I really enjoyed my visit, the property is beautiful, immaculately clean and very well thought out. The very large fenced yard is lovely and very secure if traveling with pets. The property is very close to Sleeping Bear Dunes so we were able to conveniently hike nearby trails and visit the lake. I would definitely return for a longer stay!

We loved our stay here! It was peaceful but close enough to everything we wanted to see. Our pups absolutely LOVED having the fenced yard to run around and enjoy the sun. Host was attentive and responsive. Overall great stay!

Northern Nook is a beautiful and clean place for a vacation. There are many beautiful places outside to sit, eat and enjoy. The wildlife likes to visit in the evening(deer). The inside has everything we needed for our stay. Every room in this home is spacious and done to a high standard. Being a Pet-Friendly home was so nice for us. And the place is so clean you wouldn't know it was Pet-Friendly. Matt and Lynsey get right back with you with any questions you might have.We highly recommend staying at the Northern Nook!

We found the interior even more comfortable and appealing than expected and the steady WI-FI made our work-related stay a joy. Our host was thorough, communicative and went out of his way to help us adjust our check-out day. 10/10 would do again!

The property is certainly well appointed with lots of bells and whistles, and a kitchen island with it's own zip code! Beautiful, too. The back yard is fenced in and very large. Our little 9# Cavachon, Lucy, really enjoyed exploring the grounds at full speed, while chasing the birds and the deer, although both came back the next day. The home is located about 8 minutes from Glen Arbor with more than a few restaurants to choose from. Close to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, where we recommend Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, Stops 9 & 10, to get out and walk on the dunes.

Wonderful! The property is just as nice in person as the pictures. If you are traveling with a dog you couldn't get a better yard. And it's all fenced in! We have a 90 lb. pointer/pit/lab mix and it was so nice not having to keep her on a leash or tether. The home was beautiful and very comfortable. Having 2 bathrooms was a plus. The table was great for games/puzzles/family meals. The only downfall is that we usually stay in Empire. My brother lives in Empire so we were farther from Empire beach and the ice cream shops, but the home was so comfortable it made up for it. We have been coming up to the area for 25 years now, and the home did not have a welcome book. Usually, there is a binder that explains everything about the home/when the garbage will be picked up, to recycle or not, information on local attractions and places to eat.But all in all we will be back! Lots of nature such as deer, turkeys, birds and whatever else crossed our paths. Big shout out to Matt and Lindsey for sharing their beautiful home. Great vacation!

Our house manual is online, but I understand that the link can be buried in the flood of emails you get prior to check-in. We will look to add information in the property to make it clearer to find the house manual. Glad you enjoyed your stay!

The Sleeping Bear Dunes area has been a favorite vacation spot for 20 years. There’s a difference between a host that offers you their home and one that has an extra house to gain income. Likewise, a host that tolerates pets and one that welcomes your fur family. This is a beautiful home that makes all feel welcome. The backyard is a dream. Much of our home time was spent in the backyard. The house is very user friendly. The bedrooms offer plenty of storage for guests, comfortable beds and very little outside noise. The kitchen is spacious with ample seating. The appliances are good quality. The hosts made themselves available should anything be needed but they had provided the necessaries. Our week was excellent.

We loved the location of the house! The size was perfect for our family of 6. The backyard was great. The house didn’t feel like it had been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. We were constantly sweeping up dog hair, and a lot of it, even though we didn’t bring a dog. My kids often had dog hair on their things. Otherwise our stay was great! We would stay here again.
