Excellent views & super clean

We rented the house for a brother’s weekend getaway. Steve was very accessible re: communication (access codes, how to use amenities on property, etc). The location is excellent, the property is well-maintained & well-stocked…kitchen appliances, cooking utensils, plenty of bedding, even fire starters & seasoned firewood for the outdoor fire pit are on-site. Very nice experience!

Wonderful girls trip!

Lovely cabin with gorgeous breathtaking views. Lots of room. The porch was amazing especially with the rocking chairs. Really enjoyed the communal space and-enough seating for the 8 of us. Highly recommend .

Holiday Get away

Pictures are accurate. Beautiful place, fully equipped , clean and decorated for the holidays. My husband passed away, earlier this year, and we wanted a different holiday experience. This cabin was perfect. Steve communicate with us after the hurricane to assure us there was no damage to the cabin or the roads surrounding. We had so much fun. The place is comfortable and the fireplace added an ambiance , perfect for Christmas. highly recommend!

This property is Simply the Best!!! Beautiful Mountain View’s out the front and acres and acres of state land out the back to walk or discover (as long as you can walk back up the steep edge) We have attended the Sparta Apple Pie Festival 2 years in a row. It did not disappoint. BUT… This house is perfect for people, children and pets!! And to top it all off, Steve, the host, responds immediately to texts. He is the long distance tour guide, and has an answer to any and every question. He treated us like family, both years we stayed! 5 Stars for this VRBO!

This was our second time renting. Beautiful home, clean, well stocked and a the view is like no other. Towels and linen provided were clean too! Book this one, you won’t regret it!

Peaceful with breathtaking views

This is our second stay at this beautiful home. Secluded and peaceful with an outstanding view from the spacious deck where we enjoyed our coffee most mornings. The mountain ranges in the distance, changing of the leaves and all of the sounds of wildlife surrounding (mostly birds- but you may get lucky enough to see deer as well), the view never gets old, even on a rainy day. The sunsets from this location are phenomenal! The house is spacious enough to accommodate my family (including children ranging from toddler to teen), my in-laws and brother-in-law to all relax separately or gather for meals, games, etc. From a wide variety of kitchenwares to the super comfortable beds, the warmth of the living room and our favorite part- the deck, this home covers all of your needs, just bring groceries, coffee & wine and you're all set for a good time. The house is super clean and located within decent driving distance of many places- from in-town Sparta to Mt Airy to Meadows of Dan. Even taking a day to visit family in WV was a decent drive. We look forward to returning again.

Our recent stay was absolutely amazing. Everything was just as the pics online showed. The views were even more beautiful than we imagined. The house was extremely comfortable for everyone. Great bedrooms, large family room and kitchen. The deck and those rocking chairs were much used by the family. Overall great experience!

Best rental, Ever

My sisters and I went to the mountains to relax, regenerate, and decompress. We brought our dogs along. This property was perfect, with beautiful views and no close neighbors. Steve was a very responsive host and made sure we had everything we needed. We could not have asked for anything more. We will go back again and again!

Late April Visit

We had a group of five visit in late April for four nights. The place has a great setting and a great view. It was spacious and clean and well set up to accommodate a group of our size or an even bigger group. Our host, Steve, was super responsive and very helpful answering questions and providing suggestions. I am happy to recommend Steve's place to others.

Serenity was built to accommodate 2 golf foursomes and has been a family retreat for many years. With the family scattered throughout the southeast we have a hard time getting up to the mountains which is why we have opened our doors to you. We know you will love the peace and serenity of Rocky Acres Retreat.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The house sits on 1 acre and we also own another 5 acres adjacent to it. Our back yard is in fact a part of Stone Mountain State Park and across the gravel private drive is one house and another 50+ acres of undeveloped private property. So you are literally surrounded by dozens of acres of woods where the only neighbors are the wildlife. We are only a short walk from the Blue Ridge Parkway so some of the most beautiful scenery in the country can be seen from our deck or just a short walk down the driveway. We know you will enjoy the peaceful mountain life. Your only neighbors are the wildlife. With 2400 square feet of living space including a large patio and fire pit area your family and friends can enjoy gathering together and not feel cramped with plenty of seating space so everyone can spread out and truly relax.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Stone Mountain State Park is literally in our back yard and the Blue Ridge Parkway is a short walk away. You can walk 1.5 miles south on the Parkway to Stone Mountain Lookout. Park facilities are only a 15 minute drive from the house. 10 miles south down the Parkway is Doughton Park with a 6,000-acre landscape of open meadows and pioneer cabins and some of the best hiking around. Sparta, which is only 9 miles away has some of the best bluegrass music in North Carolina at the Muddy Creek Cafe and Music Hall. There are over thirty wineries within a 30 mile radius of our house. Just pick one or several to enjoy the day wine tasting. Antiquing is another activity you can enjoy. Include antiquing with wine tasting and have a blast. Down in Sparta is the New River State Park and New River Campground where you can enjoy the cool waters or a canoe or kayaking trip. Five golf courses are close by too. Get in 18 at either Roaring Gap Golf Course, Olde Beau Golf Club, Deer Creek Golf Course, Stone Mountain Golf Club and High Meadows Golf & Country Club. Buy some deer corn at the local store and place some in the center island in the driveway and sit on the deck and watch the deer come up to feed. The wrap around deck is large enough to put out the corn hole game (provided) and heat up the competition or just sit on one of the eight rocking chairs and enjoy the scenery. On those cold rainy days curl up by the stone gas log fireplace or enjoy the 55 inch Smart HDTV with Free Sling TV, NETFLIX and Amazon Prime or one of 200 DVD's. The full kitchen is a cooks delight with everything you need to make a cake or pie or whip up that old family favorite meal. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and experience some country living. The phone won't ring unless you give someone the number and it is so quiet outside you can hear the turkey gobbling in the woods and watch as the deer stroll by the house. You won't find a more peaceful retreat with so many amenities.
