We (3 couples) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Poletti. It is well located in the middle of Lake Como activity and has plenty of room for 6-8 people. The roads are a bit challenging, but we got used to them. I highly recommend this property

Once we found the villa the check in was easy. House was clean and pretty much as advertised. The location is pretty far out of town. You can walk to town but put your life at risk on the road. Getting in and out of the driveway took 3 people. The blind corner was scary.

We had an amazing stay at Villa Poletti! It is beautiful and the views over the lake were extraordinary. We celebrated our 39th Anniversary there with friends and family by having a chef from Salice Blu come and prepare an amazing tasting menu for us. It was definitely our best gastronomical experience during our two weeks in Italy. Also, the property was immaculate and extremely well stocked. All in all it was a superb stay!!

Magnificent views

The owner and property manager were wonderful to work with. They answered all questions and provided a ton of information about the area. Bellagio is very hilly, and the roads are very narrow so be aware of that if you are planning to stay. Otherwise, you could not find a more beautiful place to stay. Very comfortable and everyone loved the views. Just stunning. San Giovanni the village on the outskirts of Bellagio was just charming and Nene and Mella restaurants were favorites.

Look no further! Must Stay!!

The villa is beautiful and comfortable. Emi the property manager is outstanding!! She goes above and beyond. We had a 9 passenger van we rented from Milan. It was a must. We did walk into Bellagio and it was fine, but we used the van a lot to drive to other villages during our stay. The private chef Danilo they recommended was the BEST decision. We were there one week, he brought lasagne the night we arrived it was delicious. We had him come two other nights, he and his daughter cooked, served, and cleaned everything up. They were delightful. Highly recommend this villa. We had 4 couples, each room had a king size bed and there were 4 bathrooms each with showers.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Emi was very responsive and exceptional. The Villa is a 30 minute to downtown Bellagio, but it’s a nice (sometimes harrowing) walk through the surrounding area. Strongly recommend it!!

Beautiful Historic Villa with Incredible Views

Wonderful stay. Emi, property manager, was so easy to work with and very helpful. The views are spectacular. Its a 25 min walk into Bellagio, but there are sidewalks the entire way after the first 200-300 meters out of the villa. You can also take the ferries from San Giovini which is 5 mins down the hill from the house. Perfect with a rental car or great for a group who doesn't mind a short walk up and down the hill. A+

Glorious Como getaway!

Everything was wonderful. A beautifully appointed villa with stunning views. Very clean, comfortable accommodations in every way for 4 couples. Stephania was extremely friendly, warm and helpful. Recommend this property very highly.

Family vacation

We were in Lake Como for a wedding and wanted to stay close to Bellagio. The property was perfect with incredible views of the lake. The owner, Karin was very helpful. She provided us with information needed for our stay and explained everything in English. We had a great time staying at this property and would recommend to any group.

Rental Heaven!

I foolishly worried about this rental because I thought it might be too good to be true! I can honestly say that the pictures online don’t even do justice to the view. The house was wonderful and the owner, house manager, and housekeeper were amazing! The only down side is that you may not want to leave the house to explore the town!

Bellagio Birthday Escape

Everything was stunning, down to the fresh flowers throughout the house, beautiful authentic but updated villa, and gorgeous views of Lake Como! Stefania and Rudi were kind and impeccably responsive with our questions and suggestions (for example, getting back from dinner late at night on the ferries). The layout is perfect for 4 couples or two families. We hired a chef Danilo for dinner in one evening, explored nearby villages via ferry and car, and had the trip of a lifetime. It is especially convenient that there is room for 3-4 cars to park on site as it is on the busy main road around Como. The little village (San Giovanni) within walking distance is REALLY little in terms of food so make reservations for dinner (Di Lioppi) if you want a proper meal the night you arrive. Getting into Bellagio was no problem with a car (parking is tight) but we also walked a couple of times. Watch the busy, narrow roads especially at night! The property and location were absolutely wonderful and made for a memorable Italian lakes holiday.

wonderful memories

the home was perfect for us, we had 2 young children and they were very comfortable and safe. Karin gave us referrals on babysitters and she was great with them. the rooms were roomy, location was close to Bellagio town. We had a superb time. Thank you!

Renewed our vows

We had planned renewing our vows after 20 years of marriage while we were in Italy. After arriving and seeing the beauty of the property, we altered our plans and renewed them on the back terrace overlooking the lake. Karin was super responsive and Rudi more than went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed!!

Family Trip to Bellagio and Lake Como.

