Beautiful and Spacious

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was beautiful scenery, and the cabin was very clean and decorated nicely. My family and I were very satisfied with our experience there. The technicians came very quickly when we had issues. The staff and team were very nice and efficient. The only thing was I did not know about bringing the following items: coffee filters, extra paper towels (they only supplied one roll), extra toilet paper ( they only supplied one in the bathroom on the main level), extra trash bags (they only supplied the one in the trash can in the kitchen), the sleeping downstairs was a problem and was very cold for the kids ( this is where the bunk beds are), You were instructed to turn the heat up real high upstairs in order to heat the downstairs, this made it very hot in the bedroom upstairs. Finding a way to adjust the heat to be comfortable was an issue. Otherwise, it was a beautiful property. Just bring extra blankets for the downstairs.

Basswood Lodge - A perfect place to relax

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was a wonderful place to stay. Very convenient location, but far enough away from the busy towns. Back porch rockers were my favorite being a peaceful place to just sit back and do nothing but listen to the cicada's and crickets, and the occasional steam engine whistle from Dollywood. Rainy days we played pool and used the theater room that we felt like we were at the movies. The hot tub outside was a great way to relax from a busy day. The cabin itself was beautiful. Kept discovering all the little touches added every day of our stay. Thank you for being the perfect host! Elk Springs Resort staff were top notch from booking to checking out. They were very helpful with all of my questions and answered them right away. We will definitely be returning and use Elk Springs Resort again.

Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a great time and the cabin was very nice and well maintained. There were a couple minor issues but overall the experience was great. We saw a momma bear with her 2 cubs crossing the road as soon as we was pulling up to the cabin, so you definitely get see the wildlife up close. The cabin could use some new bed mattresses in my opinion, those were a little hard and uncomfortable to sleep on but they were nice enough. The jets in the hottub didn't really work but the hottub was nice and was useful even without the jets. The kitchen sink was slow to drain. The cabin could use some more couches to sit in for the living room because we only had 6 people with us but not enough couches or us all to sit on. Overall the cabin was great. We would come back again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was beautiful. Only a few minor hiccups. The theater is so hard to work and navigate we ended up not even using it. No trash and other than the bathroom and the kitchen which was super inconvenient when there is a house full of people. Perfect for entertaining. Plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. I’d definitely reccommend moving the pool table down stairs though. If the upstairs room is sleeping you couldn’t play. Other than that just how it was pictured!

Property wasn’t the cleanest. Dirty sheets on the sofa bed. Bugs that I can’t identify but think were roaches. Broken dishwasher (blocked drain) no vacuum or broom to clean up after ourselves. Could have better lighting. Washing machine is dirty…possible mold. Dust on the walls in downstairs bathroom and den area. Everything that I did report was taken care of. I feel that every so often all properties should have a thorough cleaning

Overall was a good experience

My family and I prefer to stay a distance away from other parties, so the location was great. I saw that other cabins were right next to one another and would not have been happy with that. The location was also centrally located to many small touristic towns and only took us minutes to travel by car. Although the cabin had everything we needed, there were some minor inconveniences. The air conditioning only worked well on the top floor making the other levels too warm to stay in. The ceiling fans helped a little, but it was not enough and made sleeping uncomfortable. The jets in the tub upstairs went off automatically, making this loud noise. Lastly, the outdoor bbq grill was dirty and clogged with grease preventing the heat from getting through, which took longer to cook. Other than that, our stay was good but may look to stay elsewhere next time we visit.

We had an issue with the rental not being cool enough but the resort called and resolved the issues quickly. The site said there was a trolley stop 1 minute away but the closest one we could find was a little further than that. We were hoping to be able to have transportation into town, but that was not the case and we had to drive and park every day.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was in a great location, however there were a bunch of upkeep and maintenance issues. The Bad:When we got there, we had to call several times throughout the week to have things fixed/repaired (a bunch of light bulbs were burned out, kitchen switch didn't work, the rack for the pool table was broken, toaster was 1/2 broken) and some larger issues (Refrigerator not cooling, Theater Projector had password and couldn't use the first day). It looks like they vacuumed but did not sweep the floors as we found food on the floor from the previous guests. The dishes/cups/pans all needed to be washed before use. Just plan on a couple of hours to clean and wipe everything down. The beds were large, but very uncomfortable and hard to sleep on. The Good:The internet speed was about 30mbps which was good and all the tv's had streaming setup. It was located close to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. All the issues we reported were fixed.

Reviewer Comments: I picked my kids up from the airport knowing we had 3 hours to kill, Elksprings messaged me and told me cabin was available to check in early..this was HUGE. Super easy directions, we pulled into the resort, absolutely beautiful, private secluded, gorgeous. We walked into the cabin and no pictures did it justice. Beautiful, kitchen completely new, clean, stocked with all the conveniences, furniture, bathrooms, layout beyond beautiful with huge windows. Bedrooms, theater location, I can't describe how exciting, easy, relaxing this cabin, location is. Smack in a mountain in nature, it's perfect for everyone.It felt so comfortable just like it was home.Management was incredibly kind, answered all questions, kept me informed with email and texts through the whole process. This is my 4th time renting cabins and I'm only using Elksprings from now on. We loved loved loved it, Elksprings made it the best vacation ever, Thank you, well be back.

Our cabin was peaceful, other than noisy neighbors, which of course had nothing to do with the rental itself. The cabin was very clean, well equipped for cooking. I didn’t like that only dvds worked the theater room, we forgot dvd’s so the kids watched one movie over and over. Would recommend putting at least the option to log into Netflix for the theater room.

Disappointed there wasn’t a garbage disposal, pitcher, or a cutting board in the kitchen. Used washcloth left in one bathroom and roll of toilet paper was almost empty. Sheets on two of the beds were folded under the blanket instead of put on the beds.

Amazing House to stay ...2 minor suggestions

The elk roof resort house was amazing. We loved the stay for us 5 adults and 2 kids. Can fit 2 more and live lavishly if below 2 improvements are made 1)Winter weather - please add portable non hazardous heaters in basement/bottom floor. Basement no matter what does not heat up in winter. 2) Add better winter comfortors....some of us allergic to those rough woolen blankets. At&t mobile service does not provide adequate service but house wifi is super strong for internet and streaming.
