Off-Grid Experience Without Sacrificing Comfort | Treehouse on Lay Lake.
Escape to the treetops and unwind at our modern off-grid cabin perched above Lay Lake. Designed for those who crave nature without compromising convenience, this 2-bedroom + sleeping loft retreat offers all the comforts of home—including Wi-Fi, AC, dishwasher, laundry, and lake access—while running fully off-grid.
The space:
Sleeping Arrangements
The cabin comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests:
• Bedroom 1: Queen bed
• Bedroom 2: Full bed
• Sleeping Loft: Queen floor mattress
The loft is accessed by a vertical ladder and has a low ceiling. Recommended for guests ages 12+. Ladder has a 250 lb weight limit.
Arrival & Access Info
• The gravel driveway is about one mile long and winds through the woods to the cabin.
• Cars can access the driveway, and many guests have arrived in standard vehicles. However, for a smoother ride—especially in wet conditions—we recommend a medium to high clearance vehicle.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome—up to 2 max. Please clean up after pets and keep them off the furniture unless using provided covers. A small pet fee applies. Let us know ahead of time if you’re bringing furry friends!
Please leash your pets outdoors. The cabin is in the middle of the woods, and there is abundant wildlife on the property. Unleashed pets may chase animals or become difficult to locate.
There is a chicken coop on-site that is surrounded by an electric fence for predator protection. For safety, children and pets must be kept away from the electric fence at all times.

This home runs fully off-grid with solar power and battery storage, while offering all the comforts of a modern home:

You may occasionally hear a generator kick on depending on weather or power usage. This is part of the home’s efficient off-grid system and is fully automated.
While guests are free to use all amenities, please be mindful that excessive power or water use (like leaving lights or AC on while away, or taking very long showers) can impact battery performance. We appreciate guests who help keep this off-grid retreat running smoothly by turning off unused devices and being conscious of consumption—without sacrificing comfort.

Private Airstrip + Paramotor Flying (By Request Only)
The property includes a private airstrip occasionally used for paramotor flying and small aircraft takeoffs or landings. While not visible from the cabin, you may hear or spot aircraft activity—an exciting bonus for aviation lovers.
Guests may request pre-approval to use the airstrip for flying in or paramotor use. All airstrip activity must be coordinated in advance with the host.
Outside of approved use, the airstrip and surrounding area remain off-limits for safety reasons. Guests may observe from a distance but must not enter or approach the runway without permission.
Please review the provided property map upon arrival for clearly marked restricted areas and property lines.

• Smoking is permitted outside only. Please keep doors closed while smoking to prevent smoke from entering the cabin. A $300 cleaning fee will apply if indoor smoking is detected.
• No firearms or shooting are permitted anywhere on the property.
• All guests must sign a digital liability waiver prior to check-in due to lake access, wildlife, loft ladder, and proximity to the airstrip.
• The cabin sits very close to the water, so guests with children or pets should use caution near the shoreline.
• Avoid contact with the electric fence surrounding the chicken coop.
