Ria is the best VRBO host I have ever encountered. From the very beginning she was patient and informative with every question I had prior to booking. Before my arrival she kindly sent me a pin so I would know exactly where to go after my late night flight and surprised me with snacks.The condo was quiet and comfortable and the grounds and pool were even more beautiful than the pictures. The staff were exceptionally helpful checking me in late at night and gave me a ride into town to catch my shuttle when I checked out. I especially appreciated the dehumidifier in the condo and was really missing it when I went to Lake Atitlan.Perfect stay. I would love to visit again.

Very beautiful villa and nice staff! Ria’s place was nice and cozy. We had reliable Wi-Fi to work from home for 2 months ( both working from home , conference calls , downloading data etc ) Daily shuttle was very convincent and weekly cleaning . We would come Again!

Amazing experience!

I am glad I found this little place. Not so close to the hustle and bustle of the centre of Antigua. Walking distance is quite feasible, and the shuttle is available and very accommodating. The place is clean and welcoming. The staff is pleasant and always ready to assist you in any way they can. The host, Ria, is just amazing. She went out of her way to make this stay an amazing experience. For a first timer in Guatemala for a longer stay than usual, this place was for me a nest away from home. Thank you Ria.

Exceptional value, terrific service, clean, well stocked, great location, wonderful owers

We couldn't be happier with our choice in staying at Villa Valentina for one week in January. The owners went out of their way in providing excellent information, stocking the villa with food and beverages, providing transportation from airport and providing a very reasonable price for this wonderful condo. It is perfect size for 2 people (only one bed). We cannot speak more highly of the owners. Great people. The place was very clean and the location is a short walk from downtown. This is in a gated community of 66 charming condos. It is very quiet, well maintained and has great courtyards, gardens and pool area for enjoyable times outside. The security guards and drivers are very nice and do a great job in keeping it very secure. It was refreshing to leave the noisier, busier hustle and bustle of Antigua which is full of tourists, to come to the villa which is located outside of downtown area but still only a 10 minute walk to main plaza. We would only request more towels and washcloths along with but other than that, everything was perfect. Hope we were good guests so we can come back! We did break one glass but the owners were really cool about the boo-boo. Would not work for people with disabilities as the bedroom is upstairs and there are stairs at the outside entrance.

Best Place in Antigua - our accomodation of choice

Antigua is a beautiful colonial city but it isn’t cheap, for our sanity this house and complex was an idea home away, we could self-cater and it felt like home. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, the gardens were lovely, private and safe with lots of lovely areas to sit and watch the every changing seasons. This included t a well maintained and warm swimming pool, the condition was immaculate and set in a lovely seating area. A great sanctuary after the crazy cobbled streets of Antigua. Close to the pool was a gas BBQ that was ALWAYS in pristine condition, the cleaning and grounds staff always made sure it was ready to use. The complex rocked! Attentive polite staff, brilliant security, staff that took their jobs seriously, particularly the guardhouse. The complex was walled but in no way did it feel isolated or closed off, there was always someone patrolling the grounds or within earshot. A bonus that is shared amongst all the residents is a shuttle into Antigua and back. We walked, it isn’t far but if you have done some shopping, its late of tired it is a very generous service that is provided. It isn’t always at call, sometimes patience is required and you may have to wait but it is such a godsend at times. The complex has washers and dryers at a cost – you may buy tokens at the office during daytime hours. It isn’t great value but is convenient and possibly comparable to getting a laundry to do it in the street. This pricing is set by the complex. Now for the lovely owners Ria and Carlos, they are the gold standard for property owners! Generous, kind, warm and great at anticipating what someone may need in a home away from home. The casita was cute, well equipped, comfortable and cleaned to a very high standard once a week. Ideal for a couple or single – we particularly loved it as we could cook and chill in our own space. If there was any problems both Ria and Carlos were very responsive, from what I recall there is nothing to note. Ria was also kind in providing any help or information which was useful in finding our feet in our adopted country. During the week the complex was quiet – occasionally during the weekend it could get noisy but generally security would quieten down anyone that was loud late at night. Any problems with noise and a quick call the guard house and they would keep it under control. When we return to Antigua to top up or Spanish this would be our accommodation of choice.

Excellent stay!

