With indoor comfort and outdoor adventure, our pond side Wonderland is perfect year-round.

Hawco’s Pond in Deer Park is a beautiful pond that is deep enough for great boating and swimming and big enough to canoe for hours on end.

I am completely available to talk at all phases of your visit. My intention is for you to have a great time and want to ensure that all your questions are answered in a timely way.

Sometimes, I will meet the guests at the property - most times however we will send you your check-in information so you can have your private time.

I live about 50 minutes away.

Located in Cabin Country. There are over 100 owners on Pioneer Line one of three areas in Deer Park. We are 5kms on a well graded dirt road.

Great place for quads or dirt bikes or even riding traditional bikes. Lots of kids around in the summer for the child who is willing to explore. A real sense of freedom for both your children and for you.

There is plenty of place on the property to explore in the lower or upper woods - they may even take their hand at adding to a tree fort that needs upgrading.

Despite lots of owners the lots are mature and you have good privacy on the property. There are also not a lot of boats on the pond.

There is a convenience store 5 km away and a local diner about the same distance.

Bring your friends and party with you or enjoy time to relax and use the place as a launching off point for your exploration of Irish Loop or Baccalieu Trail.

The entire property with the exception of the shed on property is yours to enjoy.

Sleep inside or pitch a tent and sleep on the grass.

"The Country" sits on a one-acre mature treed lot.
Only 50 minutes from either St. John's Airport or the downtown.

Accommodation at Best View Wonderland

Our master bedroom with ensuite features a comfy queen sized bed with rod iron frame and library of lots of books for guest reading. The ensuite bathroom has tub/shower enclosure.

Bedroom 2 - features a queen sized bed and lots of childrens toys and movies. There is also a TV with DVD/VHS player.

The third (Middle) bedroom has a queen sized bed with TV for movie watching (DVD) and a collection of board games.

We can also provide an air mattress if you have an extra guest.

A large gathering living place with wood burning fireplace and plenty of sitting space.
We have a Wall-mounted TV - for movies only and over 120 different titles from Casablanca to This is 40. This TV also has a Roku Stick giving access to your favorite streaming channel.

At Best View Wonderland, you will enjoy the kitchen which is fully equipped with everything you need and the kitchen table can comfortably seat 6.

We have plenty of board games, a huge assortment of children's movies, and legos and crafts

Outside the patio door, there is a huge deck perfect for suntanning and for BBQ.

The deck overlooks the wonderful Hawco's Pond - a Newfoundland version of a lake. 7 Miles long with plenty of interesting places to explore.

We have left most of the front area wild - allowing for an interesting assortment of bushes and berry plants. Bird feeders at Best View Wonderland property attract plenty of different bird visitors depending on the season and you can also see partridge/grouse, squirrels and Newfoundland Hare. If you are really lucky perhaps a moose will come by for tea.

We have a large lower deck, 16ft floating dock, and concrete boat launch. The lower deck is great for summertime picnics, suntanning or watching the kids play in the water.

The floating dock extends 24 feet out from the land and the water is at least 12 feet deep off the end of the dock perfect for diving into the pond or sitting down and dangling your feet in the water.

We have a large area down below to turn a truck and trailer to launch a boat or Seadoo into the pond. Hawco's Pond is great and you can have fun all day.

We also have a canoe on the property for guests to use with plenty of life jackets.

In the summer, you will be treated to amazing sunsets as the sun sets directly across the pond from the back deck only at this Best View Wonderland.

-Local Activities-
Enjoy golfing at one of Newfoundland’s finest courses, The Wilds or visit Salmonier Nature Park, a sanctuary to nurse some of the locals back to health.

The Salmonier Line is also a perfect starting point for trip up towards Hearts Delight or Northern Bay Sands or down around the Irish Loop.

(plus $5 after the 2nd night). 2 pets, $70 for 2 nights, $80 for 3 nights, $90 for 4 nights and so on...

We welcome dogs but unfortunately do not permit cats. This policy is in place due to specific considerations and factors such as allergies, behavior, safety concerns, and property maintenance. We strive to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for all our guests.

Wood available @ $20.00 a day

This place is perfect for guests of all ages to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings close to nature.

You will need a car to get here but there is plenty of parking on site

Upon booking, we will ask you to fill out our Pre-Arrival Form and review and agree to our rental conditions.

Please no smoking in the Cabin. You are welcome to smoke on the decks (there are ashtrays under the kitchen sinks). Please also watch for your butts.

The water in the pond drops off quickly and has a rocky bottom. We recommend wearing water shoes.

Please take care if you plan to use the canoe and use lifejackets. Watch the wind on the pond, it can get quite rough.

There is a first aid kit in the main bathroom upper cupboard.


You'll receive your check-in instructions on the day of your check-in at 12PM.

Please note that only registered guests are allowed on the property, unless explicitly approved by the owner or host in advance. Guests are kindly requested to contact the host or owner for approval prior to inviting any additional guests. We prioritize the safety and comfort of our guests, and unauthorized guests are not permitted. Furthermore, in order to maintain a peaceful environment, we strictly prohibit parties or large gatherings on the property unless specifically approved by the host. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
