Sound Decision 175HC:Waterfront Home, Private Hot Tub, Shared Pool

New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Ocean lovers and ice cream connoisseurs can walk to the ocean and Dairy Queen. Stargazers and sun lovers can lounge on the nearly 40-foot high sundeck with 360-degree views. This house is located on a large canal-front lot and is only two houses from the sound front. The ground level has an outside shower, large drive and grassy yard. The first floor has four bedrooms, two full baths, a laundry area, and outside decking. The second story has a large living area, comfortable furnishings, and great views from a large deck. The well-equipped kitchen can serve hungry guests at the breakfast bar, dining area, or on the upper deck. A nice main bedroom and full bath round out the second floor. The outside sundecks provide perfect southern exposure with the second-floor deck supporting a bubbly hot tub on the screened porch. The third-floor sun tower has massive 360-degree views, including the sound and beautiful sunsets over the water. Make your own Sound Decision and stay a while in Sound Decision.

Things to know:
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

Everything we needed & we'd do it again!

This rental wasn't as high end as what we usually rent but it had everything we needed and didn't cost as much per week as the higher end rentals. The absolute best thing is the location - we were close to everything AND the fishing was excellent from the dock! This is a clean and comfortable home and I wouldn't hesitate to rent it again.

Great house in a beautiful setting

Coffee every morning and cocktails every evening on the beautiful roof top deck. We also loved kayaking into the Sound right from our own dock. Clean, comfortable house with everything you need. Loved the hot tub on the screened in porch especially on a rainy day! Quiet neighborhood and a short walk to the ocean side beach, shops and restaurants . Can’t wait to return.

Liked the fact the house had kayaks, and is right on the canal. Also walking distance to Dairy Queen. House needs some repairs and a freaking can opener in the kitchen.

Excellent property in terrific location!

This property is stunningly located just a few houses back from the sound. We were able to crab every day off the sizable deck that even has a bench. We rented kayaks and launched them right into the canal off the ramp adjacent to the dock. The topmost deck was great for seeing the sunrise and sunsets. House was well equipped although I found the bed to be a bit too firm for me. This has been a Sound Decision for us!

Sound Decision

The property was basically as described. Our objective is to always stay sound side with direct access to the water for kayaking, fishing, & sunset views. The property did not disappoint in any of these areas. Of concern were the shared driveway that made parking an issue, even with the 5 car limit, & some maintenance concerns that arose late week & were reported with checkout. We have been vacationing in Avon for 35 years. Overall, it was another wonderful week.

Horrible Management-Not run as a real VRBO

Nice house in an excellent location. Great outdoor space (Decks, private dock with a bench and a really good outside shower) and the inside was set up well for sleeping and hanging out. Kitchen was also good. Check in was a nightmare because of Hatteras Realty. We were let in at 7:00 at night and they were extremely rude to my wife on the phone. When I went to Hatteras's location there were at least 30 other renters checking on the promised 5:00 check in! They closed the hurricane front door so clients would stop ringing the entrance bell. I went around back and talked to a laundry lady who knocked on a back door and when a supervisor opened it to see what she wanted I got to to complain to her and begged her to have our place cleaned next. She did send 4 cleaning men but this was at 6:15. Then they changed our checkout time from 10 am to 9 am. Not nearly up to VRBO standards.

Sound Decision - July 2021

The house is definitely older than we're used to renting. They definitely need to upgrade the downstairs bathroom - shower is very small for large people (we had 2 over 6-foot adults). The mattresses need to be replaced - they are swayed on the queen beds. There is also some kind of water leak under the house - which we let Vacasa/Hatteras Realty know about - they were aware of it but as far as we know, no one ever came out to fix it. We also had an electrical arch on one of the outlets that knocked out power to most of the dining room and living room when we check in - we flagged down a repairman on Sunday morning who fixed the problem. Also, dishwasher soap door does not close - you just have to throw the pod into the dishwasher (which we only used two times). Also, we were not told there were kayaks to utilize and rented some - that was an unnecessary expense.
