TENGA EN CUENTA: la construcción está actualmente en marcha en varios edificios en el complejo Southwinds debido al daño del huracán Florence en 2018. Nuestro edificio está aprobado para su ocupación, pero algunos trabajos comenzarán más adelante este otoño o invierno. Tendremos aproximadamente 1 mes de aviso de reparaciones. Es un corto trayecto en coche por la carretera o un corto paseo por la playa para llegar al Parque Estatal Fort Macon. No fumar y no mascotas! Southwinds no permite que los remolques o botes se estacionen aquí. Incluye ropa de cama, toallas de baño y limpieza. Ideal para familias y genial para niños en verano. En las semanas de primavera / otoño y hombro, ideal para escapadas románticas y relajación lenta.

This was a lovely place for my very first getaway on my own. This was my first time staying in this particular place, but hopefully it won’t be my last. It was a very nice condo and exceptionally clean. It had a very cozy home away from home feel, I had everything I needed and felt very safe being there by myself. The host was very responsive and helpful. It’s very close to many nice restaurants, many within walking distance and has access to on property pools. It has private beach access which is definitely a plus and is within walking distance to Fort Macon which is one of my favorite beaches in the area. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you so much for a wonderful getaway.

Both myself and my sister were able to book with Michael, he has 2 units and it was perfect for us to have our own space and routine but be able to do all the things we wanted to do together. There was space for everything we needed. Plenty of beds! We were over looking the pool and just a quick walk through the parking lot to the beach access! This was the perfect location and had everything our kids love about beach vacations.

Just had a besties weekend with a very dear friend. The 2 bed, 2 bath unit was very comfortable, and the perfect size for us. Our host was attentive without being intrusive. We spent three days on the beach and had a wonderful time. My only negative was the 17 steps up to the first floor where we were staying. Trying to carry anything up those stairs was a challenge. We are both in our mid-60’s. Whew!

Wonderful Condo!

This was a wonderful place to stay! The condo was clean, well stocked, convenient to the beach and 2 pools. Communication on behalf of host was excellent. Checkin process was clear and easy. Our family was very comfortable and the space was well organized. Will look to stay again in the future.

Perfect for young children!

Our third year spent at Michael’s place was just as good as always! Rare to find rentals where you don’t have to rewash dishes before using and can feel confident in the cleanliness of the sheets. Bunk beds are a favorite and the other condo owners are lovely!

Family vacation

This was the perfect place for our little family vacation. Beach access and pool access was a short walk away. Short drive to just about anywhere you want to go for food and entertainment. Communication with the owner was great! The guards and neighbors were super nice. The kitchen was fully stocked. The only thing I brought from home was my crock pot and waffle iron. It was awesome having the washer and dryer in the unit. The teenage kids complained a bit about the wifi, but even that worked out for the best. It got them off their phones! I would absolutely recommend this place. Thank you for the memories!

Best beach trip ever!

Location was perfect! 5 minutes or less to Ft Macon trails. Wonderful pools, beautiful landscaping. We enjoyed Beaufort, beach walks, yummy seafood. It was perfect in every way.

Perfect for a small family- our 2nd stay!

We love this place.. our second time staying! Tame, safe, and easy proximity to Fort Macon (great location for runners!). Comfy beds, soft sheets, and easy contact with Michael. You can’t go wrong here!

My daughter and I moved into this condo unit when she was 2 years old. We lived here for 7 years. I renovated the unit to make it comfortable to live in year-round or one week at a time! Everything is new, easy to use, and easy to clean. New AC/heat, new appliances, new washer/dryer. Wall was moved in master bedroom to allow a full-size bathroom that two people can use at the same time. Maybe the only such master bathroom in Southwinds. This also added closet space in the master bedroom. I chose Southwinds because it is a family oriented complex and kid friendly. My daughter has made many friends with kids coming down during the summer. She learned to swim in the pool by trying to keep up with the 'big' kids while shunning my advice. Usually there are some kids at the pool or beach to make friends with. However, it never gets too crowded or noisy that you can't relax and have a romantic getaway.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Southwinds is at the quiet end of Atlantic Beach near Fort Macon. From the Southwinds beach to the left is a 200-yard walk to the bath houses at Fort Macon State Park with a full concession. Freezer pops and ice cream used to be only 50 cents. Walk a mile further to Beaufort Inlet and Fort Macon - the actual Civil War brick fort that is full of cannons and reenactments. Friday night concerts are held in Fort Macon during the summer. During the day, bunny rabbits run across the front lawn. Sometimes large turtles crawl across the lawn. At night you may see foxes trot across the Southwinds parking lot, but they are shy and run away quickly. Bring a flashlight to the beach at sundown and look for ghost crabs along the edge of the surf. Sea turtles come to the area and lay their eggs during late Spring / early Summer nights and hatch during a full moon in the early Fall. Sea turtle nests are wired off and protected. Volunteers monitor the nests close to hatch time and the public can watch the turtles hatch if you are lucky enough to be there at the right time.

From Southwinds beach to the right is a two mile walk to the Oceana Pier, the Atlantic Beach circle and main public beach. Amos Mosquito's Restaurant is only half a mile down the road from Southwinds, with other restaurants just a little further down the road.
