Perfect getaway for the family

Beautiful home and lovely neighborhood made for a great vacation for our family. The master suite was a perfect place to retire after a day spent with the extended family, with room to relax, soak in the tub, and wind down. Close to all the fun of silver lake but tucked away in floradale made this the best quiet spot we’ve booked over many years coming to the area. Overall, a perfect booking! It’ll be the first place I check for availability when it’s time to return.

Great stay!

We had a great time on our family vacation! Our host was very detailed in the cottage description and we had everything we needed! It was very clean and we had plenty of space. We would love to vacation at the Chunky Monkey in the future!

Great place, great area.

Love Floradale and the whole upper area of that facility. Feels super classy! The house was well set up and the kids loved the TVs and Roku boxes to relax after a day in the dunes. Driveway was enough for a truck and trailer and neighbors were very friendly.

Summer Kick Off

Our family of four kicked off summer with a great stay here. The house is comfortable and in a great location; just a short walk/bike ride to the pool and clubhouse. The owner was responsive to our questions and helped us problem solve a minor hiccup.

We loved this property! It was larger than we assumed by pictures. It being fully furnished with towels, bedding and more was very helpful! The owner was so commutative it was a really great experience!

Great Escape

We loved the location of this house and all the outdoor space. We enjoyed the community pool, basketball courts, and ping pong tables. We also enjoyed the fire pit onsite. Great location with easy access to all things we wanted to do.

Awesome Trip!!

We had another awesome time at the Chunky Monkey. We loved the addition of the second bathroom. It was amazing, especially the new lighted jet bathtub. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and a great place to relax after being on the dunes during the day. Thanks again Dan for another wonderful experience!!! I highly recommend Chunky Monkey!!

Wonderful Stay!!

The Chunky Monkey was the perfect stay! Plenty of room for everyone. The master suite is beautiful and large. We used the fire pit several evenings and the grill for several meals. Having a washer and dryer was a bonus to have. Very well maintained property! Communication with owners was very easy and they were very responsive. This was the best stay we had had Silver Lake! Highly recommend renting a pontoon on the lake! We also used the pool daily and with COVID, we had no issues!

Awesome stay at the Chunky Monkey!!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Chunky Monkey, it was awesome!! The owner Dan is great to work with. The neighborhood and the neighbors were really nice and quiet at night. The cottage has everything you need, plenty of room and a great atmosphere. It is also right in the middle of all of the activities that Silver Lake offers. Overall it was an awesome trip and I would definitely recommend the Chunky Monkey to everyone!!!

Wonderful stay at the Chunky Monkey!

We had a wonderful week at the Chunky Monkey! When we arrived, we were happy to see such a large seating area around a 55 inch wall mounted TV. The kitchen is very large with ample storage, cook and prep space, as well as anything you might need from crock pot to Keurig! There are three bedrooms. All had plenty of room with dressers so you can unpack and feel right at home. I was a little concerned about the one bathroom, but it worked out without any problems. The shower head in the bathroom is great, and the vanity had plenty of storage. The washer and dryer worked very well. It was so nice having the option to wash our clothes especially swimsuits and towels.We have stayed at Flora-Dale in the past. Their swimming pool is very nice and spacious. There is a tennis court and basketball court. Our teen girls had fun with tetherball ball, we also had fun at the beach and did lots of fun days at Mac Woods, Craig's Cruisers, and we rented a Jeep from Parrots Landing. So much fun! What made this home stand out was the distance from the pool. In the past, we have stayed at a house we could see the pool from our door. This time it was a little walk through a path in the trees, or a super short drive with the car. But the good thing about the short distance is the silence! When sitting on the porch, I could hear the birds and watch the squirrels playing in the grass! (Many Flora Dale homes just have sand.) So, we weren't having to seeep the floors constantly like other homes. Also, the road is paved and quiet. The kids could ride their scooters without a lot of trlaffic. We have Amizon Prime and with our stick, we were able to watch anything we have at home thanks to the Chromecast capability at Chunky Monkey. (CM) there was a slight problem with a broken cable on Sunday. I contacted the owner to let him know. His immediate response was happy to hear. He said he was very sorry that happened and contacted the cable company who had it fixed by 10;30 am. The kids loved staying at the Chunky Monkey and so did the adulltsl I asked if they wanted to try a different place next time. they asked why would we want a different house? Hmm, that's a good question, there really isn't a good reason! We lived it and we will be back! The Hughes Family
