Overall great stay! Perfect and simple location- close to everything downtown. Nice mid-week getaway for our anniversary! Everything in the home was in good condition, clean and well stocked. Simple condiments and spices would have been nice to have but not a deal breaker. Parking was adequate for my small SUV but the large boulders made it hard to get off the road. Thankfully a quiet side street. A few areas of improvement- the VRBO ad stated check in was 3pm but host said we could check in after 4pm. Then check out was posted at 11am but host said we needed to check out by 10am. We didn't question the host but felt they should stand up to the times posted as we'd made plans accordingly and had to alter them a bit. Secondly- the heat was very hard to regulate in late September. We only used the main floor and we were either freezing or cooking with the single gas fire and space heaters and 2 were not working. Not sure how to fix that issue simply but just be prepared to cook in the living room and freeze at the table and bathrooms. We didn't use the upstairs but would imagine it to be similar.

Host was great, property management was great. They were very helpful when we requested necessary amenities. The cottage was too small for two families. The photos were misleading online. The house was cold even with the fireplace and the space heaters. I know you can’t help mother nature, but there were spiders everywhere everyday. The bedroom downstairs there was a stain on the comforter. There was a kitchen towel that was white that was stained probably from coffee. It did not seem thoroughly clean.I would not recommend staying there nor would stay there again.

The cottage is a cozy mountain home, and we always recommend reviewing the listed square footage and layout to ensure it’s the right fit for larger groups. The fireplace in the center of the home has always been known to keep the home comfortably warm, and we do provide additional space heaters in case anyone enjoys additional heat. We have not had ongoing concerns with the home staying warm. Cleanliness is very important to us, and had we been notified about specific items during your stay, we would have addressed them immediately. For future guests: this is a charming, well-maintained cottage best suited for those looking for a cozy McCall getaway within walking distance to downtown, and our team is always quick to respond to any needs that arise.
