Beautiful location, hosts were very nice but the room was extremely dirty! I booked well in advance for 3 people and when we arrived, it was like the room had not been cleaned for weeks and they were not expecting us! There was old urine stains/drips on, around toilet bowl and on floor. Sink had hair and grime all around and the shower was the worst. Tile has not been cleaned in a long time and sand and hair on the floor. The fridge/freezer smelled like death. Had to air out and open all windows. We had 1 bath towel, 2 forks, 1 knife, 1 plate for 3 people! Beds had 1 sheet, not even a blanket.I really wanted to love this place for the price point but it was just too dirty.

True Bahamian experience

We loved our short stay at the property . It’s a family owned place , with a restaurant / bar on site located on a beautiful beach . Accommodation is basic but clean , food was freshly cooked and delicious while at the same time very reasonable priced ( especially in comparison to most places in Exuma ) . The best thing about the place are its owners , such genuine and friendly people - we would come back and stay here in a heartbeat .

Great location for budget travelers

Right on the beach in a quiet part of the island. It's a family-run resort, and Betty, Margaret, and Amos made us feel welcome and at home. You can snorkel and kayak right off the beach. If you, like me and my wife, are happy to accept rustic facilities in exchange for a great price, a fantastic location, and a quiet friendly family-run atmosphere, this is the place for you. We had a rental car, and I highly recommend that for a stay of longer than a few days.

Great quiet part of the island. Loved our stay.

The listing stated a private home when it was actually a small apartment but the location made up for it. Beautiful beach! And the family is so friendly it made our stay wonderful.

We have a home on the island, but we needed a place to stay for 2 nights as we had guests at ours. We brought my daughter and her friend for their senior trip and the only request was to see the pigs. So we decided to stay up this way and hope to see the pigs without a tour. We pulled into the place and Margaret was there to greet us right away. We got settled and went down to the restaurant/bar and the locals were so incredibly friendly. Really good burgers and chicken there too. Amos took us out on his boat to see the pigs just across the island the next day. It was perfect and so glad we got to experience staying up there. Would do it again!

This place was a good stay. Away from the busier area. Right on the beach. The hosts were amazing and made us feel welcomed. I will definitely be staying here again.

The place is great and the owners treated me like family. I recommend everyone to stay at this place and enjoy the best that Exuma offers. Don’t forget about weekend nights at Cabanna Bar, Ms. Betty excellent cuisine and Mr. Marvin’s conch salad. I had a great time and will definitely come back.

Great value and amazing beach

The room was clean and comfortable. The beach was amazing and the food and drinks at the restaurant were delicious. The hosts went above and beyond to take care of us, even trying to light a fire to keep the mosquitoes away while we ate outside. They were also very kind and let us leave our bags in the room after check out while we went on an excursion. I would definitely recommend this property, especially if you are on a budget.

Beautiful beaches

Walked right out to the beach. Weather was beautiful. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. We were treated like family. Would go back again and again. Loved it.

A true hidden gem

Miss Betty made us feel like part of a family for a few days. Really the most lovely and authentic stay we could have dreamed of. The property is super clean, spacious and RIGHT on the beach. It’s truly a hidden gem and made this stay EXTRA special. Miss Betty and her family are really the best hosts and would recommend the stay to everyone

Its a nice quiet place. There is a lot of things for improvement, but its clean, safe and right on the most beautiful beach. Cute small restaurant on the property with a good food and fair prices. Best conch fritters. If you looking for 5 * go to the next door Sandals.

Amazing stay!

First off, Betty and her family are absolutely amazing! They made us feel so welcome and safe the entire stay. Our room was clean, nice and provided everything we needed for our stay! Location is great with an amazing beach just steps away. Kayaks were available, the cabana had amazing food and drinks. No reason to even leave the area. We will be back!

Beautiful spot and great value

We had a lovely 3 days at Betty’s place. It’s right on a gorgeous beach. The accommodations were basic but clean and comfortable. We enjoyed meeting people at the Cabanna bar and loved feeling like we were staying in a local Bahamian community instead of a touristy resort. It really gave us a chance to experience the warmth and friendliness of Bahamian culture. Betty and her sister were always available to assist and we had a chance to relax and chill with gorgeous weather and swimming.

