Just a 2-minute walk to the beach and home to iconic surf breaks and winding rivers this is a place to drift into the local laid-back rhythm. It's a wonderland of world class beaches; Coolangatta, Snapper Rocks, Greenmout and the Tweed.
Curated to inspire and connect you to the natural surrounds, it’s perfect for special occasions, families, couples and friends seeking a stylish stay.
a Rainbow Bay Retreat is a 1969 apartment and the very first original high-rise on the headland. This coastal, art-filled holiday home blends the serenity of minimalism with nostalgic Gold Coast charm, evoking the spirit of 1970s surf and wellness retreats.
Inside, designer and custom low-profile furniture sit alongside contemporary works by local Gold Coast artists and collectible souvenirs of the region. Every detail has been thoughtfully chosen to create a serene, inspiring atmosphere; we soak in the salt bath, restore on the sauna mat, watch a film on the projector, or enjoy sunset BBQ dinner on the ocean-view balcony after a day exploring.
More than just a place to stay, the apartment is conceived as a family friendly art driven experience. Children are invited to explore a custom coloring book inspired by the local surroundings while the walls echo these themes through original artworks to ignite the imagination.
The fully equipped kitchen is designed for both everyday living and entertaining, with generous bench space, a large dining table, and beautiful tableware to elevate meals from casual brunches to special dinners. Rainbow Bay Retreat is a sanctuary that honors the past while embracing modern comfort.

We chose this neighbourhood for its rare position on the border of Queensland and New South Wales, giving you the best of both worlds and the perfect base to explore both states. Nestled between two headlands, there’s always a sheltered spot to swim or relax, no matter the wind or swell.
