The listing was not accurate. The host failed to disclose that they live on the property. This is in spite of the fact that VRBO advertises as being a place to stay without a host. This was the whole point behind choosing vrbo. We didn't find out until we arrived. The listing advertises 3 bedrooms, but does not advertise that you need to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the third bedroom. I was staying with friends and this was very inconvenient. The temperature in the vrbo was uncomfortable. It was too hot and we had no way to control the temperature. The ceiling fan in one bedroom did not work and a standing fan in the other room was broken and did not work. I received zero check in instructions from vrbo and the host. I arrived late and had to wake up the host to get in. This was unprofessional in my opinion and made me uncomfortable. The checkout instructions said to take the trash out, but I could not locate the bin to take it out. In addition, the host messaged me during the stay that we were being too loud during "quiet hours" even though we were only watching a movie. We were not being obnoxiously loud. In accordance with receiving zero check in instructions, we received nothing about any quiet hours or rules. There shouldnt be any quiet hours nonsense because we booked the vrbo under the assumption that there would be no host. Also, during the stay, the host confronted us angrily and accused us of smoking even though none of us smoked. Hotels only now.

Misleading, Uncomfortable, and Unsanitary – Avoid This Rental

Do not be fooled by the listing. This apartment was advertised as air-conditioned, but in reality, it only had a few struggling window and portable units. One bedroom had no AC at all, and during a 100 degree heatwave, it was unbearably and dangerously hot—totally unfit for sleeping. The room also smelled like cigars, despite the listing claiming a no-smoking policy.When we opened the pull-out couch so our children could sleep in the living room (since their room was too hot), we found cheeseballs in the cushions—an obvious sign the property was not cleaned properly. The bathroom sink also released gray water when first turned on.I contacted the host during our stay and received a dismissive response with zero attempt to make it right. We contacted VRBO after checkout, only to be told the host controls refunds—even when listings are misleading and unsafe.We left early, disappointed, and extremely uncomfortable. This place does not match what is advertised, and the host takes no accountability for the conditions. Rent somewhere else.