This is a 2 star property with 4 star host. Local family offering a reasonably priced stay on a beautiful island where everything is expensive. This is on the far north end of the island. Renting a car here is wise. $45 taxi ride to the airport. Access to brewed coffee on site was not available. The water was gorgeous and their beach perfect although their beach chairs were the pits. Betty did make us a hamburger for dinner and it was delicious.

Private Beach to Ourselves

This home away from home is a small apartment with full kitchen among other family owened homes and apartments. Betty the host is wonderful and runs a kitchen beside a full beach bar where a handful of locals frequent. We had everything we needed, even a rental car and the whole beach to ourselves! Absolute Paradise for those not looking for a crowd. It was Perfect.

Unforgettable stay

From very warm welcome to easy on everything we've loved and enjoyed our stay very much. We've received a big room with large balcony and all essentials we need. we were worried that we will miss a stove.. But beleive me, You will never be able to beat Beatty's cooking at Cabanna bar. White sand beside of a lot of coconut palms slovly transferring to cerulean-fluorescent color of wather - that is very rear to see, but it is available here, if you stay here. Betty was proposing an aeroport pickup and car rental, that what we should do instead of a kissing a lock at aeroport rental becouse our flight has late for 15 min... Thank you Betty and your family, and hope to find a time to return back.

A big room with 2 beds a fridge and microwave. No covers or extra pillows, just a fitted sheet and sheet. Ants in bathroom. No breakfast at cabana as stated. Kids with sticks was hitting stray dog on property where my husband was laying in chair on beach and dog became angry and started snipping at my husband out of fear. No shampoo. Found a travel bottle of conditioner. Sliding door broken, very hard to open and close.no coffee pot. Large family lives here. A little bit more rustic than expected. Everyone friendly.

I would have to say that if you are looking for a high end stay, this is not the one for you but the price to stay says it all since it’s super cheap. Now, I will start by saying that the place was super clean and the hosts simply the best. From the second I arrived, I felt like family and treated as so. The way I felt and the quality of people and their familiarity reminded me of my childhood back in Cuba where everyone helped each other and the neighbors felt like a giant family. Personally I believe that what I received was way more than what I paid for. The beach was in its entirety for our group and the hosts also own a bar- restaurant by the water to serve all your needs. I can’t wait to go back I truly feel the good Bahamian style of life which is not present in places like Nassau. Rolleville in Exuma it’s a must visit for environmental lovers and people looking to simply disconnect from the noise. Betty and her sister will make sure you have the time of your life and Amos at the bar was simply the best. I can’t thank them enough for their kindness and for sure will see them again soon.

Exuma's Best Kept Secret is actually called 'The Bay Inn', at Rolleville, Exuma. The title is misleading for tourists as the taxi's (which you can catch at the airport on exit, turning right and walking for no more than 2 mins), are not familiar with Exuma's Best Kept Secret. The accommodation is terrible. Having had plenty of notice of my arrival, I was given a choice of two rooms, neither of which were cleaned, there was broken glass on the floor in one room and in the second room, the 'fresh' sheets were stained, the fridge needed cleaning and the furniture was dated with bits of who knows what on the surfaces. The bath and shower were covered in rust and limescale and the toilet was blocked on the first day. This required ME to plunge it and absolutely stunk then overflowed. Lovely start to the great awaited Bahamas holiday. The power on-site kept going out and with it so did the fridge, microwave, air-con, wi-fi and tv, so there was no ability to cook etc.. The Cabana Bar on-site is dark, dingy and full of flies, and the menu limited, especially for vegetarians. When the power went out the bar was closed when it shouldn't have been, so there was no hope of even having simple chips. Apparently the generator had 'blown up'...however this occurred persistently over a period of at least 8 days. The beach is overladen with broken sunloungers, sea-weed and capsized kayaks, so there were no watersports on-site. Thank you for ruining my holiday with false advertising.

Tolle Lage, wenig Ambiente

Das "best gehütete Geheimnis" ist, dass wir im Bay Inn wohnen. Das wurde uns von fewo direkt nicht mitgeteilt. Unter der Tel.nr. war auch niemand erreichbar, aber wir haben es schließlich gefunden. Das Zimmer ist sehr gross mit dem Charme eines Krankenhaus-Zimmers.leider war das Zimmer nicht gereinigt worden, erst am nächsten Tag nach mehrfachem Nachfragen. Es gab weder einen Schrank noch eine Ablage. Auch die Küchenuhtensilien waren spartanisch. Aber der Traumstrand direkt vor ser Haustür hat uns voll und ganz entschädigt.
