This charming vacation unit is located on lower level of a split house with a separate entrance. This unit features 2 queen beds, spacious closets, 2 attached bathrooms with bathtub/shower, hairdryers, AC units and WiFi, a spacious kitchen/dining (electric range, dish washer, rice cooker, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, Primo water dispenser) and private laundry unit. Location: This family home is located in the vicinity of Indian Creek farm; within 10 minutes from Cornell University, Taughannock fall, Cayuga Lake, Ithaca Downtown, Trumansburg and most of the scenic trails in Ithaca; also 2 minutes from Cayuga Medical Center. Also located within 25 minutes drive from Watkins Glens. Fire pit/barbecue: There is a beautiful fire pit area along with 2 huge picnic tables in backyard (with motion sensor solar lights) behind the carport which is designated for the guests. Guests must bring their own firewoods or charcoal for the camp fire or barbecue. Unfortunately, we do not provide firewoods or charcoal. However, guests are more than welcome to use the available firewoods in the area.

Everything was great. I pulled right to the door to unload and then move off to the side to park. Dog Friendly & access to a proper potty spot. A trash outside for poop bags would be a nice add, but the owner said I could leave them by the door. I had trouble with the remote and he came right down to show me. Very friendly. As to people reviews about water smell....I noticed nothing! I might have heard a few footsteps upstairs but nothing intrusive and the propert is very quiet! It was to damp to use the fire pit, but that would have been nice. I only had one issue....no curtain on the door window, howeverthe owner is having something installed so that shouldn't be an issue in the future. Great property. I would stay again!

The place was really very good and clean. The kitchen was adequately stocked for making meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms were excellent. The outside space was excellent with good seating possibilities and a firepit with firewood supplied.Our only issue was the living room arrangement. One sofa is awkwardly jammed between another sofa and the wall. The table for four is a bit in the way. Had we had to spend more time in that space, we would've been a little uncomfortable. Fortunately, the weather was such that we were able to spend most of our time there outside. The owners, who are on site, were fabulous. We would consider staying here again in spite of the living room, but hope it gets rearranged.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the rental! Breezy was incredibly communicative and checked in regular to ensure everything was perfect, which made us feel so welcomed and cared for. The property's location is ideal, just a short drive to Cornel, college town and the Commons making it easy to explore the area. The house itself is beautifully updated with modern equipment and the well stocked coffee bar was a delightful touch that we enjoyed every morning. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, creating a relaxing atmosphere and the bed was so comfortable that we slept like babies. We can't wait to return and will definitely book again! Highly recommend!

Had a great time

While I was nervous at first because of a previous review that I saw after booking, I am pleased to say that there were no problems with my stay. When contacted by Breezy with check in instructions I was informed that the location was newly renovated to include 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, that the parking space has just been upgraded to be able to fit 2 large vehicles, and that if there was not a tenant currently there was always touch ups being done to improve the quality of the stay, I was also informed that there was on call maintenance if there were any problems, thankfully there were no issues to be had. I really liked that I was so close to Ithaca proper, and within minutes of both Cass and Taughannock parks, both had wonderful hiking trails. The review that I had seen seems to have been wildly exaggerated. Not only was there a primo water dispenser but the water out of the sink was perfectly drinkable, there was no sulfur smell at all. The apartment was on the lower level and the entrance was less than 2 parking spaces away from the parking area, with a keyless entry for the door. The coffee station in the spacious and well stocked kitchen and included washer and dryer were greatly appreciated. I will definitely book my next visit with the Specchio House.

Misleading, Worst Smelling Sulfur Water Ever, & Left Early

As the first reviewer of this property, I believe this to be an honest and fair assessment. All correspondence between myself and owner can be proven… I’m not one of those people. When booking the property, the original listing said nothing about this being a split level house with people living above us. I emailed the owner about the misleading listing who agreed, then edited it during our stay. Little too late for us. The water was the worst smelling water I’ve ever experienced and didn’t find out about the sulfur smell until our arrival. While they provided jugs of drinking water, showering was impossible. Well water doesn’t scare us. We have stayed in VRBOs (less than 3 miles away) and camped all over the country, but this is an entirely different level of sulfur. In emailing in the owner, her response was her generosity in providing us with the jugs and stated well water is actually better for us. CmonThe rest of the house was decorated pretty well and the appliances weren’t bad. Bring utensils and other cooking needs (baking sheet, colander, a can opener, garbage bags, napkins) as there were only 2 knives and 6 forks in the place. The “couches” are nothing more than dorm futons and uncomfortable. The back yard is muddy for the dog and access was tricky as it was under construction. No dead bolt on the door even though it was listed.We left half way though our stay & any form of compensation from the owner was dismissed by her. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
