Perfect

I think is not possible to find more nice people. The appartment was just perfect, exactly like the pictures. We enjoy a fabulous stay in a perfect location. The appartment is fully equiped. Grazie mille Sebastiano e tua moglie.

The hostabd his wife were kind and a pleasure to meet. The accomodation is very well located next to the Piazza Duomo but surprisingly quiet. The waterfront with its restaurants is literally two minutes away. The apartment was clean and well supplied with coffee, water and fruit. The bed was comfortable. The outside terrace was a quiet place to soak up the sun. (Even in November!)

Wonderful memories of this stay

From start to finish, this wa an excellent experience. Sebastiano and his wife Elsa went above and beyond to extend a warm welcome and to make sure we had everything we needed. They are proud of their town snd their appartment and they should be. We felt very much like invited guests.Ortigia is a charming island with the right mix of touristy and local vibe.If our travels ever bring us back to this area,we would gladly accept their hospitality..Ciao, Ortigia, e grazie mille.

A little gem

This place is cute as a button. The owner, Sebastiono, is kind and flexible. He also works through any language barriers! The location is perfect for an island on which a car would be a hassle!It has everything you need in a compact space.

We LOVED our stay in Ortigia. The location of the apartment was ideal. Our host was charming and quite simply outstanding. Sebastiano made us feel welcome and at home. He provided an excellent orientation to the apartment, recommended an exceptional assortment of fine restaurants and helped ensure that we enjoyed our stay. He was always available and quick to assist in any eventuality including the loss of a credit card. We arrived as his guests and left as friends.

Wonderful apartment

The owners had fresh fruit, cookies, orange juice, and waters waiting for us! We were delighted to stay in the apartment one block from the sea! It had everything we needed to do our own cooking and it was immaculate! Sleeping was available on the main level, but it was fun to walk up the spiral staircase to the upper bedroom with a skylight! It was very safe and secure, and we would definitely stay there again if we get the chance to go back to Ortegia! The very friendly hosts were so helpful in answering any of our questions!

Great host

The property is located near the center of the tourist area which is within short walking distance to the restaurants and waterfront. It is tucked in an area is quiet during the day. There is a small restaurant nearby which is open only at night. There can be some noise from the customers, but it is as can be expected staying near the center of activities. The area around the property is very clean. The property itself is eclectically decorated and well equipped with everything a traveler would need. The bedroom is at the attic level so one would need to manage a circular stairway. The host Sebastiano was very friendly, and we had very good communications. He was flexible and responsive. We had to change my travel plan and we were able to come to a mutual agreement. We had an issue with the bathroom and Sebastiano took care of it right away. He prepared some fruit and bottled water for us when we arrived. It was obvious that Sebastiano tried to make sure that we had a pleasant stay at his property, and we had.

Lovely, characterful flat

Sebastiano's small home was packed with character and a very convenient base for explorations in the wider area. He couldn't have been more helpful as a host, providing us with plenty of advice and local travelling tips. Highly recommended, an authentic Syracusian experience!

Fantastic house in the great location

We had an amazing time in this very pretty atmosphere house located 2 min from Dom Square and 2 min from Fountain of Arethusa and a little beach. The house is clean and comfortable with all amenities needed, including a small terrasse. The host, Sebastiano is a very caring and kind person, we enjoyed our communication and will definitely recommend this unique place!

We enjoyed our entire stay & couldn’t have been happier with our VRBO. Mr. and Mrs. Previti thought of everything a guest might need. We wish we had read somewhere that the only place to park was in a general large lot as we originally tried to drive to our VRBO. Once we understood how to get there, we couldn’t have been more pleased. We highly recommend this VRBO

Ortigia delight

The couple who ran this apartment were wonderful. He took the time to help my husband find parking and explain the island. He recommended the best gelato that we had probably for our entire time in Sicily. They also left fruit and eggs for us just in case we needed it. I took a star off for the loft bedroom. It could be hard for anyone who has mobility issues. There is also only one TV in the other bedroom. Please note that if you do drive it is approximately one kilometer from where you park. Overall, nice apartment.

Like you actually live there!

This was a lovely apartment, cool despite the heat, large enough for three not to bump into each other too much, equipped with many small comforts that made our stay in Ortygia lovely! Amiable Sebastiano was most helpful: drawing a detailed map, explaining where we could purchase food and eat, and responding to our questions about transportation and history! We would happily stay at this residence again!

Incredible position, with incredible hosts

We had selected this property based on the very positive reviews from other travellers, and were not disappointed. This is a lovely little property nestled in the very heart of Ortigia, incredibly close to a huge number of bars and restaurants yet tucked just back in a peaceful courtyard. The accommodation is well suited for families, with the main bedroom on a mezzanine level up a little spiral staircase and a separate bedroom on the ground floor. The kitchen was well equipped, and the washing machine in the bathroom was invaluable with a three year old. The position alone would be enough for us to recommend the property but what made our stay above all was the warm welcome we received from Sebastiano and his family. They kindly left water and snacks for our arrival, helped with our luggage from the Talete parking, and arranged a weekly parking permit for us. They live very close by, and run the shop just by the property and so were always on hand to help with questions and provide advice. This was particularly appreciated when I was struck down with tonsillitis on a feast day, and Sebastiano''s son drove me to the out of hours doctor, acted as translator and took me to the pharmacist to get antibiotics. Thank you for a wonderful stay, and for your generous hospitality - we hope to return in the future!

Wonderful

I cannot praise this accommodation, and Sebastiano and Elsa, too highly. The house is just a few metres from the Duomo piazza, the sea and the spring, so it is very convenient. But the thick walls and the double glazing keep it cool inside (with the effective air conditioning) and quiet. There are outdoor music performances some nights, but Sebastiano provides earplugs! Both bedrooms were spacious and the living area / kitchen is compact but very well-organised. The courtyard is shared with another property but we were always able to use it when we wanted it. Sebastiano provided a very generous supply of basic provisions. Both he and Elsa were warm, friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful, with excellent advice on where to eat and shop and visit (but never offering advice when it wasn't wanted). They own a ceramics shop next door to the property, so they are always on hand when you need them. Sebastiano very kindly got up early on Sunday morning to give us a lift to the station on our way home, and waited in case there was any problem with us getting tickets. That is just one example of his kindly concern to make sure that everything went well and that we enjoyed our stay. Syracusa is a wonderful place to stay- Ortigia is beautiful with plenty to see and do.

Perfect location, Wonderful Host

Sebastiano was the best host ever. He even helped us get a permit to park our car in historical center of Siracusa. He met us as soon as we entered the restricted zone, found us parking, and brought us to the apartment. He could not be a nicer guy. He runs a very cute pottery shop in the same square as the apartment, so he is always just around the corner if you need anything and he is willing to drop everything for the smallest question. The apartment is simple, but plenty comfortable enough for our family of four staying 3 nights. It is right next to all the action, yet secluded enough that is reasonably quiet. It is very short walk to the Duomo, which is on arguably the most beautiful square in Italy. We fell in love with Siracusa - amazing architecture in a beautiful setting with delicious food. Sebastiano recommends some excellent restaurants. The cannoli just before reaching the Duomo square is the best I have in the 6 months I have been in Italy. Pistachio was my favorite. Do not forget to visit the food market at the other end of Ortigia and try the cheese store near the far end (sea-side).
