Five-Star Stay – Highly Recommend!We had an excellent New Year stay in San Francisco. The place was immaculate, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The host was extremely professional, accommodating, and helpful, with outstanding communication throughout our stay. Everything exceeded expectations, and I would definitely stay here again. We booked this property for the weekend during the Fleet Week. This house is very specious, clean and located in a quiet neighborhood. Host Alex was very responsive. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be back soon.

The house is nice and well appointed and we would have rated it higher had the owner not knocked on the door on Christmas evening to complain about the number of people visiting - six - one more than the five non-staying guests we anticipated and disclosed per their pre-check-in instructions. We were playing board games with our daughter, grandson, and her husband, and another couple and their 7 y.o. daughter, when they dropped by. The visit was cringy and embarrassing, but ultimately we feel sorry for the owners who spent their Christmas surveilling us and their rental property. VRBO says ‘your vacation property should feel like a vacation’ - not like probation.

Thank you for your feedback and for noting that you found the home well appointed. I’d like to clarify one point for future guests reading this review. Our home is equipped and permitted for a maximum of four guests. Prior to check-in, we approved a very limited, short visit by a specific number of non-staying guests as a courtesy. Unfortunately, that agreement was exceeded, and the resulting noise made it clear the situation had changed. We strive to be flexible and reasonable, especially during the holidays, and we addressed the matter politely and in person to keep things from escalating. Our goal is always to protect the experience of our guests, our neighbors, and the property itself. We appreciate guests who communicate clearly and respect agreed-upon house guidelines, which helps ensure everyone enjoys a comfortable and relaxed stay.

The home was perfect. Alex was a rude and intrusive host who made my family uncomfortable. We booked the stay for my mother's small, family-only 70th birthday celebration, as a quiet place to spend time together. My partner and I live in Oakland, so my mother, sister, nephew, and nephew's partner stayed in the Vrbo. We met him in person and made every effort to be respectful to his home. One day, he came to the door and accused my mother and nephew of having too many people inside. He said, "We have to follow the rules here. Is that going to be OK?" in an accusatory and unprofessional manner. It was very strange and it upset my family. I would not recommend to book with him, especially if a group of women.

I want to provide clarity regarding this review. I take great pride in maintaining the home to a high standard and respond quickly when issues arise. In this instance, I was informed by the guest that a toilet was clogged, so I arrived the next morning with my plumber to resolve it promptly. While addressing the maintenance request, I observed that more people were present than were listed on the reservation. Our house rules clearly state that only registered guests are permitted on the property. These policies are in place for safety, insurance coverage, and compliance with local regulations, and they apply consistently to every reservation. I politely asked that the house rules be followed and encouraged the group to enjoy the rest of their stay.
