Apartment: Tastefully decorated and fully equipped, the apartment offers everything for a comfortable stay for up to 6 people at any time of the year.

Relax and enjoy the views on one of the two balconies or take a stroll into the village to wander around the shops, restaurants and cafes. Samoëns remains unspoilt by ski lifts so to access the skiing, simply take the free ski bus outside the apartment to be taken to the new Grand Massif Express, 900m away.

In the summer, nature is on your doorstep with wonderful walks by the river Giffre or mountain bike trails directly accessible without the need of a car.

Samoens: Samoëns is officially recognised as one of France's prettiest villages and the only ski resort to be listed as a land of art and history. This year round resort forms part of the Grand Massif region with it's 265km of pistes, including Flaine, Morillon, Sixt Fer a Cheval and Les Carroz.

If you are looking for an alpine holiday in a village with genuine culture and life, then this is the place for you. Located within 1 hour's easy drive from Geneva, why go anywhere else.

The village is steeped in history which is symbolised by the Gros Tilleul - a large lime tree planted in 1438 in the square.

Samoens Ski Break

Fantastic time in a Samoens. Apartment was excellent. Spotlessly clean and in a great location close to the centre of Samoens and right on the blue line and Septitrain Ski Bus routes. Very helpful owner made the trip a breeze. Would highly recommend.

Appartement agrèable

L'appartement était comme décrit, ce qui n'est pas toujours la norme. Haut standing avec tout le luxe nécessaire pour passer de bonnes vacances. Le contact avec Mr Wilson était chaleureux et rapide. Si on passe encore une fois à Samoëns on séjournera dans cet appartement.

Skiing the Grand Massif

Skiing the Grand Massif Our goal for the vacation was to get as much skiing as possible. The apartment played an important role in that goal. The location was excellent for a number of reasons; access to the Blue ski bus for Grand Massif Telecabin – Pont de Clevieux stop 4 minutes walk or the Cinema stop 5 minutes walk. Also access to White ski bus for Morrillon Telecabin - Cinema stop 5 minutes walk. Access to the Sherpa supermarket – 5 minutes walk. Access to town for shops restaurants etc – 7-10 minutes walk. Access to ski hire – 5 minutes walk to Chalet Giffre. The apartment is clearly a family home and well-appointed with everything your need. The kitchen is simple but functional, well equipped with the necessary tools. The surprise was no conventional oven but a combi; microwave, grill & oven. But instructions allowed us to quickly adapt and we had excellent meals. Although we were five adults only having one bathroom and one toilet, usage was never an issue. Never without hot water. Lounge and dining area served the purpose adequately. Even used the balconies. The main bedroom was good, the second bedroom is compact for two adults. The last adult slept on the sofa bed in lounge. Couple of areas where the experience could be improved: Apartment Information Pack . I know there were links in emails, info laminates in the apartment and a pile of brochures, but having all the key info in one place would enhance the overall experience. It could contain; The info laminates Details of supermarkets Ski Hire Shops How to access the ski locker – need two keys Refuse area Restaurants / bars Ski bus timetables Etc The feedback on the sofa bed was; uncomfortable. Used mattress on floor rather than sofa bed frame. Having said that the experience was still 5 star. Would return.

Lovely apartment

This was our third stay in Samoens and we enjoyed another amazing week. The apartment was clean upon arrival and the directions/instructions for accessing the apartment were very clear. The kitchen was well stocked with basics and we just topped up anything that we used like porridge/washing powder/loo roll etc. The ski hire at Xtreme Glisses was just so easy with simple parking at the bottom of the ski lifts (or a 10 minute walk away) and hardly any queuing at all. The village of Samoens is so pretty and, with the apartment being only two minutes walk away from the central square, it meant that early morning trips to the boulangerie were an easy trip.

superbe appartement

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour dans cet appartement très bien situé (200m du centre du village, 200m de la navette de bus) ; spacieux, bien aménagé et décoré avec soin. Rien à redire non plus du côté des prestations, très complètes. Un merci également au propriétaire pour les échanges en français.

Nice Apartment in great location for skiing

We stayed in this apartment over the Christmas week and found it very nice with good facilities. It is in an apartment block with good access to town centre and more importantly if you are there in winter the skiing. Their is a ski hire shop 50 metres away with the lifts another 100 metres away. This makes it really easy every day to go to and from slopes with minimum fuss. You can leave your hire equipment in shop to dry out overnight. Town centre is very close with good shopping and selection of restaurants to choose from. We would certainly consider both this apartment and Samoens for another winter holiday.

Apartment very well equipped and maintained. Excellent location for enjoying Samoens and surrounding attractions. We had a great 2 weeks walking in the area and also enjoyed rafting, parapenting and via ferrata. Would recommend this apartment and wish to return ourselves.

Summer in Samoens

This was our 3rd summer visit to Samoens; each time staying in this charming apartment. The apartment is located on the outskirts of the village, is quiet, and enjoys a stunning backdrop of mountains. But it is also just a few minutes walk from the village itself, and so is convenient for a leisurely stroll to the shops during the day, or restaurants in the evening. The apartment is always exceptionally clean, very nicely furnished, and well appointed. In addition it has plenty of entertainment facilities should one be unlucky with the weather. As well as TV, there is a DVD player with a selection of DVD’s. There is also a PC with a good broadband connection. There is plenty of adjacent private parking space. Booking has always been easy; the owner is very affable and will readily help with any query or problem. Samoens is an extremely pretty village, and whilst there is typical development which is inevitable in an area which attracts so many visitors both winter and summer, the village itself has lost very little of its old world charm and always has a very peaceful atmosphere. As well as its shops, it has a number of restaurants, creperies and cafe’s, all small and traditional, and there are additional restaurants available in neighbouring villages. There is also a good supermarket nearby, including filling station. Nestled in the upper Giffre valley, there are many excellent local walks which can be taken direct from the apartment. There are even more within a short drive, like the fabulous Cirque du Fer de Cheval. We always like to fit in a visit to Chamonix; the Mt Blanc Glacier and the Aiguille du Midi should not be missed! We also often visit Annecy which is just a blaze of flower colour during the summer months. We would thoroughly recommend both apartment and village for a most relaxing summer visit.

Spring 2011 in Samoen

We had a lovely 1 week stay in this apartment. All dealings with the owner Kevin were prompt and easy.The photos are accurate and the property is well maintained and kept very clean. The apartment was large enough for 2 to 4 people but could be squeezy for 6 people unless you are on very friendly terms with each other. The kitchen is small but well equipped and part of the open plan dining room and lounge area. The main bedroom has a double size water bed and there is plenty of cupboard storage in both bedrooms. The TV seems to be French language only. There is a small selection of DVD's so bringing your own supply of DVD's might be a good idea unless your French is good. The internet connection is very fast. The location was great as it is only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Samoen village. Lots of lovely little shops, restuarants, cafes etc. The botanic garden makes a nice excursion. We did some lovely hikes including one up to the Lac de Gers and one up almost to the top of the Aouille de Criou - fantastic views. It was nice that there were some hiking books and Carte de Randonnee maps in the apartment. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to other guests.

Flat in Samoens

This flat was enjoyed by all during our stay; well furnished, well equipped, close to the town centre and within waling distance to the gondola (for those who fancied a morning stroll) the flat was a great base for our week holidays. Samoens is a warm village for those who do not fancy Flaine's concrete jungle... but who still want to enjoy its lovely ski slopes. Samoens is linked to the rest of the grand massif with Flaine slopes a couple of lifts away.
