Lake of the Woods | Family Retreat Near Lake Erie Located on Lake Road — part of New York’s scenic Seaway Trail (Route 5) — a nationally recognized lakeside byway known for peaceful views, wineries, and classic Americana. Perfect for road-trippers, families, lighthouse hunters, and anyone looking to explore the charm of Lake Erie’s shoreline towns. The home sits just 600 feet from Lake Erie, with seasonal water views and lake access less than a mile away — including a public kayak launch, boat slip, and the new Hideaway Bay resort with restaurant and beach. Only 6 minutes from I-90 (Exit 58 – Silver Creek), the property is easy to reach yet tucked along the lake. Whether heading north to Niagara Falls or south to Ellicottville, two world-class destinations are just an hour away in either direction. The Home - This spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath getaway comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and offers a thoughtful balance of comfort, style, and function — all on a single main floor with no interior stairs. Both full bathrooms have been recently updated. The main bath features a tub/shower combo, while the second offers a walk-in shower. All three bedrooms include closets. Two rooms feature queen beds — one with a smart TV — and the third, dubbed The Adventure Room, is designed with kids in mind and includes two twin beds, maps, toys, and playful decor. A sleeper sofa in the living room adds flexibility for larger groups. The main living space includes a 65” 4K TV, recessed lighting, custom cabinetry, Labradorite granite countertops, dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven, Keurig, teapot, and a fully stocked kitchen. A Nest thermostat, 14,000 BTU AC unit, and fans in each bedroom keep things comfortable year-round. Push-up blinds and crown moulding add a polished touch. Outside, there is a big covered back deck is ideal for grilling and gathering. A large stone firepit awaits you out back. Guests have access to the attached garage with laundry. While this is a full-home private rental, the garage also serves as our central housekeeping area and may be the only space we occasionally need to access during your stay. Check-in is simple with a self-entry touchscreen lockbox — no need to coordinate arrival times. You’ll have full privacy during your stay, but we’re just next door if you need anything. There’s plenty of driveway parking, and the area is peaceful and safe. Wi-Fi speeds range from 40–70 Mbps in the home, with strong coverage throughout. We’re a family- and dog-friendly property with a large yard to explore. Dogs are welcome (pet fee may apply), and please note: we have a very sweet dog of our own who may make a brief appearance in the yard before being called back — just in case you or your little ones prefer distance. Gather around the firepit under wide-open skies, where sunsets glow and the land hums with life. Just behind the house, a historic railway — once part of the New York Central line connecting Chicago and New York — adds a quiet thread of history to the landscape. While you may hear the occasional train, most guests find it to be a subtle part of the property’s character. Wildlife sightings are common: bald eagles, owls, curious rabbits, and — if you’re lucky — one of our rare albino deer. It’s the kind of place where you still see stars — and fireflies.
