Hillside Hideaway - A Hatfield McCoy Rider Retreat

Come stay at ‘Hillside Hideaway” located in Herndon, WV. Our place is easily accessible to trucks with trailers, no hilly, winding backroads. The house is located approximately one mile from an access point to the Hatfield McCoy Trail System so you can ride your ATV or Side-by-Side to Hatfield McCoy and Outlaw trails directly from the house. Outlaw Trails are only a few seconds down the road and you can be on Hatfield McCoy's Pinnacle Creek and Indian Ridge trails in less than 5 minutes (Trail 36 Pinnacle Creek/Indian Ridge connector or Trail 11 Pinnacle Creek trailhead) Then travel over to Pocahontas and Warrior trails from there.

We offer a large parking area that will fit up to 5 trucks and trailers next to the house. The exterior of the home, including the parking area, has security cameras.

Our newly renovated trail house sleeps up to 13 people and has central air and heat. We have 5 bedrooms (8 beds, no bunks, twins are XL). Each room has its own smart TV. Linens, extra blankets, and pillows are provided. The largest bedroom has its own bathroom attached and a television with a Fire TV stick. There are two full bathrooms. Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, TP and Towels are provided. You will also find a large eat-in kitchen with full-size appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, crock pot and coffee maker. Coffee creamer, sugar, trash bags, dishwashing soap/pods and paper products are provided. The cabinets are fully stocked with all the plates, glasses, pots, bowls, utensils, etc., that you should need to prepare a meal for a large group. The living room has a comfy leather sofa and loveseat with a second dining area and a 65" Smart TV with over 200 free channels, or sign into your own streaming accounts! Our laundry room has 2 washing machines and 2 dryers (detergent provided). We also have two areas with plenty of hooks and shelving to hold your shoes, helmets, etc. There are two decks with chairs, a charcoal grill, a blackstone grill, and a picnic table. You will find a large carport pavilion with tables and chairs to relax after a long day of riding (perfect in case of inclement weather). There's also a firepit in the yard for those chilly nights!

About 5 miles up the road you will find Bud Ez-Stop, which is a trail permit retailer, has ready-made food, made-to-order food, groceries, fuel etc. Ziggy's powersports, Riders Paradise Restaurant and Outlaw Bar and Grill are approx. 8 miles away.
Mullens is about 12 miles away and has multiple ATV friendly restaurants and stores. ATVs are permitted on all roads for up to 20 miles. We are approximately 24 miles from Winterplace Resort for skiing and snow tubing.
