Peace & Simplicity in a Little Red Cabin on the Farm

Our sweet little red cabin at Four Bucket Farms LLC is ready for guests!  Located on the front corner of our 16 acre hobby farm in Lena, IL, this 400 sq ft cabin was built by our family with help from friends.  It has a welcoming front porch, master bedroom with queen bed, sleeping loft with two twin XL mattresses, pull-out couch, a small kitchenette and 3/4 bath.  Our farm is home to a small herd of Highland cows, chickens, cats, dogs and occasionally a flock of turkeys. We are surrounded by farmland and 1/4 mile down the dirt road from the back access of Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park.  We welcome friendly dogs (2 dog maximum), they must be on leash at all times and there is a $25 pet fee.
We are very proud of this project and hope you'll consider it the next time you're looking for a cozy, comfortable, peaceful place to relax in the country.

This is the cutest little place, and it served as the perfect NYE getaway from the city noise and lights for me & my dog. They have everything you could need on hand and the close proximity to Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park was just the cherry on top. The hosts were also very responsive when I had questions, which was very appreciated! I would absolutely rebook in the future.

Great cabin and set-up! Out in the country, but still the convenience of being near town. The electric fireplace makes the whole space feel very cozy!

It's a very simple building but still easy to get warm despite it being cold enough to snow overnight. The property was clean and tidy, and the choice of furniture and fittings was well thought out. It was easy to find and located at the front of the farm just off a quiet dirt track, it's like having the place to yourself, which is exactly what I wanted. I spent one of the days in the Cabin and walking to the state forest preserve without driving, but there are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores in the nearby towns. I definitely recommend it.

The fall leaves bursting with red and yellow glowing against the clear blue sky - our stay in the Little Red Cabin was a perfect retreat. Close enough to the small town of Lena to be useful but far enough away to be secluded. Explore Lake Le-Aqua-na only 3 minutes away. The turkeys were a surprise!We will definately be back.

Great getaway location on private site. Super clean and nicely decorated, this cabin was perfect for multi-day visits of the surrounding area. Quiet, with a shaded porch and seating area this site is easy to find. Planning to include on future visits.

We moved our family from the Chicago suburbs to the small town of Lena in fall 2020. Since then, we’ve added animals to the hobby farm, expanded the garden and completed this small cabin so that family, friends and guests can also enjoy this quiet corner of the world.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

One look down the tree-lined drive and we fell in love with the property. It also has rolling hills, tons of mature trees, beautiful views and it’s on a quiet, gravel road.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The little red cabin sits in the southwest corner of our working hobby farm that has Highland cows, turkeys, chickens, our cats and dogs. We are also 1/4 mile down the gravel road from a gorgeous state park.
