Note: The cooling system is an evaporative cooler, or "swamp cooler," the typical air conditioning system in the Grand Valley and many other desert environments. It cools the house by pulling the warm, dry desert air through wet pads and pushing the cooled air into the house. While it doesn't get quite as cold as a traditional A/C, it maintains the house at a comfortable temperature and has the advantage of constantly drawing fresh, cool air into the house. It is also much more energy efficient for a more sustainable stay!
