The setting of this property couldn’t be more perfect. The view of the river was absolutely beautiful, and a family of deer frequently wandered through the backyard to graze and cross the property., It felt truly idyllic, no matter the weather.From the moment we walked in, it was clear the studio has been well-loved- and for good reason. The wood inside is so charming. The sheets and bathroom were clean, but there were a few things we weren’t expecting. It may have been seasonal, but there were a lot of flies, stink bugs, and spiders inside the space. We also noticed cobwebs throughout the space, stains on the walls and curtains, and very dirty windows.. The owner explained that the regular cleaner had an emergency, which may have been why the apt was not up to the standard we were expecting.We were able to reach the owner at the beginning of our stay for check in instructions, but after the first 24hrs, we weren't able to get back in touch. After we left he mentioned he was having a problem with the app’s messaging notifications.Overall it seems our stay may have happened during a challenging time for those managing the property, which is understandable. Despite the experience we had, the proximity to the river and the views from this studio were just lovely.

Great getaway for a quiet weekend!

The property was perfect for a quiet getaway. The area was peaceful and beautiful. The studio was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Frederick is only a short drive and we had fantastic dinners and shopping there. We will be back.

Hideaway

This property was a perfect little hideaway. I enjoyed being able to sit on the deck in the morning with my coffee and watch the geese in the creek. It was quiet and peaceful. And it was close enough to shops and restaurants when we felt the need to go out. Especially only being about 15 minutes from downtown Frederick. We would definitely stay there again!

Amazing place and Host!

This adorable unit right on the Monocacy River was just what my heart and soul needed!! The host Joe was absolutely the best and made sure I even had a place when I needed to stay longer since this cutie was already rented! You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a secluded place but also a minutes drive to dining and shopping! Downtown is super close without the hustle of city living. Oh and check out his other places available close by! They are amazing as well! Thanks Joe for being so accommodating! Will be back whenever I am in the area!!

Disappointing.

Beautiful view and deck. Interior was cramped, coffee maker, internet, and tv did not work, could not sleep due to noise from other units, pot smoke in the hallways, host was aggressive regarding a minor issue with my dog.

Our second stay at the property and it was just as expected. Joe was great to get us checked in and assist with questions. Will be back on our next visit it the area.

Fall weekend get-away

wonderful experience - location was perfect (river was beautiful and very close to downtown Fredrick), clean, well stocked with plates, mugs, hot plate, grill master, toaster, pots and pans, and Joe was accessible and easy to communicate with!

Weekend Getaway at the River House

This unit has a fantastic view. It is a little hard to find, but because of that it ends up being in a convenient location, close to shops and restaurants, while seeming to be in a remote, rural location. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the river. The owner was very responsive when we had to contact him about a barking dog in a neighboring unit. Having said that, there were some issues. The unit was not clean—there were obvious crumbs on the bar area and the floor and obvious food residue on almost everything in the kitchen. The house was not well stocked. Drinking glasses consisted of three 8oz water glasses; there was a mismatch of a few plates and bowls, half of which were dirty or stained; some coffee mugs; and not much other dinnerware. There was one previously-used, stained, dishwashing sponge—no dish rags or dish towels. There is Wi-Fi, but the morning we were to arrive we received the check-in information from the owner saying the internet could not handle any kind of streaming. We were told we could set the air conditioning at whatever we would like. What we were not told was that the air conditioning resets to preprogrammed temperatures at 6:30 a.m. (74 degrees) and 11:30 p.m. (82 degrees). Most of the blinds on the windows had broken slats and some did not work. The bathroom has an unfinished pine floor which would be impossible to clean properly and is stained in the high traffic areas. There were cobwebs in several areas and leftover trash around the bathroom waste can. We were provided with two bath towels, but no washrags. There is a unit above you and another unit beside you on the first floor and the noise easily carries from one unit to another to the extent that you feel like the people in the other units are just in the next room. There is no feeling of privacy and you can easily hear the noise of people talking and laughing, and the thumps and bumps of them moving around. This place needs some loving care, and a good cleaning, and it could be a very nice place to stay. The owner was very nice, he just doesn’t seem to be on top of things. I would encourage you to consider a stay here, but check with the owner first to see if these issues have been addressed.

Relaxing weekend getaway

The studio apt is very nice and comfortable, very cute. We enjoyed the front porch with the river view. You can spot the rare birds in the morning. Short drive to Frederick downtown. We will definitely stay again.

perfect little getaway

A little confusing finding the location, but once found, it was conveniently close to road and shopping, yet secluded away on river. we made use of the grill and enjoyed hanging out on the deck overlooking the river. a wonderful setup for the price and just what we needed for a little weekend getaway. thank you!

Lovely cabin, clean and updated, tucked away in a nice area, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theater, everything close! Relaxing, comfortable stay! Will try to repeat this experience in 3 months. Property owner responds in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you Joe!
