The Space:

This Rockaway Beach vacation home is perfect for that at-home feel while enjoying the Oregon Coast at its finest. Only a few minutes north of Rockaway Beach proper - easily walk-able on a beautiful day - this lovely getaway offers seclusion and privacy, as well as amazing views of the coast and its surrounding foothills.



This unique rental can be rented as a whole home, which can sleep sixteen people, or as two separate rentals which sleep eight apiece. Visit Sand Castle Sand Castle 2 for details about the individual units.



The gem of this property is its windows, with spectacular views of the water and sand from your living and dining area. The open living space offers a feeling of freedom and spaciousness, while maintaining a feeling of coziness. Enjoy a fireplace and a flat screen TV mounted on the wall with cable. The dining table seats six for family-style meals, or just a bag of chips and a book in the middle of the day.



Cook anything you please in your full kitchen with an island for extra space to spread out. With modern appliances and all the necessary accouterments, this home is ready for your favorite recipes, from the simple to the complex.



With six bedrooms and six bathrooms, all guests will enjoy privacy and personal space while remaining close and social. Four king-beds and eight twins means that everyone gets a real bed in a real room. Enjoy amenities like a washer/dryer in the house, a garage, a DVD player, an outdoor private hot tub, and WiFi. Dogs are welcome too,.

I’m a little torn on this review. Overall the house was nice and pretty much what we expected. It was right on the beach, but there were several things that I was disappointed in and you would not expect from a property that cost that much a night.First, and they don’t show you is that although it is by the beach, there is a tall rock wall between the house and the beach. It was fine for us, but there are 10 or so pretty rugged steps to go up and down to get to the beach. If someone was an elderly person or handicapped, I don’t think that they would be able to do it.We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the inside of the house. Most of it was OK, but the rug in the living room was all nasty with hair and everything on it and it had obviously not been vacuumed. The dishes were all dirty and had food on them and the silverware. Even some of the pans had to be washed before we could use them. The screens in both of the kitchen windows were completely torn out. Also, one of the toilet seats was completely broken. You could just lift it off the toilet so it was not usable. There was other stuff like all the fans in the bathroom had just nasty stuff hanging on them and the ceiling fan was nasty. I do realize it’s the beach house and I get that there’s gonna be some sand and stuff but for that price I would think they would do a better job of cleaning it.All in all, we had a great time and the house other than not being clean and stuff broke was as advertised.

We had 12 in our group. Everyone had a bedroom AND bathroom. Plenty of room!! The view, the hot tubs, beach access was wonderful. Had some maintenance issues with kitchen cabinet doors about to fall off. Some doors downstairs were hard to close.Dining room light did not work. But it did not stop us from enjoying our stay!!

Great location

The location was killer!! Amazing views and very quiet beach which was great for us and the low key relaxing vibe we were going for. Odd layout between the two duplexes but worked for us. A bit annoyed by the getting into the house as the locks were not easy to use nor clear easy instructions given, plus the reviews dating back to 2024 shared the same frustration, why has it not been fixed? Beach front homes I know are harder to manage but the screen doors were also hard to open and close. Overall a good experience and would go back assuming door and ability to access home would be easier. Would only rent both units not have another group in the other half. Also odd to not be able to access the back of the house without going through a bedroom or exiting the front to get to the back. Again, nit picky items.

Great house, poor maintenance

The owner(s) need to spend a week in the house and fix all the broken things. The house itself if fine and the location and footprint are exceptional. There are too many things that don't work. Also, we were not afforded anything in exchange for many inconveniences and disappointments. The front lock is frozen and takes way too much effort, assuming you ever get inside. Prior reviews ignored. Dishwasher, heater and other stuff broken. Late check-out not available. All take and no give. Great view, bad taste in my mouth.

Great location. Uncomfortable and small.

Getting into the house was terrible. Key pad code didn’t work and deadbolts were tricky. I had read this has been an ongoing problem. They need to be replaced. We were a big group and couldn’t all sit comfortably in living area. 2 of the 4 ovens were out of commission. Bedrooms and bathrooms were adequate. Was great to have full size washer and dryer. Location couldn’t be better.

