Step into a lakeside paradise where the gentle slope of the beach leads you into the crystal-clear, spring-fed waters of Crystal Lake. Lounge under the beachside pavilion while music plays, the kids splash nearby, and the game plays quietly in the background on the retractable Roku-equipped TV. It’s the kind of setting where laughter echoes, time slows, and everyone finds their rhythm.

So here’s the backstory...
Before we got married, my wife made it clear she wasn’t totally on board with having kids—but said she’d consider it if I could deliver on five promises. (She was 20 at the time, so let’s just say I got lucky with the definitions. 😄)

I knocked out the first three pretty quickly. Jolene was able to volunteer her time with the boys' schools and be there for them as they grew into men. She got her dream Jeep in 2020. And on 2/22/2022, I finally delivered the last one-the lake house.
What we didn’t know at the time was that this house just so happened to be right next door to the one where she spent her favorite summers growing up. Total accident… but absolutely meant to be.
We named it The Fifth Promise because that’s exactly what it is: the final item on a list of commitments I made to the love of my life. It’s our little slice of paradise, and we’ve been improving it ever since-because fulfilling the promise wasn’t the end... it was the beginning of building something we could share. 💛