Views of Lake Como are even more impressive than the online photos! Loved the Villa itself and everyone involved in making our stay very special... Karin, the property manager; Stephania, the house manager, and Rudi, the daily housekeeper. Easy access to Bellagio via car for sightseeing there and ferrying to many other destinations along the Lake. Nene's is a short but stout walk for coffee and wine bar also serving food. We planned lunches and an occasional dinner out. We thoroughly enjoyed many dinners overlooking the Lake at the Villa with easy access to two local supermarkets via car. Our trip was for a family of seven with age ranges from 27 to 84. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Amazing Historic Villa

We had an amazing stay at this villa. The views of Lake Como are beyond belief and some of the best we saw from anywhere in the greater Bellagio area. The house was immaculately clean and the linens and towels were very nice. San Giovanni is a cute little village on the outskirts of Bellagio. Getting into Bellagio is not for the faint of heart - you have to walk on the main, windy road for a bit but after a few times doing it we felt much more comfortable. There are a lot of stairs to get into San Giovanni so if you are planning to walk to places vs drive, you definitely have to be in reasonably good physical shape. There is a ferry service right from San Giovanni to Bellagio and other places on the lake but the schedule is relatively limited. Lake Como is a truly magical and beautiful spot on this planet. We hope to go back one day. And a big thank you and shout out to Rudy who came daily to freshen up the house and provide clean linens - she is awesome and the service is a really nice touch (our previous villa in Tuscany didn’t offer this). Overall we loved this home, the views and the location. It was nice being outside the crowds of downtown Bellagio. Oh and be sure to do a private boat ride on the lake. That was one of the best things we did! We used Bellagio Water Limousines - they were really nice and awesome. And the in-home chef was really great too. So nice to be home with the views but not have to cook. Our meal was excellent. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Villa Poletti

We were six adults staying at the villa and there was more than ample space for all of us to gather together for conversation and meals and adequate bedrooms and baths for us to have our own privacy. The villa is nicely appointed and both the agent and owner were very helpful in getting us settled in and acquainted with the property. They also offered suggestions for meals and entertainments nearby (in addition to the comprehensive list in the house manual) that we availed ourselves of during our stay. Overall, we had a great time and would certainly recommend it to any group of 6-8 people. The only downside to the property is that is sits quite a distance outside of the village of Bellagio. It is a good twenty to thirty minute walk with multiple staircases or inclines and there are no sidewalks so remaining vigilant of the automobile traffic with whom you share the roads is imperative. Ubers are nearly non-existent and taxi service is difficult to arrange unless you can connect with a driver early on and get his private number to schedule trips well in advance. We were able to do so and used his services often. The property is lovely, historical and quite impressive. All the plumbing is modern and hot water was plentiful. More comfortable outdoor dining seating would be a positive addition but all our expectations for our stay were not only met but exceeded.

Window to Bellagio's Beauty

There is so much architectural and natural beauty to absorb in the Lake Como area and Villa Poletti is A wonderful place to stay to take in an amazing view of the lake and mountains beyond. The morning after our departure and we are yearning to return. Of which, we will! Our morning walks to NeNe for caffe and pastries with our friends and families were an energetic start to our day. With only a 3 day stay, we maximized our daytime visits to Bellagio, Mennagio, Varenna, various gardens and shopping. We did not have a car so we utilized taxi, the Bellagio (tourist) train that dropped us off in San Giovanni, the local C30 bus (that picked us up and dropped us in front of the Villa)water taxi ferry and our legs! The fresh May weather (a little rain)made all of these experiences enjoyable. We invited a chef into the Villa to prepare and serve a meal to our group of 7 one evening . The best decision ever! Chef Danilo and his sweet daughter were the highlight of one evening. Karin is the most gracious host and her assistant and house cleaner were so attentive. The villa beds were very comfortable and the rooms were quite spacious and clean. With our a driver, we arranged a driver to transport us to/ from the Villa. Bellagio Taxi took us to Como to meet our train. All logistics were rather easy, and our stay in the Villa has been our best decision thus far. That majestic view -- we just loved it! Exactly as described by the owner. Grazie for the hospitality!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The villa is very elegant. It has the beauty of being an historical villa with all the modern comforts. It is well furnished with beautiful antiques, has high ceilings and beautiful large and spacious rooms. The location is stunning. Outside of the busy center of Bellagio but close to the peaceful small village of S.Giovanni (3 minutes by walking distance) where there is the Villa's boat dock, restaurant, small boutique grocer, coffee shop and wine bar and just 3 minutes to downtown Bellagio by car.

The beautiful porch over viewing the lake is magical. As soon as you arrive you find peace, nature and historical beauties. The Villa has a private dock just three minutes walking distance so that you can enjoy renting your boat and are able to dock it just a few steps from the Villa. Near the villa depart scenic trails with lovely walks that can take you to the summit of Mount St. First in order to fully appreciate the spectacle of the three branches of Lake Como and the newly discovered caves.