Dream Beach Family Reunion

Great location, loved the beach privacy, the kitchen was comfortable to work in, loved the # of bedrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of bedding and towels, all were clean. We would come again.

Place was perfect. Check in was confusing.

Never got the code. Called main office 2x than got help from local office. Otherwise place was clean, well stocked, and location was perfect.

Nice property but we had trouble getting in

Location was fabulous and the place was clean. We rented both units. Spectacular views abound and access to the beach was quick and easy. The fact that every bedroom has its own bathroom was great. Kitchen well equipped and hot tubs were very nice. A few appliances were labeled as broken (one fireplace and one microwave) but since we rented both units, it wasn't a problem for us. The only real negative was that Vacasa didn't provide the correct access codes so we couldn't get in. I had called previously to get the codes which were not included in the email as promised, but then it turned out that they were wrong. Standing in the cold rain, we spent time on the phone with a person who was very polite and tried to be helpful but clearly did not know how to address the problem to allow us to get into the units. Finally, they sent a local Vacasa person to let us in. He came up with a workaround for us and demo'd how to use the locks. He was very good and came quickly, but of course, there should have been no need for this. Vacasa needs to A) actually send the correct codes and B) provide detailed instructions about how to unlock and lock the units. The two locks do not work exactly the same way and are not intuitive. Pro tip: Insist on getting this info if you book this property.

Couldn't be better located! Right on the beach, beautiful views from the kitchen and everything you need (for cooking, sleeping, laundry etc) right there! We loved it, would stay again in a heartbeat!

Great House

My bed was excellent. Bedside table was only so-so. There were NO drawers in my room. None at all. The rest of the family said their beds were excellent, too. Kitchen was best stocked of any we have ever stayed in, and very clean. I only wish there were some way to keep the birds from leaving deposits on the windows.

Beautiful view

The view is just beautiful and there is plenty of space! The fireplace is a nice touch and really warms up the room! Kitchen is well equipped. Some cobwebs and shower needed to be cleaned and blinds need to be replaced. One room didn’t have any blinds. The sliding doors are very hard to open and close but overall we enjoyed our stay

Family vacation

Fabulous time, however, 2 burners on one stove did not work, ice maker in 1 fridge not working. Mirror on closet door cracked. Afraid to close, it might crack more. One tub & shower drank plugged. Many slats missing from bedroom shades. Also couldn't close or open some. One light fixture broke. Kitchen cupboard door fell off, but son fixed that.

Perfect family vacation

This place was perfect for our large family. Loved the hot tub and the beach access right out the door. Loved having a bathroom for every family unit. Small little town is fun to explore. Not to far from Seaside, Tillamook, Cannon Beach. We loved it so much, we already reserved for next year!

The view was just as promised and right on the beach. There was a problem with the hot tub and the company sent someone right over. It would be perfect for two families. On a nice quiet street. There seems to be a few maintenance issues... the downstairs bathtub was not holding water when the stopper was down and not draining when the stopper was up. The upstairs toilet was not working properly. The hot tub cover kept wanting to blow off in the wind. The only thing missing is it sleeps 16 but there is no common room big enough for 16.

Amazing house

We had 5 family in this house. We had an amazing time. So easy to get to the beach. The house had so many windows you could just see beach and ocean for miles. Absolutely incredible views. We will definitely rent this house again. Perfect location. Accommodates large groups well and having 2 kitchens was great. The house was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend renting this house.

Fantastic

Was a great place for all of us. Plenty of room, right by the beach. Having a washer/dryer was a big plus with having our grandkids with us. Thank you and I hope we can do this again next year! Being able to bring our small dogs with us was great too.

11 family members stayed at Sandcastle for a week, and it was amazing! It was so great to have 2 kitchens, the beds were so comfortable, all those bathrooms, and the views were amazing. We would definitely stay there again!

Great beachfront location. Can watch the ocean from dining room, living room, and downstairs bedrooms. A few things broken, blinds missing slats, only one fireplace worked. Overall clean and very roomy! Loved the hot tub, large kitchen and beach right out back door. Washer/dryer was added bonus for our long stay. We will be back!
