Welcome to Sugar Sands, a charming and intimate vacation treasure on the shores of beloved Madeira Beach. Sugar Sands offers a peaceful beachside experience with only three condos sharing a private pool and secluded beach. This lovely tropical oasis is just steps from the beautiful beach and laden with exotic and fragrant greenery, tropical huts, a BBQ grill, and an outdoor shower. Sugar Sands B is on the ground floor and offers the easiest of beach vacations!

A unique blend of Florida fishing village, residential community and tourist destination contribute to an original vibe that is Madeira Beach. Mad Beach, as it's affectionately referred to, is that curious mixture of history, progress, and stability which, when paired with the perfect weather of Florida's Gulf Coast, makes for a delightful community. Measuring only two miles long, this small seaside gem draws beach lovers to its pristine white sandy beaches. Madeira Beach is home to John's Pass Village and with six public parks, boat-accessible restaurants, charter boats, and dolphin watch cruises, it has something for everyone. Dog-friendly beaches include Bicentennial Park, Fort Desoto Park, and Boca Ciega Millennium Park.

Find all the comforts of home with a nicely appointed kitchen with breakfast bar and handy sofa bed. This first-floor gem offers a living area and main bedroom open to the pool and deck area for easy access. The main bedroom has plenty of storage to unpack and unwind, and both bedrooms have a TV. Beach towels, beach chairs, two kayaks, and two paddleboards are available.

I have minor complaints like the couch is kinda rough, worn out and uncomfortable. The lights need fixed in the pool, only one works. Also the neighboring buildings have construction going on and they literally start work with power tools at 8am and work a long day until 7pm minimum. Despite all that this is like a dream property. I would like to buy it! Contact me with a price if you want to sell. We absolutely loved the location, the room, the pool, and the access to the Gulf. We will be booking again next year, and referring family. It is a great place. My little complaints are not enough to get me off 5 stars. Loved it. A great time.

We loved that this property had only a few separate units. Almost felt like we had our own pool and beach! Also, very convenient access to both and no stairs!

Hidden Gem

This condo was the perfect quaint combination of a beach and pool vacation. Only 3 units made for a very private feeling pool and beach. Beach is well shaded in the mornings by surrounding larger condo complexes, which was great for kids. Outdoor shower not listed with unit description but increases functionality of the rental with larger group. We had a blast!

Avoid Vacasa and this property

The property was as described until the sewer line from the complex backed up onto our floor while we were at dinner. Dealing with the "24/7 support" of Vacasa is a joke if is weren't so aggravating with long time on holds, calls not returned, wrong phone number for support in the unit, etc. etc. The plumber showed up at 10:45 pm (more than 2 hr and 20 min later) to remove the toilet to clear the line for the whole complex with the information that the floor would not be cleaned from the sewage water until the next day. We had to move to a hotel for the night. And the shower was still clogged the next morning. The cleaners showed up late morning to clean the floors. Vacasa has been unresponsive to our requests for reimbursement for the hotel, Uber, not to mention all the hours on hold and trying in vain to get someone to respond to the situation. Avoid this property and anything managed by Vacasa based on their continued lack of support and follow through.

Terrible company

Would not refund or money when there was a mandatory evacuation for a hurricane. Could not even stay at the property.

We loved staying at this location! We have three children 6 and under and loved how everything was on the same level! We loved how close the pool and beach were for us! Everything was great.

Loved the small setting. Didn't have to fight for parking or deal with lots of other tenants. Quiet. Unit while a bit older was clean. It could use a few updates but nothing that hindered the quality of our stay.

Great location but needs work

The location was great; 25 yards to the beach and walking distance to groceries, mini golf, bars and restaurants. This is very dated and in need of updating even if it’s just paint. The floor was filthy and constantly sandy. Area rugs and better mats outside the doors would help with that. The tv constantly buffered because the WiFi is inadequate. Bring your mobile hotspot. The pool deck needs replaced although that process was started months ago it’s still not been done and there’s currently plywood panels surrounding the work area that blocks your view of the beach. The area is quiet and the beach is beautiful.

Madiera Beach Stay

Property and location were excellent. House didn't have Steak knives, toilet paper and paper towels were cheapest available. Thankfully we brought our own since I've had this issue at other vrbo rentals. I feel people getting double rent cost in fees should provide same quality paper goods as they use in their homes!!! Would have been nice to know the pool decking was being worked on and there was wood blocking part of the pool. On 2nd day there, there were 6/7 kids and few adults showed up at pool and no cars in parking area. I called vrbo to see if they could send someone to remove them and after several minutes I was told a party of 15had the upstairs unit, if we had known we would have picked another location. Sounded like they were moving the pool table around and dropping balls all the time. Once again would have been nice to have known but I know it's not required from owners. Rented house inN.C. and owner emailed me 2days b4 trip and let me know he had some issues with his house and gave us opportunity to cancel and book another place. That was a great owner who showed they cared about their guest and not just making money. Too bad more on vrbo don't have that mentality. Oh well we made the best of it. Madeira Beach is a great place to visit and we will go back again. Reef and Frabottas were great places to eat and can walk to them from condo.

Dissatisfied

We were notified 2 days before we arrived of construction work on site ! Then the condition of the property was substandard When we complained to Vacasa they were slow to respond and then 24 hours later they finally approved a relocation that included two options that were no where near comparable! Overall we are completely dissatisfied and will never again trust this property or Vacasa !

Will stay again

This place has a seemless check in/out process, access to everything you would need for the beach, and perfect location relative to beach and other attractions. They should really sell the outdoor shower because that was unique and maybe the only way we got my 5 year old to bathe. It also made it a great trip because the families that were staying in the other two rentals were cool too. This is an adorable place tucked in between two large places, and it was what we needed.

Location, location, location!!

The property is in a great spot, right on the beach! The pictures depict the property better than it really is in person. The pool is NOT heated and needed to be included in the description! The property was fairly clean, but the floors were filthy, noted by the bottoms of our feet after walking on them barefoot. The pillow case in the bedroom had hairs on it; it looked like dog hair. That was gross. Also, it is an older building needing some upkeep. Walls need to be painted/repaired and other things. Just needs freshening up for the price they are charging. The pool deck also needs painting. It is peeling badly. The first day the pool was filthy and needed cleaning, so I called and they came to clean it. All in all, a good stay. The last night a family came and rented the upstairs penthouse and you could hear everything, from talking, and chairs being pushed to a marble dropping and rolling. We probably won’t stay at this condo again. There are better choices at Bellair Beach that have the same beach access, etc.

Had great experiences and made cherished memories with tween grandchild. Owners really thought of everything to make the trip easy and delightful.
