Thanks for your review and your care of the condo while you were here--as well as your input on items that needed attention. We bought a new mattress and put it in as soon as we had an opening long enough. Finally we were able to repair the leak in the shower too--it now has a brand new faucet! Someone cut the break cables on one of the bikes so there is a brand new cruiser and we also had the patio screen repaired. Looks like some squirrels may have been around. We agree with you--the location is the most awesome part of our property. Working with the new property manager for the Home Owners Association on always improving the common area maintenance. This is an older building so it's always a challenge but the intent is to continue to make improvements to the building because all of the owners value their investment in this prime location. Hi there. I appreciate your review! I do believe the weather this last week has affected everyone's perception of everything! You are right about a couple of things. The building is older--it was built in 1967 but it has been very recently painted and updated. I think the hallways look dark when we have this unusual constant cloudy, rainy weather--and the carpets need to be cleaned now that winter is over.The price reflects the age of the building. For a more modern place your rate just about doubles. We agree that the location is the BEST thing about the property as well as the fact that you have a fully stocked kitchen, balcony, bicycles, private bedroom, reserved parking spot, laundry right across the hall. You get a lot for rates that are similar to a hotel without a bedroom. We do expect that most of our renters come to experience Fort Collins or visit family and not sit int he unit very much. Still we've tried to make the unit comfortable and we just had someone live there for 4 or 5 months who loved it--except for the bed. You came in immediately after they left and so we didn't have time to replace the mattress. But that is on my list--next time I have some down time I will be getting a new mattress for the bed since it seems it's that time. The darned faucet in the tub! We've had a plumber out three times and each time they have failed to fix it. This gets complicated because in order to make the repair they will have to turn off water in the entire building and drain it for several hours. Can't do anything about the walls. I've stayed in brand new condo buildings and you can hear the neighbors taking a shower and people opening doors, walking. That's the nature of a shared space. Let's hope for sun the next time you visit Fort Collins. It really does set the mood for a good trip. Aren't you the folks who asked to check in several hours early that I accommodated without charging the normal extra fee? I hope that helped to make your stay more pleasant.

Thank you for your comments. It is very helpful if folks will let me know while they are there if something is broken, missing etc. because I will always find a solution. We will be heading in today to replace batteries and lightbulb. I can also have my cleaning person come in while someone is there if they missed something like broken glass on the patio--or anything really. They are very good about returning if anything is missed. I can't do anything about issues if I'm not told until after the fact. Yes, I state right on the advertisement that the common areas are older so that should have been expected and that is one of the reasons I keep the rates lower than competitors who might have newer buildings and higher prices. The exciting news is that our new HOA Board is starting to put funding and effort into improvements in the common areas! I think within a year there will be very nice updates in place. As far as the security doors I did attend the board meeting last week and it sounds like some keys are not working properly with the new locks. I'll be looking into that to make sure my keys all work. However, the assigned parking spot for this building is on the other side and parking near the door you said did not work will cause cars to be ticketed and towed. This is clearly stated in the check-in instructions. The assigned spot for this unit is covered and conveniently located right next to the entrance to the lobby of the building.

Yes, when guests don't follow instructions regarding what to do with the keys when they leave it makes it difficult for the cleaning people, me and the following guests to figure out what is going on. Thanks for allowing us the fifteen minutes it took for someone to come open up the condo after we figured out that the previous guests didn't leave keys where you could access them. Too bad that you weren't able to take advantage of the early check-in I offered--we could have resolved that issue hours earlier. This is an older building (built in 1967). While the HOA does constantly try to upgrade the exterior--right now lots of the budget goes to things like new roofs on all three structures. Since the exterior is not resort quality we keep the price for the rental lower than what we would charge if this was a brand new building with shining new grounds and amenities. Also, thanks for letting me know about the bike pump--can't fix/replace things we don't know about. We will get a new one right away. I'm certain there were sheets on the bed so you must be talking about sheets for the sleeper sofa. The cleaning staff is usually quite thorough--I wonder if you just didn't open the compartment on the sofa where there are sheets, pillows and a blanket. I'll confirm with the cleaning staff that they are making sure those items are there. Please come and join us again--we have two other units in the building with two bedrooms. I feel one of the best things about a vacation rental rather than a hotel is the ability to prepare meals so I do try to keep everything I would want for cooking at home in the condo. Fort Collins is such a bike friendly community that having bikes and a place to keep them is really nice. This particular condo does really work well for those with mobility issues. So glad it was a good experience!
