Casa do Canto is a comfortable and big house, ideal for a big family. (2 - 9 people) We are located in a small and quiet parish called Candelária, in the wonderful Island of São Miguel, Azores.

Recognized by our hospitality and friendly welcomed, we make you and your family feel at home.

Everyone loves its vast garden to relax, play, sunbathing, and enjoy the green mountains and marvelous blue ocean.
The terrace is the perfect place to enjoy your meals surrounding by nature.

The sunset and the stars are the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing and wonderful night at Casa do Canto.

To make your stay in our island even more special we are always ready to give you the best advices and tips, to ensure you don’t miss that wonderful and secret place!

Whether you are at Casa do Canto or Casa Criptoméria, every morning you’re able to have fresh bread when you wake up.

Casa do Canto offers you the comfort you look when you're travelling. It has a classical furniture and it's provided with 4 bedrooms (one of them is 35 square meters); 2 bathrooms (one with a bathtub and another with a shower); a special living room ideal to relax and read a book in a quiet ambience; a kitchen prepared with all utensils you need to cook and eat and a dining and living room with comfortable seats and a tv. The house has free wireless internet so you can share with your friends and family your unforgettable holidays at the Azores.

Casa do Canto has also a large and green garden full of flowers and trees to make you relax and feel the nature even when you are at home.
It has a covered patio where you can comfortably enjoy your meals seeing the ocean and the mountains around.
Its garden with 3500 square meters is ideal to play with your kids and friends but also to sunbathing.
You can enjoy the nature that surrounds you and appreciate the marvellous sunset while you're cooking the dinner in the barbecue.
It's very nice and cosy to spend the night outside in the garden, watching the stars and the moon and hearing the special sound of nature.
Casa do Canto has also a private car parking.

Great stay in Candelaria

Overall, a very fun 5 days we had and could have very easily stayed much longer. Highly suggest taking Sergio’s buggie tour it was very beautiful and saved us lots of time to see the main attractions of the island. It was an outstanding time we had and there’s so much to do and see and our hosts were more than helpful in assisting us to navigate all of the different activities.

Nice stay in Candelaria

We enjoyed our vacation a lot. The house was big enough for our company of 6. Beautiful garden; it was often raining, but when it wasn’t we could enjoy being outside. Sergio provided us with useful tips about places to see, where to parks etc. Would definitely come back!

Wonderful house and welcoming host

What a great stay we had and such a warm host always available for us. We were welcome with groceries which was nice it was late already. Sergio took us in a ride in the mountains and even bought a gift for my daughter’s birthday. The situation of the house on the island is ideal, acces to the main sites is easy. I highly recommande

Perfect house for vacation

The property is simply perfect. The house was really clean and contained everything needed (literally everything). Two full bathrooms are really appreciated! The land is super pretty and the water views are magnificient. The owenrs, Maria and Sergio are really friendly people. Maria was available throughout our stay for any questions. They provided a map with recommandations and islander tips. They even provided some food to start us and it was so appreciated! We definitely recommend looking into their properties for a trip to the Azores archipelago.

A wonderful week at Casa Criptomeria!!!

We had a wonderful week at Casa Criptomeria. Sergio's reception was no problem even with a significant flight delay after midnight. The house was clean and everything is there. The garden is huge and well maintained! There are enough loungers with cushions and a grill. Sergio gave us many tips for trips and sights on Sao Miguel. The buggy ride around the crater Sete Citades was really very nice and exciting. In particular, the different insights into the wild landscape were beautiful. Dear Sergio and dear Maria, many thanks for everything and warm regards from Jena (Thuringia) from Thomas and Lena!!!!

