Outstanding waterfront cottage

The cottage was super clean, stocked with everything we needed and in a perfect location. Outstanding views, sunrises and sunsets. It was vey private, yet close enough to anything we needed. Kate & Daniel were pleasant and quickly responded to any question we had. Would highly recommend and would love to come back and stay again.

We’re Obsessed!

We had the best time while staying at this incredibly beautiful beach cottage. Waking up to the sun over the water each morning, sipping coffee on the deck, strolling down the beach with wine in hand, it was the perfect getaway for my family. We can not wait to stay here again.

Relaxing retreat!

Our stay at the beach house was perfect! The house is very welcoming, beautifully decorated, clean, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay! The views from the sitting area are incredible and we very much enjoyed hearing the waves crash on the shore. My dog loved being able to run on the beach and escape the hectic lifestyle of NYC. We will definitely be back!!!

Nice house literally on the beach

A quintessential beach house atop a short hill above the sand and rock beach. Peaceful and quiet. The only thing that could make this house better would be if it was on the South Fork where the beaches are all sand.

We wanted a relaxing week away from NYC and we got more than we ever dreamed. A perfect, charming home with some of the most stunning views we've ever seen. Secluded, quiet, peaceful, yet plenty to do if you're interested in exploring nearby towns, farmstands and wineries. It was a lovely week and Kate was always reachable and helpful. Looking forward to staying there agin.

Perfect place to enjoy fall on the east end

I had a lovely stay at the cottage. From beginning to end the hosts were wonderful. The inside of the cottage is modern, spare, and beautiful. The drive into the property is peaceful - I saw deer almost everyday. But nothing compares to the view. I did not want to leave.

My friends and I thoroughly loved the cottage. It was perfect even with less than good weather. The area was wonderful in that special early spring way. The views,beach, private roads were lovely. Very Relaxing Oasis on the North Fork

We had a fantastic 2 weeks at this oasis at the beach. It's a perfect central location/home base for NoFo vacation. The wall to wall windows and sliding doors made for relaxing days and evenings. Loved being able to open the doors early and listen to the waves crash on the beach with my morning coffee. Great kitchen with most of what we needed. The master bed is high for those who can/can't climb up. While the beach is accessible, it is a very steep walk down that I was not able to take advantage of. Neighbors had dogs they let wonder off leash and came through the porch more than once during our stay. If you bring a dog, forewarned. Overall, highly recommended.

Perfect Northfork Family Getaway

Our first impression when we walked in was how clean and beautifully decorated the cottage was. Then of course, there is the view! Getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it immediately relaxed us just by taking in the beautiful view of the water. The cottage had thoughtful details throughout and the kitchen was equipped with even plastic containers! There was a welcome document which answered any questions we had and Kate checked in on us half way through the week. She was a perfect host and the place was just perfect for our little family’s first holiday together. We had an 8 month old baby and it was so lovely to play with her in the ocean breeze with the french windows open. Nearby, the cottage is perfectly located to various family activities such apple picking, strawberry picking, farms and for parents - some lovely vineyards. All in all, we had a lovely week and hope to return in the near future.

Relaxing - A Perfect getaway

A splendid sound-side espace

The house was everything we needed post-COVID: a beautiful space, a beautiful view, and it even turned out to be super functional for our small family and dog. The owners were very accommodating with the cottages many amenities and their recommendations were great! We loved our stay!

Amazing, truly private beachfront rental

We spent the entire month of July at this delightful rental with our family (two parents, one small child, one too-large dog), our first extended stay in the North Fork after years of visiting Montauk. There were a number of factors that drove our decision, but direct waterfront access and privacy were two primary ones, and the rental delivered in spades. Set up on a bluff (which provides stunning sound views and fantastic sunsets), the beach was accessed via a short stroll down a gravel boat ramp. Most mornings we would rise with the sun (or more accurately our daughter, who rose with the sun like clockwork), brew a pot of coffee and head down to the beach for stroll. With literally miles of undeveloped beachfront, we could walk the better part of 60-90m without ever seeing another soul. Afternoons were often spent driving to a local vineyard, nearby village or other destination -- fortunately the immediate accessibility of Garden of Eve and Briermere meant that organic veggies and the like were never too far away, though there are a number of fantastic farm stands 15-20m due east that are worth a visit as well. But invariably we would look forward to returning to the house for a relaxing evening spent watching the sunset on the deck and preparing a simple meal with whatever we had foraged nearby. With no TV to tempt us we were able to truly unplug, and spent our evenings sitting on the couch listening to the waves and truly unwinding. The one major selling point we hadn't anticipated was the Wadia family, who both own the rental and their own vacation home next door. Kate and Daniel were phenomenally accommodating and helpful, and even allowed us to invite our family and friends to come celebrate our daughter's one year birthday during a weekend afternoon. Any questions or minor issues were immediately responded to and resolved, and they freely shared their knowledge of area and offered tips and advice for how to spend our time. We can't say enough about what amazing hosts they were. The house is small but economical, and we frequently had grandparents or family in for multi-night visits, which never proved an issue. The recent work done on the house gives it a delightfully minimalist aesthetic (the pictures do it justice), all the better the enjoy the environment and privacy the location offers. If you're looking for a true retreat from city life or otherwise just want to unplug, it's hard to imagine a better location.

The Sequel Was Somehow Even Better Than The Original

We had such a magical return trip. There is simply no more beautiful or convenient spot from NYC with beach, wine, farm, food, and magic for toddlers and parents alike. The house is perfectly positioned for maximum fun and gorgeous itself. What a gift!

We just returned from a long weekend at the Beach Cottage and can not express enough how much we enjoyed our stay. The cottage is just as clean and beautiful in person as it is in photos. Kate and her husband were very responsive and helpful. As this was our first time in the North Fork, the carefully crafted guide they provided us with information on farm stands, restaurants, vineyards, etc. was extremely helpful. The cottage had everything we needed for a wonderful relaxing weekend. We will definitely be back soon!

3 semaines de bonheur absolu dans ce petit paradis protégé. Le cottage est conforme à la description, parfaitement équipé, entretenu et décoré. La situation est unique, ses alentours somptueux. Nous avons profité de nombreux levés et couchés de soleil inégalables. Nos hôtes ont le savoir faire avec gentillesse et discrétion. Tout n'est que douceur et tranquillité. I am an Australian born designer that lives in NYC and has been renovating homes for the past several years. Our Flatiron loft in NYC was featured in Dwell Magazine, I designed the Upper West Side apartment for the founder & CEO of Soul Cycle, and my husband and I recently renovated our family's neighboring weekend beach house on the North Fork. I have a passion for turning houses into homes by bringing the clean, breezy and natural aesthetic, inspired by my homeland in Australia.

The North Fork is a special place, only a 90-minute drive from NYC and yet surrounded by serenity and nature. Years ago my husband and I rented Soundfront homes all over the North Fork. After buying and gut renovating our own Soundfront beach house, we purchased this second, neighboring beach cottage to preserve the privacy and land that had previously been owned by a family for over 100years. Having looked at every Soundfront property on the North Fork, there is literally nothing quite as private or charming as this property. Here's to the next 100 years of this propery being in my family!
