The Space:

Welcome to your tropical sanctuary: A villa where luxury meets relaxation in the heart of Nosara.
This stunning home is designed to offer an unparalleled vacation experience, combining opulent amenities with the beauty of Costa Rica’s natural surroundings.Perfectly positioned in the sought-after J section of Nosara, it offers a serene escape in a vibrant yet tranquil part of town—just a few minutes’ walk from the lively main street. Seamlessly blending sophistication with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere, this villa is the ideal retreat for families or groups seeking both comfort and convenience.



Accommodations:

The villa features three beautifully appointed king en-suite bedrooms, each offering its own private terrace or balcony. These spacious retreats are designed with relaxation in mind, showcasing local craftsmanship and materials. Each bathroom is adorned with unique, handmade Costa Rican tiles and stocked with luxurious Miru bath products and hairdryers, while plush Parachute towels provide the ultimate comfort. Thoughtful touches throughout include air conditioning, ceiling fans, and handcrafted wood closets with secure storage for your valuables. The beds, made from beautiful local wood feature premium Jiron US-sized mattresses and incredibly soft 100% cotton Parachute sheets, promise restful nights after days spent exploring or surfing.



Bunk Room:

The fourth bedroom is a playful and functional space, ideal for children or friends. It features four custom-built bunk beds (sleeping 8), nestled in their own alcoves, each with a reading light and charging outlets. Equipped with drawers and mini closets it’s a space where comfort meets convenience. After a day of adventure, kids (or adults!) can relax in the cozy TV area with bean bags or enjoy some downtime between surf sessions.



Office:

For guests who need to stay connected, the villa includes a private office, offering a peaceful environment with its own balcony. A beautiful wood desk and triple-redundant WiFi ensure that even those who need to catch up on work can do so in comfort and style.



Studio:

Need additional space or a more independent retreat? Above the garage, a stylish one-bedroom studio awaits. This fully equipped suite features a queen bed, a full kitchen, and a cozy living/dining area, along with its own private balcony. Ideal for in-laws, extended family, or guests who desire more privacy, the studio also includes a washer/dryer, shower, and convenient surf storage, all easily accessible through a private entrance.

Kitchen:

The heart of the home is the gourmet kitchen, which effortlessly blends modern design with the warmth of Costa Rican craftsmanship. Outfitted with state-of-the-art appliances, cookware, and dishware from Crate and Barrel, it’s perfect for preparing meals for two or twelve. Whether you’re cooking for a crowd or simply enjoying a quiet meal, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’ll need. Triple-filtered water, part of the eco-conscious water system, is available throughout the villa, and thoughtful details—like tumblers for cold drinks, reusable shopping bags, and a wine and beer fridge—ensure every need is met.





Dining:

Dining at the villa offers two distinct experiences:

*Al Fresco Dining: Gather around the spectacular custom-made Guanacaste dining table, which comfortably seats twelve. Here, you can enjoy meals surrounded by the sounds of the jungle and the ambiance of your tropical surroundings, all while listening to your favorite music on the Sonos sound system.

*Indoor Dining: If you prefer to dine in the cool comfort of air conditioning, the kitchen island offers seating for nine. Perfect for casual meals or a quick bite, it’s an inviting space to gather together. After dinner, you can unwind with a family movie, play games, or enjoy a refreshing evening swim in the beautifully lit pool.



Yoga/Multi-Use Balcony:

Upstairs, a serene yoga/multi-use balcony overlooks the lush courtyard, providing a tranquil spot for stretching, yoga, or simply relaxing. Whether you’re starting the day with a private instructor or letting the kids unwind with music and games, this flexible space can be adapted to suit your needs.





Not quite done enjoying the water? Step into the tranquil courtyard, where you can relax on luxurious loungers under the sun or take a refreshing dip in the Moroccan-inspired pool. For those seeking a bit more adventure, embrace your inner Wim Hof and invigorate yourself in the cool, rejuvenating cold plunge pool.



Guest Access:

All the areas in the house are for the use of our guests except the locked garage.



There is also a one bedroom studio with private access that may be available (schedule dependant) for an additional price



The Neighborhood:

Casita Mariposa is located on the road adjacent to the beach. Playa Guiones is a protected beach with a green zone, so there are no homes or hotels within 200 meters of the ocean. It is a fun 3-5 minute walk to the waves via the beach path near Beach Dog (our private beach path will become available in March). Our location could not be more central to the heart of Nosara. Walk one minute to the iconic Beach Dog Cafe to enjoy great food and weekly live music, or continue on for another minute to the main street of Nosara, where you'll find boutique shops, surf shops, a pharmacy, cafes, and various amenities.

What is it about Nosara?



Nosara is a stunning destination renowned for its breathtaking beaches, attracting surfers, yogis, families, and nature enthusiasts alike. Nosara often goes by the name of its incredible beach, Playa Guiones. In fact, the beach town is affectionately referred to as Guiones South and Guiones North, depending on which side of the main street you are on. Guiones is a tourist-friendly area, offering all the modern comforts while retaining a laid-back jungle vibe. It’s particularly popular for its reliable surf, accommodating everyone from beginners to seasoned pros, along with diverse dining options, yoga studios, shops, and accommodations. Just to the north is Pelada, a quaint beach town perfect for swimming, blending local life with tourism. To the south is the small fishing village of Garza, the launch point for boat tours focused on fishing, whale and dolphin watching, snorkeling, and more. Nosara town, situated inland, provides a glimpse into authentic Costa Rican culture and cuisine.





REFUGE



The pristine beaches of Nosara—Guiones, Pelada, Garza, and Boca Nosara—are part of the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge, dedicated to protecting the turtles that nest at Ostional beach each month. This conservation effort prohibits construction along the beach’s edge, preserving the area’s lush flora and fauna and maintaining Nosara's status as a tropical paradise. The local developments are small-scale, ensuring you won’t encounter large hotels or crowded beaches. Many accommodations and eateries prioritize eco-friendliness and community support, making it the ideal spot to reconnect with nature and find tranquility.





EVERYDAY LIFE



Here are some essential details to enhance your experience in Nosara:



Water Safety: While Costa Rica’s water is said to be safe to drink, for some with delicate stomachs there can be an adjustment period. Our Airbnb however features a top of the line water filtration system throughout the entire Casita for your peace of mind.





Seasons: From November to April is the high season, characterized by dry weather with minimal rainfall—perfect for enjoying all that Nosara has to offer. Prices, as well as the heat and dryness, tend to rise during this period. From May to August, it’s the low season, with increased rain, especially in the months of August, September, and October. While it may rain occasionally, the lush greenery during this season is enchanting.



Local Amenities: Nosara has one gas station located between Nosara town and Guiones, with another along the road to Sámara. There are two banks with ATMs—one in Guiones on the main road and another near the gas station. Non-Costa Ricans will need to present their passports for transactions. The local currency is the Colón, but U.S. dollars and credit cards are widely accepted in tourist areas.





Healthcare: While the nearest hospital is in Nicoya, Guiones offers various medical services, along with smaller clinics and private doctors. The largest and most popular clinic with tourists is Paradise Medical, located on the main road next to the pharmacy.