Unforgettable Experience

Casa do Canto was beyond our expectations. To start off, Sergio and Maria greeted us with some local wine and some groceries. Their hospitality made us feel at home since day one. The house was perfect, exactly what we expected and enjoyed it a lot. Candelaria always had good weather in comparison to the rest of the island, so the pool and backyard came in handy to relax and enjoy the ocean view. Our stay at Casa do Canto was truly magnificent and we hope to be back. It is really a pleasure to be hosted by people who care as much as Sergio and Maria and that go the extra mile. Highly recommend this beautiful place in paradise!

A wonderful relaxing week

Where should we start? In one word: PERFECT! We had a very warm welcome by Sérgio, the house was super clean, the fridge was filled, the garden is beautiful, the view amazing. And, on top of this, we had an amazing Buggy-Tour with Sérgio. We can really recommend the house and the landlord by 110%! It's a great place to start tours to the whole wonderful island or just spend a day in the garden and enjoy the silence and nature. Best regards from Germany

Toller Urlaub auf Sao Miguel

Das Haus zeichnet sich besonders durch den wunderschönen und großen Garten mit toller Aussicht aus. Das Haus an sich ist geräumig, gut ausgestattet, wenn auch etwas alt und ein wenig dunkel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, vor allem auch dadurch dass Sergio und Maria sehr gastfreundlich und offen sind und immer für Tips und Hilfe bereit standen. Die Unterkunft ist auch gut gelegen, sodass man zu den vielen sehenswerten Spots auf der Insel schnell gelangen kann.

Excellent property

Our hosts greeted us with fresh bread, eggs, butter and more, it was a great welcome to this wonderful property. They had bath towels and beach towels for us. House is on a beautiful huge lot. Great location close to Sete cidade and 25 mins drive to Ponta Del Gada, 45 mins drive to Furnas. The drive is a beautiful windy road. Our hosts Maria and Serge were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Great family home!

The large yard was great for the kids, so was the pool. The home was roomy enough for the 8 of us and the rooms were very comfortable. Sergio and Maria were always friendly, helpful and great owners.

Unser Urlaub auf Sao Miguel

Großes Haus mit riesigem Garten in Ortsrandlage. Große Terrasse mit Pool. Extrem nette und aufmerksame Gastgeber, Maria und Sergio geben sich alle Mühe, damit es den Gästen gut geht. Haus und Garten sind sehr gepflegt. Küche und Wohnzimmer sind aufgrund der Möblierung etwas dunkel, aber wir haben auch nur wenig Zeit in den Innenräumen verbracht. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert, vorallem für mehrere Personen. Einziges Manko ist die aufgrund der ländlichen Lage bedingte Vielzahl von benachbarten Hunden, die ungehindert Tag und Nacht bellen, aber das haben wir überall auf der Insel beobachtet. Wen das nicht stört, der ist hier bestens aufgehoben.

Wundervoller Aufenthalt

Das Ferienhaus lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Betten sind bequem, die Bäder sind sauber das Grundstück mit der Aussicht auf das Meer einfach perfekt. Auch der Gastgeber Sergio und seine Frau Maria sind super freundlich. Ich kann dieses Domizil nur weiter empfehlen.

Very hospitable

We had a wonderful stay at Casa do Canto. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. On arrival Sergio told us what we had to see. He is very enthusiastic and proud of his living environment. He took the time to show us Sete Sidades. Besides the fact that the hostess, Maria, had baked delicious bread , it was also very easy that the baker placed the order on the fence in the morning. The house was spacious, the garden very large! We have seen a lot of the island, beautiful waterfalls, nice walks, whales, dolphins, nice beaches, tea and pineapple plantation, crater lakes and beautiful views! We definitely recommend a stay! Sergio and Maria, thank you for your hospitality!

Lovely place

Large comfortable house with a big (c.a. half a hectare) garden and beautiful view on the ocean. If Sao Miguel wouldn't be so beautiful, we could spend all days not moving from the Casa do Canto. And finally, but maybe most important, very hospitable hosts, living just around the corner, extemely helpful in any case

Super tolles Ferienhaus!

