed to cook meals. We did enjoy our time here very much, but I do feel that the house could be much better set up for guests. All that said, I would rent here again because of the location and the property.

This was my grandparent's home when they retired in the 1970's. I remember going up there as a child to visit and feeling a sense of magic and charm with the home and nature. I purchased the home in January 2012 and have renovated it to bring out it's beauty once again.

The home and area are very charming and bring you back to the sense of simpler times. With the many rivers, mountains, trees, and nature all around, it's easy to sit back and enjoy. I'm also the adventurous type and found the home perfectly located to access nature's adventures like river tubing, swimming, and hiking, as well as being close to more modern adventures like zip lining, atv riding, and amusement parks. Coming from the south? Stop at Queechee Gorge just 45 minutes south to see amazing views, stock up on Cabot Cheese, feed the alpacas and much more.

Enjoy the home all year round with swimming and other fun summer activities, foliage viewing during the fall, skiing and ice skating in the winter, and flowers blooming in the spring.
