Peaceful Ozark Farmhouse on 8 Acres - Near Buffalo River

Enjoy a peaceful country stay at Little House on the Ridge, a charming farmhouse tucked along the woods on 8 acres in the heart of the Ozarks. Whether you’re visiting family in the area, spending your days on the Buffalo National River, or simply looking for a quiet place to get away, this is a comfortable place to come home to.

Wildlife is part of the experience here, and deer are frequent visitors to the property. After a day of exploring, relax on the porch, grill on the back deck, gather around the fire pit, or simply enjoy the slower pace of country life.

The Buffalo National River is about 18 miles away, with several canoe outfitters nearby. You’ll also be within driving distance of Bull Shoals Lake, the White River at Cotter, and other favorite Ozarks destinations. Although the mailing address shows Valley Springs, the property is closer to the Yellville and Bruno areas.

Inside, the open living room and kitchen provide a comfortable place to relax and spend time together. The home has two bedrooms with queen beds. The second bedroom is a loft accessed by steep stairs, so please keep this in mind when booking, particularly for young children or anyone with mobility concerns. A queen sleeper sofa in the living room provides additional sleeping space and features an upgraded 5-inch Tempur-Pedic mattress.

The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals, and the back deck is conveniently located just off the kitchen for grilling and outdoor dining. Please note that the home does not have a dishwasher.

There’s plenty of parking, including room for a trailer, making it convenient for guests coming to enjoy the river and surrounding area.

Little House on the Ridge is a rural country property, so you may occasionally encounter deer, insects, and other wildlife. The home sits near a lightly traveled county road, and children and pets should be supervised while outdoors.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home by the Buffalo River! The house was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was absolutely perfect for enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of the Buffalo River and surrounding area.Our host was wonderful—friendly, responsive, and very helpful throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little House on the Ridge. The cabin was exceptionally clean, modern, and beautifully maintained. From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless, organized, and ready for our family.The home had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend and made the perfect base camp for our Buffalo River adventure. The beds were comfortable, the furnishings were tasteful, and the cabin felt both cozy and spacious. We especially enjoyed the peaceful setting, the front porch, and the outdoor fire pit area after a day on the river.It is obvious the owners take great pride in this property. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, and the cabin is in excellent condition. If you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable, and well-appointed place to stay near the Buffalo River, this is it.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The property is beautiful and in a quiet area but I loved how it feels conveniently located to everything. Stores, food, and canoe rentals were all less than 30 minutes away. The hosts provide everything and more…from cooking supplies to all the information about where to rent or rent your canoe to float, for things to do outside of the river, and best places to eat with menus. I’ve rented from others who barely give you a trash bag or one roll of toilet paper for a whole week but we found cold water bottles and abundant toiletries plus half way through our trip they even reached out to us and asked if they could pick up anything for us at the store.

We originally purchased the land and built Little House on the Ridge as a place for our family to enjoy the peace and natural beauty of the Ozarks. We’ve always loved this area and being close to the Buffalo National River and the outdoors. Since I already enjoyed hosting, it seemed only natural to share this special little place with others who want to experience the area too.

Little House on the Ridge is a newer farmhouse tucked along the woods on 8 peaceful acres. The loft bedroom adds character to the home, while the porch, back deck and fire-pit area give you plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors. Deer are frequent visitors, and spotting them around the property has become one of our favorite parts of this special little place. It’s a cozy, comfortable home base for enjoying the Buffalo River and the beautiful surrounding area.
