¡Nuevo en 2017! Esta propiedad patrimonial recién renovada se presentó en el sitio de diseño Apartment Therapy. Ubicada en una hermosa entrada de marea con frente de agua directo, nuestra casa tiene cuatro habitaciones (todas con colchones nuevos), dos baños y una cocina gourmet con electrodomésticos nuevos que está abierta a un comedor con una gran mesa de cosecha. La propiedad también cuenta con un hermoso granero de 1800 con mesa de billar y una mesa de juego de mesa vintage restaurada, almacenamiento seguro para bicicletas y kayaks. Estamos ubicados en la pintoresca costa sur de Nueva Escocia, a minutos de las mejores playas oceánicas de la provincia, el río LaHave y la ciudad de Lunenburg, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, famosa por su construcción naval de madera y su arquitectura.

We spent a week at this spacious property and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The home was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The setting was peaceful. We took advantage of the outdoor seating area and sea kayaks. The area offers lots to do.

Sisters Week

everything was wonderful about this stay!!! I want to go once a year! 5 of us, all living in different parts of Canada, could not have been happier with the stay...the house worked for all, the Barn games room was a delight, we watched a DVD in the Chicken Coop, watched Canada geese and deer enjoy the property too, and the location allowed for daily excursions all within short drives and all beautiful beaches or sweet towns. Stay here!!

Wonderful

From the very first second it was perfect. The House is stunning, lovely details all over. Comfy beds and clean bathrooms. Everything you could need for cooking is offered. The Red Barn was our highlight for the evenings. There’s a shuffle board and pool and darts and Skee Ball!!! Our stay was really nice with the whole family. Lots of memories made! Thank you!

Adult Sibling Trip

The house is beautiful and so comfortable. Our stay wasnt long enough to enjoy the games in the barn. The kitchen was a pleasure to work in and prepare a meal. The dining room table was perfect with space for everyone. Each bedroom was a nice get away at the end of the day.

Blue House Red Barn

Perfect!

We rented this house for our first full family vacation in 15 years (3 generations). The 7 of us thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful house (immediately feeling at home), the awesome fun-filled barn and the great location near picturesque towns (Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Chester) and beaches. Friends Get Away

Thank you to Greg and Shaune for allowing us to return to their beautiful home! A group of 8 friends thoroughly enjoyed the 3 day get away with lots of down time. A Great Place to Make Memories

My friends and I had a wonderful 5 days here…it’s even better than the photos. Greg and Shaun are lovely hosts…very helpful and quick to respond (even through a hurricane). The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you could need and more. The beds were all so comfortable and the rooms were lovely. EVERYTHING is lovely here! Would highly recommended to friends and families as a great place to stay.

The best

Anthony and I absolutely loved our stay at the property. Shaune and Greg were fantastic people and great communicators. Waking up every morning, having coffee on the deck with a view of the water was one of our favorite parts of the day. We spent hours in the barn playing pool and skeeball too!

More than we expected.

Everything and more. The house was nicely laid out, and worked for 6 adults. The unexpected bonus was the barn/games building. We lived in it every evening, and had a blast. The second out building was great for movies. Big screen, good selection of movies, and comfortable seating. Will we be back. . . absolutely.

Amazing!!

We had a fantastic time at the cottage. Upon arriving it was immaculate throughout. The cottage is beautiful and well stocked. He beds were super comfy and the two bathrooms was a bonus with the group of us. Then you go to the barn…..there are no words. This place is amazing! We spend every day touring towns and every night in the barn. The chicken coop was cool too but we never used it because the barn was so cool. We didn’t even eat inside once. Just sat at the picnic table every day. I have never given a 5star review on any cottage I’ve rented. This deserves way more even. Thanks so much for making the first week of our vacation an unforgettable one!!

Blue house Redbarn

We loved everything about this property rental. The house was beautiful and view from the back porch, gorgeous! The barn with all it’s games was so much fun for children to adults. And of course the chicken coup was an added bonus. The hosts, Shaune and Greg were very helpful with any questions we had and responded quickly. The host of this property goes way over the top. Lovely cottage and spectacular views...barn with pooltable and shuffleboard was a big hit...really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely fabulous!

The owners have thought of everything! The property is beautiful. It had all the amenities one would need on vacation. It’s a very popular place because we have been trying to get in for two years. It’s close to Lunenburg, Blue Rocks, & Mahone Bay. We loved the way the owners decorated the cottage; extremely tasteful. So glad we finally got to stay. You will love the games room and the movie room, absolutely fabulous. You won’t be disappointed. Owners were wonderful to deal with❤️

Wonderful property!!!

The blue house red barn was a wonderful spot to stay, it had absolutely everything we needed!!! Very clean and organized!! The entertainment barn was so much fun for evening entertainment. Fire pit down by the water was lovely. Definitely looking forward to another visit!!!

The perfect get away, come rain or shine

We had a wonderful stay at Blue house, Red Barn. The photos on the website really do not do it justice! We were there to celebrate my Son’s 18th birthday, just family and his girlfriend, but we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The cottage is extremely clean and well equipped and Greg and Shaune were the perfect hosts. The view from the cottage is beautiful, the location is perfect and the Red Barn was an added bonus we have not experienced anywhere else. We spent a few hours of fun playing skee ball, shuffle board, darts and pool. The local must does are; The Ovens National Park (please note there is an entry fee), Hirtles Beach, Gaff Point and Green Bay beach. Lunenburg is great for restaurants, shopping and second hand book stores. Rose Bay grocery store is only a 10 minute drive for a good supply of groceries and the most amazing locally made ice cream. We definitely plan to return!

Excellent Mini Vacation

Our stay at this property was so much fun! The beautifully restored home included everything you could possibly need to make your stay a comfortable and relaxing one. The barn and chicken coop were the icing on the cake. Hours were spent playing pool, skee ball and shuffle board. There is so much space to hang out and relax. Our group of 8 friends will definitely be back. Thank you to Shaune and Greg for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home. Denise H.

We are urban dwellers who love rural escapes, especially Nova Scotia's lovely South Shore. We fell in love with this property the first time we saw it, a diamond in the rough to be sure. The next year saw countless trips and seemingly endless work to restore its charms and modernize it just enough to make for comfortable, memorable vacations.

Our blue house experience comes with its own restored post and beam barn complete with a commercial grade pool table, plenty of room to hang out and a vintage 1962 regulation size shuffle board table. We are also located on a beautiful tidal inlet popular with kayakers, and close to stunning ocean beaches and the LaHave River. The LaHave is the largest river in the province, with a charming and handy cable ferry.
