Bienvenue à Second Cut, un chalet de 42 m² idéal pour une escapade romantique, des vacances de ski, du vélo de montagne en été, des tournois de hockey ou une pause paisible dans le Northeast Kingdom. Compact mais confortable, cette mini-maison charme avec un plafond cathédrale, un grand ventilateur et un espace à aire ouverte. La pièce principale comprend un coin repas, une cuisine complète et un salon avec canapé-lit queen et télé de 102 cm (prête pour le streaming). Une mezzanine, accessible par une échelle abrupte mais praticable, offre un espace nuit douillet avec lit queen et sol en carreaux décoratifs, avec une vue sur l’architecture attrayante, l’artisanat et le style du salon en contrebas. Une petite chambre avec lit simple mène à une salle de bain 3/4 avec un lustre haut et une douche spacieuse en céramique. Un refuge chaleureux et parfait pour un séjour mémorable!

The main space features a dining nook, full kitchen, and sitting area with a queen sleeper sofa and 40” TV (streaming ready). A loft, accessed by a steep but manageable ladder, offers a quaint queen sleeping area with decorative tile flooring and a view of the attractive architecture, craftsmanship, and style below. A small bedroom with a twin bed connects to a 3/4 bath with a high chandelier and spacious tiled shower. Guests rave about its charm and call it the ultimate cozy retreat!

Hi, I’m Brendan, a Vermont local who loves making the most of this incredible region. Whether it’s skiing, mountain biking, gravel and road cycling, enduro dirt biking, fly fishing, hiking, or Nordic skiing, I’m always outside enjoying the landscape—just like many of my guests!
I also love to travel, learn new languages, and connect with people from different backgrounds. My career has taken me through business intelligence, electronics and medical device manufacturing, regulatory leadership, chemistry, microbiology, and even forestry. But no matter where I go, Vermont always feels like home.
Trail building has been a passion of mine for years, from working with the Appalachian Mountain Club to designing mountain bike trails today. If you’re looking for local tips on outdoor adventures, I’m happy to share my favorite spots!

Visiting always felt magical—the small-town charm, the rugged beauty of the mountains, and, of course, the legendary Jay Cloud, delivering some of the best snow in the East. When I saw this property come on the market, I knew it was something special, being 2.5 miles from the resort and with the amazing straw bale cottage.
The neighborhood is a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Just minutes from Jay Peak Resort, it offers incredible skiing in the winter and world-class biking, hiking, and fly fishing the rest of the year. Montgomery Center itself has a great local feel, with cozy cafés, restaurants, and a welcoming community. Whether you’re here to carve fresh powder, ride scenic backroads, or simply unwind in nature, this place has something for everyone.
