Forest-Edge Family Home with Hot Tub, Trails & Summer Magic

Welcome to our home! We’re a family of four who live here most of the year, but we’ll be away for five weeks this summer — and we’re excited to open up our space to the right guests while we’re gone.

Our home sits right at the edge of the forest, with immediate access to miles of trails. In the summer, we love mountain biking straight from the front door or strolling down to the Upper Truckee River. You can ride your bike all the way into town via connected trails and bike paths — no need to get in the car.

The backyard is one of our favorite features: a private hot tub nestled against the forest, a green summer lawn perfect for kids to run across, and an outdoor deck that’s ideal for dinners under the pines.

Inside, the home is warm and inviting. A previous owner was a general contractor who added beautiful wood trims, hardwood floors, and tasteful upgrades throughout. The house is 2,100 square feet with 4 bedrooms, including two spacious master suites upstairs — one with a California king, the other with a queen and twin — each with a walk-in closet and private bathroom. Downstairs, one bedroom has a bunk bed (our boys’ room), and the other has a futon and functions as an office.

You’ll have high-speed internet (>400 Mbps up/down — we both work from home), a washer and dryer, and a two-car garage for bikes, gear, or toys. There’s a TV downstairs with a quality surround sound system, and upstairs we have a projector for cozy movie nights.

This really is a dream home — peaceful, beautifully built, and full of little summer joys. Due to local regulations, we can only rent it out for a single stay of one month, so we’re looking for someone who can enjoy the full time while we’re away.
