We’ve been married for 17 wonderful years and are blessed with 6 kids and 3 grandkids who keep life full of love and laughter. Traveling has always been a passion of ours, especially around the southeastern United States, where we enjoy discovering new places and making memories together.

Dan has a special role in our community as Santa Claus, spreading joy in Cincinnati, Ohio, while Gretchen often joins in as Mrs. Claus. It’s a tradition that brings us so much happiness each holiday season!

With our busy lives, we don’t always get to travel as much as we’d like—but hosting this cabin is part of our new adventure, and we’re excited to make more time for exploring, connecting, and sharing our love of the Smoky Mountains with our guests.

Smoky Pine Vista isn’t just a place to stay—it’s part of your Smoky Mountain adventure. Located just minutes from Dollywood and the Tanger Outlets, this cabin gives you the perfect mix of excitement and relaxation.

Inside, you’ll find cozy mountain décor, plenty of space to unwind, and unique touches like an arcade-style game and a collection of classic board games for hours of family fun. Step onto the deck to soak up the fresh air, or head outside to enjoy the community playground and seasonal pool right in view of your cabin. Whether you’re here for shopping, thrills, or chill time, Smoky Pine Vista offers a one-of-a-kind stay that keeps you close to it all.

There is an exterior security camera at the front door. There are NO views of the interior or the hot tub.

Our cabin, Smoky Pine Vista, is located in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. As a result, we do get various wildlife throughout the community. This can include our common black bears, coyotes, bobcats, wild turkeys, various reptiles, amphibians, and a great variety of 2-4-6-8 legged critters and insects. Please know:
- Cabin is on a comprehensive pest control program, but you may come across occasional lady bugs and other local insects.
- Laws protect our local black bear population. Do not *ever* approach or attempt to attract one of these fine animals. They are not tame, but also usually not dangerous. But like any animal, momma bears will protect their young, and every bear wants a free meal.
- DO not leave trash or food anywhere outside other than the bear-resistant trash enclosure.
- Especially do not leave food, or food trash, in your vehicle. Bears have a very keen sense of smell and have no issue breaking into a vehicle if they think a meal might be inside.
