Fully furnished Tuscan apt with panoramic valley views for mid-term stays. Full kitchen, laundry, 50Mbps WiFi, utilities included, olive grove jacuzzi + gym.
Il Fienile is a private first-floor apartment in an 18th-century organic farmhouse above Pescia — available as an extended stay of one to five months between November 2026 and March 2027. It is for two people who have decided to stop visiting Tuscany and start living in it for a season.
The apartment takes its name from the hayloft it once was. Its defining feature — the one long-stay guests consistently describe as the thing they did not expect to matter as much as it does — is a large picture window that frames the valley below completely. In winter that view is specific: misted valley floor in the mornings, sharp pale hills on clear days, the particular low Tuscan light that painters have been trying to capture for five centuries.
The Space — Fully Furnished, Mid-Term Ready • Large picture window with panoramic Svizzera Pesciatina valley views • Open-plan kitchen and living area with dining table • Double bedroom with quality mattress and fresh linen • Private bathroom with walk-in shower, bidet • Fully equipped kitchen: oven, hob, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, refrigerator, full cookware • Elevated first-floor position — the quietest apartment on the estate
Note: Il Fienile is accessed by an external stone staircase. For guests with significant mobility requirements, La Stalla or L’Arancio (both ground floor) are more practical.
Remote Work Setup — Ready for Digital Nomads & Extended Stays
• 50Mbps WiFi — tested stable for video calls and remote work • Quiet elevated workspace with valley views — the rare home office you actually want to sit at • Two washing machines on-site — on-property laundry, no laundrette runs • Quiet neighbourhood — no road noise, no urban rush • Free private parking · EV charger on-site • Free unlimited mineral water
La Marginella’s outdoor spaces are built for long stays. The wood-fired outdoor jacuzzi sits inside the olive grove — not adjacent, not overlooking, but within ancient trees that predate the farmhouse. From Il Fienile’s elevated position you can see it at night, the fire lit, smoke rising through dark olive branches. • Wood-fired outdoor jacuzzi set within the ancient olive grove • Cold plunge pool alongside the jacuzzi • Outdoor fitness zone with functional training equipment • Swimming pool with unobstructed valley views (warmer months) • BBQ grills on the outdoor dining terrace • Shaded al fresco dining areas, olive grove, orchard, garden terraces

November at La Marginella — The Olive Harvest Guests arriving in November can witness or join the olive harvest — one of the oldest agricultural rituals in the Tuscan hills. The same groves surrounding the farmhouse produce the certified IGP extra virgin olive oil that could be on your kitchen table. Giovanni welcomes long-stay guests to pick, watch, or simply stand in the grove while it happens.
Living at La Marginella — A Working Organic Estate La Marginella is a working organic estate, and over a long stay its rhythms become yours. The olive harvest in November. La Marginella was brought back to life by Giovanni Cavalzani — a man who had lived, in every sense, a European life before choosing to come home to Tuscany.
Born in the neighbouring village of Collodi — the village of Pinocchio — Giovanni spent decades living across the continent: Paris, London, Rome, Heidelberg, Munich. For many years he ran one of Germany’s most celebrated Italian restaurants, the legendary Ristorante Savoy in Munich.
Fluent in four languages and at ease in any city in Europe, he had the kind of life that most people only read about. At a certain point, he found himself drawn back — to this hillside, these olive trees, this particular quality of afternoon light.
Some places, it turns out, you cannot leave forever.
He brought with him a lifetime’s understanding of hospitality and the perspective of someone who has seen the world and knew exactly what he was choosing instead. For extended stays, Giovanni is less a host than a neighbour who happens to know everything.
Giovanni stewards the estate with dedication to the organic farming practices that earned its olive oil the highest Italian certifications: Biologico and IGP.
It was not, in the end, a business decision. It was a homecoming. Living here for one to five months, you will understand why.
Por qué escogió este alojamiento
La Marginella sits in the hills above Pescia, in the landscape locals call the Svizzera Pesciatina — the Pescia Switzerland. Sismondi, the Genevan intellectual, compared these mountains to his Alpine homeland in the 19th century. He was the first outsider to name what locals had always known: this corner of Tuscany is quietly extraordinary and almost completely overlooked.
For a long stay, this is the point. The Svizzera Pesciatina has all the infrastructure of a properly inhabited Tuscan town — without the flocks of tourists that follow the more famous names. After two weeks you stop being a visitor and start being someone who lives here. For remote workers, you are not working from a holiday destination; you are working from a place with the rhythm of actual Italian life.
Everything practical is close. Pescia is 4 km — supermarkets, pharmacies, a hospital, weekly market, restaurants. The spa towns of Montecatini Terme and the Grotta Giusti thermal cave at Monsummano Terme become weekly rituals. Lucca’s Christmas market is a Tuesday evening out in December. Florence under an hour.
Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
Il Fienile offers something surprisingly rare: an elevated private apartment in an 18th-century farmhouse with an uninterrupted view of a valley most visitors never reach, and outside — a wood-fired jacuzzi inside an ancient olive grove, a cold plunge alongside, and an outdoor gym with hillside views. Available for one to five months in the winter season most comparable properties close for.
The view is the story. In winter it is at its most specific: misted valley floor in the mornings, sharp clear January noons, amber November dusks, long still February evenings. None of these versions repeat. All are worth the month.
At €2,190/month all-inclusive — rental, utilities, WiFi, firewood policy, on-site laundry, EV charger — Il Fienile is for two people who want to spend a winter somewhere beautiful, elevated above the ordinary, with a view that changes every day for a month and still isn’t finished changing when they leave.
