The Space:
✦ This clean, 1576 Square foot home was newly constructed in 2024 and offers easy
access to all parts of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Located in the
Village of Empire, Michigan, Coho Cottage has been professionally decorated and
offers the perfect blend of charm and modern comfort. Our prime location means you’re
only minutes away from Empire Beach, Empire Bluff Trail, salmon fishing, and wine
tasting, hiking the dunes, biking the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, nighttime fires on
Lake Michigan and fantastic dark skies for star gazing. At the end of an action-packed
day, come home and relax in our Air conditioned home glowing with natural light from
31 windows and skylights. Coho Cottage was uniquely designed by the renowned
architect, Ross Chapin.

bedded room also with a large closet and skylight. Two full bathrooms offer sleek
granite countertops, walk-in showers, and fresh, modern finishes for a spa-like
experience. All bedrooms include blinds

Relax in the inviting living room, which features plush seating, a gas fireplace, and a 55”
Smart TV. For children and adults alike, there is a separate study/TV room with a
second 55” Smart TV and a cozy sectional—ideal for quiet reading or movie nights with
the family.
✦ Outdoor & Extra Features:
- Large Covered Front Porch with Adirondack chairs is the perfect spot for morning
coffee or evening wine or just relaxing our quiet neighborhood.
- Spacious Backyard: Complete with a picnic table for six, Adirondack chairs and
naturalized landscaping. Our dark skies make the patio perfect for star gazing.
- We provide up to 6 beach chairs and a wagon to help you transport everything you
need for a fun day at the beach! Please bring your own beach towels.
- Private Parking: Space for up to three vehicles on a designated parking pad.
Guest Access:
Guest access
★ Keyless entry is located on the back door of house. Your unique access code will be
sent prior to check-in. For nighttime arrivals, please have a light available in case the
motion sensing porch light has been turned off. This is a dark sky area.
Other Things to Note:
▶ Coho Cottage has free parking for up to 3 vehicles on our parking pad off the back.
All vehicles must be parked entirely on this pad and this pad alone. There is NO Street
parking allowed anywhere in our neighborhood. Please do not park on any grass.
▶ Unregistered guests are not allowed. Only those listed in the reservation may stay on the property. Violating this rule may lead to immediate cancellation of your reservation without a refund.
▶ Pets are not allowed.
▶ No parties. Coho Cottage is located in a quiet and charming neighborhood; significant
noise of any kind after 9:00 pm will result in you being asked to leave without a refund
for the remaining time of your reservation.
▶ No smoking of any substance including e-cigarettes is permitted in the unit. Evidence of any type of smoking will result in a $500 fee, and you will be asked to leave without a
refund for the remaining time of your reservation.
▶ Check-in is at/after 4 pm and check-out time is no later than 11 am. Early check-in or
late check-out is subject to availability. Late check-out without prior approval will result
in a fee of $100 per hour for each hour after 11 am.
▶ During check-in, you will find towels, linens, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toilet
paper provided for your convenience. Please note that we do not provide additional
supplies during your stay, so we recommend planning accordingly.
▶ Please note that moving furniture is not permitted. Violation of this rule can result in a
penalty in the amount of $250.
▶ TRASH: Please ensure all trash is placed INSIDE the trash bin located in the shed.
Sleeping Bear Disposal will come to the house every Tuesday, usually in the morning to
take out the trash bin, empty it and return it to the shed so you don’t have to.
▶ Do not flush paper towels, wipes, trash, or feminine products down the toilet. Please
note: We have a septic tank and this is an environmentally sensitive area. Please use
the sanitary bags and trash bins instead. If it is found that something has been flushed
and clogged the septic system, you could be charged damages.
▶ No fireworks.
▶ No fish cleaning of any kind is permitted on property.
