This is a place to unplug. Although there is electricity, there is no wifi, TV, or video players. Take a tech-free vacation! Some cell service is available.

Guest access
Plenty of free parking on the mainland with carrying in of supplies over a boardwalk and paths. Our island has the privacy of an island but the convenience of not having to arrive by boat due to a narrow strip of land filled in over the last century. The walk to the farthest and largest cabin is about a football field length among the woods, rocks, and roots. The many private paths provide a variety of walks from cabin to cabin. Discover many special locations such as the gazebo, hammocks, and small natural cave.

Other things to note
All of the cabins have been built by our ancestors and contain loads of history. For example the Nice House sleeping cabin was once the Ice House for storing blocks of ice from the lake for their ice chests in the summer. The decor is rustic and original to the cabins and most items have done form of family history. So, if you want to swing back in time to an authentic Adirondack experience this is the place for you!

My great grandfather purchased Loon Island 94 years ago. Six generations have enjoyed this island. Our family hopes that you can create precious memories on Loon Island too.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Lake Bonaparte is a picturesque, quiet, clean water, spring fed lake with 26 miles of shoreline in the beautiful foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. This lake features undeveloped and stunning shorelines—especially on the west shore, which is owned by the Fort Drum Military Preserve. It is a prime spot to see wildlife, including loons, bald eagles, and osprey. You will not see prettier sunsets than from the gazebo on the tip of our Island.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Unplug and Unwind: No distractions—just the soothing sounds of lapping waves and rustling pines. Swap screen time for stargazing and reconnect with what matters most.

Cozy, Authentic Vibes: Our handcrafted camps, little log cabin,  and charming cottages blend rugged comfort with Adirondack charm. Think crackling fireplaces, lapping water, and porches perfect for morning coffee.

Nature at Your Doorstep: Paddle a canoe around the island, hike through beautiful pines, or cast a line for bass in crystal-clear waters. Wildlife abounds: spot loons, chipmunks, or even a bald eagle.

Private Paradise: With the entire island to yourself, enjoy total seclusion. Host family gatherings, romantic retreats, or solo adventures without another soul in sight.

Simple Pleasures: Roast marshmallows by the firepit, read by lantern light, or nap in a hammock. This is where memories are made, free from modern clutter.