Schönes Haus mit allem, was man zum Urlaub braucht. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich. Küche und Bäder sind sehr gut ausgestattet. Es gibt reichlich Handtücher. Der Garten ist ein Traum, der Pool gepflegt. Ich kann dieses Haus nur empfehlen.

Fantastic peaceful retreat.

The house is in a quiet street with fabulous views of the ocean, a huge garden and refreshing pool. It is very well equipped (lots of towels, spare bedding, kitchen equipment) and everything is spotless. This property is great for families/groups with two double bedrooms and a twin room on the 1st floor. The extra room in the loft is spacious but might be too hot in the summer . The hosts were lovely , really helpful and spoke excellent English. The house is only 20 mins drive from the airport/Ponta Delgada/great shopping mall, and ideal for sight seeing around the west side of the island. You don't feel like you are in a tourist area but in your own little world! I would come back here without any hesitation.

Lovely property in a fantastic setting

This property is set high on a hill with amazing views of the ocean and surrounding countryside. The owners have thought of everything for a self catering holiday. We had a very warm welcome with the added bonus of a pack of groceries, bread, fruit and wine. Sergio told us just about all we needed to know about the island and pointed out all the important places to visit. The property was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable and the furnishings of a high standard The garden is very large and there is a covered veranda with table and chairs so that alfresco dining is not a problem even if it rains. A car is essential as we were about 15 minutes drive from Ponta Delgado for main supermarkets although there are some small one's in the local villages. Often at the end of a holiday you feel ready to go home but not this time. We had such a warm welcome and the island was so green and pretty that we could have stayed longer and I am sure we will be back. Many thanks to Maria and Sergio.

Lovely house

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa do Canto, the owners were very friendly and the house was well stocked with some food on arrival, toilet paper, shampoo etc which was much appreciated. The house is well equipped, the beds comfortable and there is even a washing machine. The children in particular enjoyed the swimming pool and large garden to run around in. The view from the house was amazing and we really enjoyed sitting out for dinner. Candelaria is a quiet village so a car would be recommended, there is parking on the property.

A wonderful week at Casa do Canto!

We have just returned from a very enjoyable week at this lovely house on the island of Sao Miguel. It was spotlessly clean and we found a most welcome selection of foods and fruit on our arrival. Sergio and Maria were so kind and helpful, and it was great to have English-speaking hosts to answer our questions and suggest places to go. The island offers plenty to do for a week's holiday and we had a marvellous time. I would thoroughly recommend Casa do Canto if you are looking for somewhere to stay, particularly if you have a large party. There is ample space in the house and very large garden - what more could you want?

lovely house with a beautiful garden

We stayed for a week in Casa do Canto. It is a lovely, spacey house with a beautiful garden. The house is decorated in a nice style. Everything you need is there. Sergio and Maria are very nice people, and very concerned about their guests. We really enjoyed our stay at Candelaria, and we will sure come back again

We just returned of casa do canto. The house is perfect. It's big, enough space for all of us. The children played soccer in de big, beautiful garden. The flowers are magnificant. The view was amazing. Every morning fresh bread was super. Sergio and Maria, the owners, will help you with information about the Island sao miquel. We hope to come back another time.

Perfect family-place

San Miquel is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We had an unforgettable time. Our stay at Casa do Canto was key. The villa was more comfortable that we expected. It was big and cosy, and the garden was tremendous. Our three children liked to go out with us (whale watching, swimming in the warm water pools, enjoying the flowers on the island, the amazing views wherever you go), but they wanted to go back to the house soon to play soccer or take a swim. They felt at home, very important for our youngest son who felt homesick for the first two days but thankfully regarded Casa do Canto more and more as the place he wanted to be. Every morning fresh bread, delivered by the local bakery, if you place your order in a plastic bag, attached to the fence. Every day fishermen come by to offer you freshly caught fish. The customer service has been excellent. The owners surprised us with delicious Portugese pastry. When we had a question, there was immediate response and help.
