Shell Castle es nuestra cabaña más espaciosa, con espacio para acomodar hasta 10 personas. Disfrute de las vistas al mar desde la terraza del lado del océano y aprovechar el corto paseo hasta el acceso a la playa. Con cuatro dormitorios, incluyendo dos maestros con camas king, baños completos y acceso a la cubierta, uno con una reina, y otro con dos gemelos, así como 2. 5 baños adicionales, Castillo de Shell tiene todas las comodidades del hogar. La gran cocina, comedor y sala de estar con chimenea y vista al mar ofrecen un buen espacio para reuniones de grupo. Un área separada de la guarida con la TV ofrece el espacio de relajaci��n adicional para los grupos más grandes.

My Happy Place

First time this far down the island and we will be returning! Nice relaxing environment and house was absolutely perfect! Also highly recommend the Cockeyed Clam!

Nice home steps from beach

Spacious home with nice views of the ocean. Good place for families with pets. Right next to the pool/ hottub that is shared with other houses.

Two main issues, EXTREMELY moldy washing machine, very gross. THE DECK is a splinter nightmare and very wobbly in places. Be careful. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time. Be aware that it is very difficult to walk to the beach due to man made dunes post-Erin and sandbags which are slippery and very large. Due to this, we will not be returning to this section of Buxton.

30th birthday

I booked the house for my friend’s 30th birthday and we had a blast! The location was ideal, the property was clean. I loved that each bathroom was a good size and not cramped and the fact that the water got hot almost instantly when taking a shower and wasn’t impacted if we all took showers at the same time. The views were awesome. Definitely nice to wake up and see a beautiful sunrise from our decks.

Lovely house but disappointing service

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house and location were lovely. The office was closed for the week due to holidays but we did not have sheets for one of the beds making it unusable. We reached out to the phone number and email the office shared with us but no one contacted us. We tried 4-5 times hoping we could get a set of sheets and use the bed and be comfortable. There was also a tornado warning and severe weather one day but no one checked on us. I work in hospitality and we never shut down - never to customers. Someone is also there to ensure the guests are safe and comfortable.

Clean and Close to Everything

This house was very clean. It's a lot closer to the ocean than described which was a pleasant surprise. All but one bedroom had a private bathroom - another perk. Close to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, restaurants, bait shops and both grocery stores (FL and Conners). Only downfall was the lack of kitchen essentials - only 2 silicone potholders and low quality pots/pans. We made the best of it and came prepared after reading other reviews. Again, it was very clean which is a sticking point for me.

House has the perfect layout for both privacy and togetherness for a family with a 4 bedroom needs. This is a rare house that allows 2 dogs, which we needed. Excellent location for fishing and all the necessities of shopping close by. We have vacationed in this house on two consecutive Thanksgiving weeks, and will always check on availability here first for future vacations. Love it!

We are always surprised to see the changes that have been made when we return each year. The Perfect Location

We were in Buxton in Mid April, the weather was beautiful and the area is quiet then and less commercial than the northern part of the island. We enjoyed nice long walks near the lighthouse and the ferry ride to Ocracoke Island. The house was clean and the management addressed any concerns quickly. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

Good location - although we expected their to be a beach out front and it was all sandbagged - it would have been nice to know that up front but there are lots of great beaches within driving distance. The kitchen could have been stoked with some additional equipment (we had to go out and buy a spatula) but overall we really enjoyed it and would stay there again.

Wonderful stay

The accommodations were clean and comfortable with plenty of dining table surface and seating. Whether eating or relaxing watching TV. Just steps from the beach which also provided plenty of family space. Parking underneath to keep vehicles and fishing gear out of the sun and elements. Two decks to lounge on with a nice view of the beach.

Yearly Birthday Family Retreat

Being a surfer this is one of my favorite spots. Shell Castle is well equipped and we love the big living/dining/kitchen area and big deck to sit out and watch the sunrise, ocean and stars.
