Private Oceanfront access - Surrounded by Acadia National Park - Amazing Views!!

Consider this charming house "Stone Bluff" your home away from home while you visit Mount Desert Island. Stone Bluff features 2 cozy bedrooms with a comfortable king and queen bed. With 2 bathrooms equipped with all the essentials, large closets, linens, soaps and paper products- you'll feel right at home.

Stone Bluff is situated on a private 10-acre property with 600' of direct Oceanfront access for you to enjoy. It takes 2 minutes to walk down chambers Lane where you will find 3 docks, and a great place to fish or keep a boat. Although there are a few cottages tucked into private drives along the property, you will barely see or notice them due to the way the property was laid out. The hill down to the water is easily walked, or driven where you will find parking.

Stone Bluff has 3 sliding patio doors out onto the porch which spans the entire length of the house. The deck offers incredible views of Acadia National park mountains, sailboat regattas, lobster boats, and incredible sunrises. The house sits perched atop a granite quarry which gives an 'eagle eye' view of Parkman, Sargent, Norumbega and Gilmore mountains.

Stone Bluff has a 1 car garage, basketball hoop, and plenty of green space to enjoy.

Stone Bluff has recently been updated with new windows, doors, siding, decking, flooring, furniture and paint. It is a comfortable home with all the amenities you would expect. Each bedroom has a TV, new mattress, and plenty of storage. There is a hot tub shown in a few pictures however it doesn't work, and is not included.

This is a family run business known as chambers Oceanfront Cottages. We take pride in our home, and can't wait to share it with you.

A beautiful property overlooking Sommes Sound. Paul left a few notes to explain how things worked which was perfect. The location was great - we were less than 10 minutes away from Southwest Harbor and Acadia/Bar Harbor. Everything was as described.

Stunning sunrise view. Big windows and floor plan allow for incredible views day and night. Quiet and private property. Very livable home. Host communication top notch and no negative surprises at the property. 10 minutes to NE harbor area carriage roads for biking.

This property was absolutely perfect for our trip to the Acadia area. It was nice to stay in a more private location with stunning views while also providing just a short drive to Bar Harbor and other popular destinations. The house was the right size for my family of four (and my son greatly appreciated the "Lego room"), with useful amenities. Paul was extremely communicative, gracious, and helpful with any and all matters. We greatly enjoyed our time and would love to visit again!

Absolutely Amazing

The place was as beautiful as it is in the pictures! We loved waking up to the sunrise outside our window every morning and the location of the property could not have been better! We were so close to all the hikes we wanted to do and Bar Harbor. This place was secluded and exactly what we needed for our vacation. The owner also did such a great job at communicating to make everything so easy for us. Thank you for everything!

We were quite surprised by the size of the deck and living room . The pictures in the listing really don’t do it justice . Really private location, you can’t see or hear the neighbors . Parking was easy , and the location was just the right amount of “out of the way” but not inconvenient. Short drive to southwest harbor and about 20 minutes to bar harbor . Our host Paul was very informative and responsive! We have no complaints , we would book again .

Our family stayed in the Stone Bluff Cottage for a week and it was a fantastic home base for our visit to Acadia National Park.Paul and Ashlee are outstanding hosts and have thought of everything. They were very quick to respond to our questions, and are very knowledgeable about the area.The cottage is wonderfully furnished with gorgeous views of Somes Sound. We especially appreciated the full kitchen, the grills on the deck, and the in-unit washer and dryer. It was the perfect home away from home for our family.

AMAZING home and host!

Our stay was nothing short of amazing! The location of this property, the view, the cleanliness and the communication process were perfect - absolutely no complaints! The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed including beach towels, tupperware for packing a picnic, plenty of towels and a nice selection of dishes, kitchenware, cups, etc. All of my messages, questions were returned promptly and the check-in and check-out process with smooth.The location was perfect-it was quieter than staying in Bar Harbor, but still close and convenient to everything.We also enjoyed walking down to the dock that was close to the home and enjoying the view!I can't say enough good things, we were sad to leave, highly recommend! Photo is the sunrise from the house!

Outstanding experience at Stone Bluff and with Paul

We stayed at Stone Bluff cottage. Paul was a fantastic host from before we arrived through the end of the trip. He patiently answered lots questions about the place, as well as provided several suggestions for site seeing. When tiny housekeeping things came up, Paul responded right away! When I forgot a lock for our bikes, Paul loaned us one of his to save us the drive off the Island. The place was nice and meticulously clean. WiFi worked great. It’s noteworthy this place had all the little things, like zip lock bags, paper towels, real tissues (!!), a tide-to-go instant stain remover I didn’t know I needed until I actually did, a full length mirror, and skirt hangers. There is lots of storage so you can really unpack and settle in! There’s a beautiful view of the water right from the house, and it’s a 2 minute walk down the hill to sit at the dock on the water. The drive to Acadia was beautiful and reasonable -/ we mostly hiked and rode bikes there. Overall, the place was great!

Beautiful property and excellent accommodations. The communication left by the owner, cleanliness, and all necessities for kitchen, baths, bedrooms, laundry, & outdoor deck were very helpful. The views from the home and deck were awesome. Location of property was central to all of Acadia NP sites. Would highly recommend this place!

5/5 Stars – Perfect Cottage Retreat in the Heart of Mount Desert Island

This centrally located cottage was the perfect base for exploring all that Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park have to offer. Nestled in a peaceful spot with beautiful views of the water and surrounding mountains, it was a joy to wake up each morning with a cup of coffee on the porch and take it all in.The location made it incredibly easy to access all corners of the island—whether we were hiking in Acadia, strolling through Bar Harbor, or finding hidden gems along the coast. In the evenings, the cottage was warm and cozy, a great place to relax, recharge, and reflect on the day’s adventures.We couldn’t have asked for a better combination of comfort, scenery, and location. Highly recommend for anyone looking to truly experience the beauty and tranquility of Mount Desert Island.

My wife (Ashlee) and I have been running the family business of providing clean, quality vacation rentals for the past 12 years. Stone Bluff was our home for the past 14 years, and is now available after we put a lot of work into it to make it the ultimate vacation retreat. We have 2 kids now, and are experimenting with living 5 minutes from Stone Bluff. We enjoy boating in somes sound and the outer islands, and Acadia National Park.

Hall quarry is where i spent most of my childhood. There's nothing like a small coastal village feel; an unhurried friendly vibe with the smell of salt air and peaceful atmosphere.

This is the only property we know of on MDI which offers the privacy comfort and quality along with an intimate ocean setting and some of the best views on Mount Desert Island. We are located centrally to everything MDI has to offer, yet we're still on the Atlantic Ocean. We have 3 docks, a boat ramp and a great place to fish.
