Meadowview Solar Haven: A Mountain Retreat in Thomas, WV
Welcome to Meadowview Solar Haven, a warm and inviting escape where modern comfort meets the tranquility of nature. Nestled on 2.1 private acres along a gentle creek, this 3,500 sq. ft. solar-powered home offers a perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, families, and small groups alike. Here, you can unwind in peace, immerse yourself in nature, and still be just minutes from the charming towns of Thomas and Davis, West Virginia.
A Spacious Solar-Powered Home in Nature
Surrounded by woods and meadows, Meadowview Solar Haven is an eco-friendly solar-powered lodge that combines sustainable living with luxury. You’ll have an entire two-story home to yourselves, featuring high ceilings, panoramic windows, and cozy furnishings that create a welcoming lodge ambiance. Step out onto the expansive 85-ft back covered porch – it’s the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine as you take in panoramic mountain views and stunning sunsets. The porch’s ample seating invites everyone to gather and breathe in the fresh mountain air, rain or shine.
Tranquil Outdoor Oasis – Creek, Koi Pond & Pavilion
Nature is literally at your doorstep. Wander the property to find an enchanting pavilion tea house nestled beside Snyder Run creek – an idyllic spot to relax with a book or meditate to the soothing sound of flowing water. In the side yard, a large koi pond fed by its own little creek is home to colorful fish; it adds to the property’s tranquil ambiance (children and adults alike will delight in watching the koi glide through the water). The grounds offer plenty of space for kids to explore and for everyone to enjoy outdoor fun. By night, gather under the stars at the bonfire pit – we provide complimentary firewood, so you can easily light up a crackling campfire to roast s’mores, share stories, and stargaze in the clear mountain skies. This outdoor oasis is your private slice of West Virginia wilderness, perfect for reconnecting with nature without sacrificing comfort.
Comfortable Accommodations for Families & Groups
Inside the lodge, you’ll find three spacious bedrooms that ensure everyone in your group sleeps in comfort. Two master suites upstairs each feature a plush queen bed in one and a pair of twin beds in the other (with optional cots stored in the closets to accommodate a third guest in each room if needed), making them ideal for parents with a young child or friends sharing a room. Each master suite is tastefully decorated and offers its own scenic window views and en-suite feel (so everyone has space to unwind). The third bedroom downstairs includes a comfortable full bed and easy accessibility – great for grandparents or anyone who prefers no stairs. In total, the house sleeps 6–8 guests with ease. Extra cots and linens are available so larger families or groups of friends have flexibility in sleeping arrangements. 2 full bathrooms upstairs (stocked with towels and essentials) and a half bath downstairs, mean no one has to wait long to freshen up. You’ll also have a fully equipped kitchen and a large dining area, so home-cooked family meals or group dinners are a joy to prepare and share.
Hot Tub & Entertainment “Man-Cave”
After a day of hiking or skiing, treat yourself to a soak in the 6-person hot tub located in our unique garage-converted “man-cave”. This fun indoor lounge area is open 24/7 for your enjoyment. Kick back on the comfy couches and catch a movie or the big game on the large-screen TV, or ask Alexa to play your favorite tunes as you relax in the bubbling hot tub. With warm lighting and plenty of seating, this entertainment space is a guest favorite – perfect for unwinding together on a chilly evening or having a family movie night with the bonus of a hot soak.
Close to Adventure, Hiking & Skiing
While you may feel worlds away at this private haven, downtown Thomas is just 2 miles down the road and Davis is only 4 miles away – giving you quick access to local conveniences, eateries, and the area’s vibrant arts scene. Outdoor enthusiasts will be minutes from adventure: the famed Blackwater Falls State Park (with its stunning waterfalls, scenic overlooks, and miles of hiking trails) and Canaan Valley Resort (offering skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and golf) are both an easy drive from the house. Countless hiking trails, fishing spots in pristine rivers, and even rock climbing and cross-country ski areas dot the surrounding landscape. Whether you’re planning to hike through lush forests, ski down snowy slopes, mountain bike, fish for trout in clear mountain streams, or explore the unique art galleries and live music venues in Thomas, Meadowview Solar Haven is the perfect home base. By day, embark on adventures to places like Dolly Sods Wilderness or explore the charming antique shops and cafes in town; by night, return to the comfort of your private retreat to relax under the stars.

Preguntas frecuentes
Acerca de su propietario/a
Propietario/a: Vincent Lombardi
Hi there! I’m Vince — welcome to my solar-powered haven in Thomas. Born and raised in Alexandria, VA, I’ve spent the past 15 years falling in love with life in wild and wonderful West Virginia. I traded aerospace engineering for campfires, trails, and the joy of hosting — now I own a campground on the Dryfork River in Parsons and this short-term rental where the stars, not the city, set the mood.
I love precision — in design, in comfort, in how things are built — but I also believe in the magic of the outdoors. Hiking, camping, exploring, and finding the hidden wonder in rural West Virginia are what feed my passions. Here, you’ll find a place that’s clean, peaceful, thoughtfully appointed, and charged by the sun. If you want trail maps, secret swimming spots, or just a quiet moment on the porch at dusk, I’m nearby. Can’t wait to host you!
If you choose to stay here with a large koi pond, creeks, and extraordinary sunset views of meadows from the covered back porch, you’ll be perfectly placed to explore Thomas, Davis, and Canaan Valley — some of my favorite playgrounds:
Blackwater Falls State Park: a must-see. Gorgeous waterfall drops, scenic overlooks like Lindy Point, and trails that are spectacular in every season.
Canaan Valley State Park & the Wildlife Refuge: lots of hiking, biking, wildlife watching, even boating or fishing depending on the season.
Winter adventures at White Grass (cross-country skiing, snowshoeing) & downhill / night skiing at resorts like Timberline.
Town of Davis WV
Davis & Thomas towns: art galleries, local shops, craft breweries, live music, cozy restaurants — great for winding down after a day of exploring.
For the adventurous: blackwater canyon trails, scenic overlooks, and the Dolly Sods Wilderness are incredible for photographers and those who want landscapes that feel raw and expansive.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento
Love the expansive and private yard, the large koi pond, 2 creeks on the property, and extraordinary meadow views from the covered back porch. Great privacy but still close to town.
Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
Koi pond, creeks, privacy, expansive yard and meadow views, 85 foot long covered back porch. 4 TV rooms, a great man-cave garage with hot tub and the peace and tranquility of being 2 miles outside of Thomas in Snyder Run creek valley in the Benbush part of Thomas.
