I always heard about the phantom reviews on the host forums. You have a great experience, receive wonderful feedback and then get a review docking you stars, but without any explanation. Carley Byron and her family stayed at the barn over the holidays. We had great communication and she left me wonderful feedback after they checked out. After receiving such nice comments about their stay, I kindly asked if she would consider leaving a review (via the vrbo feedback button). She did, but the tone was completely changed and only 4 star. I’m not sure what happened. I can only presume that the barn was perhaps too small for them. She originally booked for 7 (which is the maximum), but per the outdoor camera arrived with 10. I didn’t mention as it was Christmas and just let it go. I know how expensive traveling with kids can be and even though I have a much larger home for rent on the property that sleeps up to 10 comfortably, it’s double the price. The feedback below is what I received from her when they checked out. I can only chalk up the official review that was left and the docking of stars to things that make you go…. Hmmmm? “I just wanted to let you know that we’ve checked out and are on our way home. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay — your home was perfect for our family and made our Louisiana trip really special. We truly appreciated how comfortable and well-prepared everything was. Wishing you all the best, and thanks again for your hospitality!”

I booked this for my daughter and my new son-in-law for their mini Honeymoon.Her wedding was in Abita and we used the large house Whispering Oaks for the day of getting ready for the wedding. The out of town Bridal Party guest stayed in the Main house. The Barn was suitable for the groom and groomsmen to get ready while waiting to do pictures.

We loved our stay at this adorable VRBO in Covington, LA! It was cute, clean, and very roomy. Perfect for our family. The location was ideal, centrally located to everything — Abita Springs, Mandeville and downtown Covington. You can tell the owners put a lot of heart and hard work into making this place special.The beds were super comfortable and our two kids loved having both the sleeper sofa and futon! The bathrooms were clean and spacious, and the half bath downstairs was a great bonus. The owner was wonderful to communicate with both friendly and responsive.We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
