This seaside cottage offers expansive marsh views and peeks of the ocean and is just a short walk to the beach! Kick up your feet and relax on the screened porch or rooftop deck. During high tide, enjoy beautiful creek and lighthouse views.

Located just across the street from the beach, you are also a short walk to the sand and to the marsh. Downtown Center Street is three miles away, so hop on your bike to enjoy dining, shopping, and nightlife. Check out one of the local shops for surfing lessons and paddleboard rentals! Venture out to downtown historic Charleston, just 14 miles away.

Sunset Song was perfect for our grandmother - mother - daughter trip. The house was very clean, very comfortable, very roomy. Excellent location, beautiful view of the marsh, convenient access to the beach. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect Folly Getaway

Great place to stay. Beautiful view of the marsh from the roof sunsets are awesome. Quiet and peacefully and beach access across the street was great. Will miss walking out to Morris Lighthouse daily so beautiful and peaceful out there. The property and the house was very comfortable and had everything you could need. The shower outside was great to use so refreshing!!! So glad i stayed there made it a great week at Folly.

We enjoyed our stay at Sunset Song! Very clean, great location and beautiful sunsets were viewed from the rooftop deck! We would recommend this house to friends and family and would definitely rent this beach house again. Since two of our children live in Charleston it was great that they could visit and there was plenty of room for them to park!

The house is right across the street from the beach. The kitchen itself seemed a little dated, other than that it had everything we needed.

Great place, wish the dock was open

We loved everything about this little beach house, except for the fact the dock was not open and we were planning on fishing from it. Wish they had told us that are advance. It was nice they took care of bed linens so we didn’t have to strip the beds at the end. The house had everything we needed otherwise and it was a wonderful weekend.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The original house we reserved, which we had stayed at before, had a pest infestation so they put us at this house. While adequate, it was not as nice as the house we reserved where we had stayed before but Avocet did as well as they could. Good location though.

The screened porch is about 3 times larger than the picture looks and there is a huge roof top deck overlooking the marsh that is not even shown in any of the pictures. Kitchen is small but who wants to cook on vacation! You have to walk through 2 bedrooms to get to the back living area but it wasn't an issue for us. Great location.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I rented this house over Labor Day weekend for a girls weekend! The house comfortably fit all 6 of us. The screened porch and rooftop deck are wonderful for relaxing and enjoying a beer or glass of wine! The rooftop deck also has amazing views! The house is conveniently located across the street from beach access. The only issues we had with the house was a broken lamp in the living room as well as the ceiling fan (in the living room) that is extremely wobbly and could not be used. There are also several broken blinds throughout the house that the owner should fix. But these were just minor issues! The staff from Avocet was very accommodating and helpful! We are already planning a return trip for next year!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check in envelope had incorrect property address. Upon arrival, master bed was stripped and there were no sheets. Also, used coke can was left on the counter and dishwasher was full. Clothes washer was broken and maintenance never showed up to attempt a repair.

Folly Beach Vacation 2022

The property was as advertised - clean and comfortable, and steps from the beach which was what we were looking for! The roof deck was our favorite spot for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening; the perfect spot to view the amazing sunsets over the marsh. BRING BUG SPRAY - the gnats/mosquitos were very bad, especially in the evening (or morning!) Bring beach towels as there are only towels /washcloths for bathing; bring beach chairs (if you can) as none are provided. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, plates, glasses, etc. I can't say whether the TVs worked as we never turned them on - we were having too much fun! Overall a very comfortable vacation home in the quieter section of the island - which is what we wanted. The beach was absolutely beautiful - no crowds on this end of Folly. A short 1 mile walk to the Morris Island Lighthouse area - or there is limited parking at the end of the road. There are very good restaurants and bars around the Center St. area which is less than 3 miles away - definitely take an Uber if you're "enjoying" the fun bars. I would recommend this house for a relaxing, low-key visit to beautiful Folly Beach - and would love to go back again one day!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was a little disappointed in our overall experience. I called to check on the status of our home a few days before and was informed that everything was great. When we arrived at check-in we were given keys and sent on our way. When we arrived at the house there were workers fixing the whole screen porch and installing new electrical and washer/dryer in downstairs. I wish someone would of told us to be expecting these people to be at the house. Also they left and we had to place all the furniture back on the porch ourselves. When we went to use the washer/dryer the day before our departure we discovered that they were not installed properly and did not work. We placed a call before the office closed and were told to expect a return call. We never got a return call so I called the after hours people and they said they would leave a message but there was really nothing they could do. I am very disappointed. This was a promised amenity and it should of been working. I also think if a person calls to check on the house as stated to do on your website and emails you should inform them of the true shape of the house. It would of been very nice to know what we were walking into.
