La casa fue construida en la década de 1920 y en la renovación hemos intentado mantener el aspecto del pasado. El entorno es muy tranquilo y privado, pero cerca de muchas aventuras y actividades. Está convenientemente ubicado a 8 minutos de Brockville, ON .... conocido como la Ciudad de las Islas 1,0000. Mientras que en Brockville se puede disfrutar de la recién construida Aquatarium Discovery Center, buceo de agua dulce, restaurantes, teatro, tiendas, etc Ottawa, la capital de las naciones es de 1 hora. Sur, Montreal es de 2 horas. Este y Toronto es de 3 horas. Oeste. El sistema del canal de Rideau y la aldea superior de Canadá están cerca para explorar. Disfrute del golf y de los 1.000 cruceros por la isla por la vía marítima (incluidos el castillo Boldt y la isla Singer). The host, Peggy, was wonderful to work with. The views are amazing and the property private. It felt like home. It was fairly close to grocery stores, etc., and we were able to do all of our other tours easily from where we were staying. You just cannot go wrong while staying at the St. Lawrence River.

The property is in a very quiet area on the St. Lawrence in view of ships but at an area of the river that is wide enough to enjoy on calm days by kayak and canoe. The land there has been kept ‘wild’, not manicured, so attracts more birds and natural residents. We saw a pair of swans, many ducks, geese and cormorants. The camp is rustic and is well equipped. The host is very responsive. We couldn’t use the docks, which had been damaged by rough weather but they are being replaced soon.

Relaxing and Memorable

The owner was a total pleasure to deal with from booking to checkout. This is a very cute cottage in a natural surrounding with a large porch to watch wildlife and freighters go by. Not a party place geared to embracing the serenity and natural beauty of 1000 islands.

A delightful cottage

Every room of this lovely private cottage overlooks the water, and the little bay is protected by Princess Island. A lovely view of the sunrise, passing boats and the perennial garden enlivened our days. The old growth forest provided calm and shade on the roadside. Evening fireflies added a magical touch. A true cottage, peaceful and celebrating Ontario's summer. Thank you!

The River is amazing.

This is a lovely rustic cottage but has all the perks you could want. Excellent view, great deck, well equipped kitchen. Comfy front room. Full bath (although the shower controls were a bit tricky). Bedrooms were as advertised and the loft space was well ventilated if the windows were open. Everyday we noticed the quiet. Lovely. On the downside, the deck could use some repair work, the dock was totally unusable and the trees could use a massive trim (they both block part of the excellent view and contribute to the mosquito problem we had each evening) Overall an excellent 2 weeks.

Great Base Camp for St Lawrence Fishing Trip

As an avid angler I seldom divulge my best fishing spots, however, Peggy and Peter were such gracious and accommodating hosts I felt compelled to let all my fellow fishermen in on one of the best locations on the St Lawrence River for fishing. For starters the cottage on the river is perfect for an extended stay. It is clean and comfortable with a great porch overlooking the water. It is minutes from numerous boat launches and is in the heart of some of the best fishing to be found on the St. Lawrence. Believe me, I have stayed at numerous VRBO's from Messena to Cape Vincent on the American side and several locations on the Canadian border and this location in Mallory town is without exception the best stay and best fishing that I have experienced to date. There was ample parking for my truck and boat and outside electrical for my battery charger. Peggy and Peter were outstanding hosts and I can't thank them enough for sharing their cottage. I will definitely be coming back.

We had a lovely stay at this charming waterfront cottage! It’s clean and comfortable, and Peggy was communicative and helpful from check in to departure. The cottage is private and secluded, and very quiet. Although there is no dock, we were able to walk down the steps and right into the river to launch our paddleboards. It’s a lovely area for paddling with Jones Creek close by (much calmer than the St Lawrence and only a five minute paddle off the big river.) Paddleboarders should be aware that the conditions can change rapidly on the St Lawrence, and the wind can really pick up. Certainly didn’t stop us from going out but I wouldn’t recommend venturing out past the small islands, it’s much rougher and windier out there than in the bay. The screened in porch allows a lovely breeze and we enjoyed watching the boat traffic from the deck. With windows on three sides there is no need for air conditioning, there always seemed to be a breeze off the river. Absolutely perfect in the evenings. Location of the cottage is awesome if you’re looking to go hiking. Landon’s Bay, Jones Creek, and Mallorytown Landing hikes are close by. It’s a 15 minute drive into Brockville for everything you may need, and about a half hour from Gananoque if you’re interested in a boat cruise or kayak tour of the Islands. Overall I can’t recommend this cottage enough, it’s perfectly situated as a home base if you want to enjoy the activities in the area, or comfortable enough to just chill.

Charming spot

A charming, rustic cottage set amongst the trees with a deck overlooking the river and a beautiful green island. Watching the abundant birdlife, Osprey, Eagles, Heron, Kingfishers, ducks... was a highlight! Lots of cycling and paddling destinations on the doorstep. Comfortable for 2 couples and the hosts, Peggy and Peter were warm, welcoming and helpful!

Wow!

I spent a week with my spouse and 5 year old. Peggy is incredibly sweet and communicated well so we knew exactly what to expect. She met us upon check in and showed us around. This is a cottage, no frills or gimmicks but well equipped and has one of the most incredible views. We spent our time swimming at a beach close by, boating, fishing and enjoying the outdoor space. The back deck has lots of space to hang out and we made use of the bbq provided. This place allowed us to disconnect and enjoy each other as well as the beautiful area of the 1000 islands. Don’t hesitate to book with Peggy!