We stayed here for 5 weeks (we ended up extending from 4 weeks because we liked it so much!). It was the perfect space for what we needed. My spouse was able to work remotely - the internet connection was great. Ria was so easy to communicate with and the security/admin team is great. The pool area is a nice plus! We would recommend staying here :)

Perfect stay in Antigua

We had a wonderful time. Ria was sweet as candy, and her home was clean and pristine. The bed was incredibly soft, the WiFi was fast and reliable, the kitchen was fully loaded, and the entire complex of condominiums was clean and beautiful. There was a cleaning every week, and laundry service on site, as well as a pool. It’s only a 10 minute walk from the center of town, and it’s right on the main road, yet there were beautiful views of the surrounding hills all around the complex. Highly recommend!

My favourite stay in all of Antigua!

I absolutely loved Rias unit and this entire property. This is my second time staying at the villas and am sure to come back in the future. The property is beautiful + well maintained, wifi is fast + reliable and Rias home is stocked with all the household items you need. The villas are a short, safe walk into town (about 15 mins to the main square) and if you don’t feel like walking there is a free shuttle service which is extremely convenient for when you need things like groceries. The staff is super friendly and Ria was incredibly responsive to any request. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you Ria!

Perfect place for a solo traveler!

I am a volunteer in Guatemala for six weeks and wanted to stay in a safe, comfortable and reasonably priced place. Ria was extremely helpful and friendly. We had the chance to meet and I really enjoyed our conversations. The property is beautifully landscaped, pool was fabulous, grounds keepers were friendly and the people living/staying there were always pleasant. I highly recommend this property and in particular being able to know that Ria is there to help. I will stay here again!

Perfect relaxing oasis, still close to everything Antigua

This residence exceeded my expectations! Not only are the grounds beautiful, clean and quiet, but the bedding is soft and comfortable, the hot water and water pressure were perfect, and the living area felt homey too. It was so easy to use the on-site shuttle anytime. I also walked into town. At the end of a busy day in the bustling town, it was so nice to be only minutes to quiet relaxation here in my own “home!” Oh and don’t forget the heated pool/perfect at night, especially! Everyone was attentive to my needs and smiled and made the stay feel fantastic!

Very beautiful place that's nice and peaceful

Pictures do not do it justice. This place is beautiful. The grounds were always clean with flowers growing everywhere. Ria is top notch. She exceeded our expectations with her hospitality. We loved coming back to this villa every night after a day of walking around Antigua. The pool was nice and relaxing and the outside seating areas were nice. We highly recommend this villa to anyone wanting to visit Antigua but doesn't want the noise. Thank you Ria.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying in different Villas on the property but this one will for ever stand out to me the most. The villa is fully equipped in everything you may need for your stay. Making your stay feel just like home. The owner Ria welcomed us with a lovely note at the villa providing us with a phone to be able to communicate out here (best minor detail wish more ppl would do) and her husbands personal number In case we needed anything. Location is perfect and if needed the property has a free shuttle to drive you in and out of Antigua. Thank you Ria and Carlos for allowing us to stay at your lovely home.

It was a little paradise.

The music they played for hours, mainly on the weekends, was annoying at 11:00 at night, but other than that, we enjoyed out stay. The swimming pool, which was opened most days was glorious.

Perfect Place to Stay

From the personalized touches for our honeymoon, to the constant communication and answering of questions before and during the trip- this home was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay. The home was neat, clean and well stocked for our week. We felt very safe and appreciated the shuttle to and from the city! I highly recommend this home for your next trip to Antigua!

First class in every way

After a busy week of traveling in northern Guatemala, it was refreshing to meet the charming owner of this villa, Ria. She graciously made time to meet us at our hotel and drive us to the property, which is just beyond the perimeter of colonial Antiqua. The property is gorgeous. Absolutely first class. As described, the unit is part of a small, private complex; yet, it is quaint and intimate. The unit itself is comfortable and well appointed. The walk to and from town was convenient and it felt safe. I’d say it takes 15-20 minutes to get to the center with breaks to look in the shops and cafes along the way. A free shuttle service is provided as well (a pleasant surprise!). My girlfriend and I are experienced travelers - if we return to Antigua, we’ll try to stay here first. Thank you, Ria!

I moved from the Netherlands to wonderful Guatemala in 1999 for a job, feeling truly at home here. I decided to live in the beautiful town of Antigua, and this is how I ended up buying this lovely place. While the villa was built, I met my (now) husband Carlos and the plans to move into the studio changed, as we soon saw our family completed with our daughter and dogs - we just wouldn't fit. We now live in a small village nearby, Pastores, and it's easy for us to swing by if you need anything. I want the villa to be everything I personally wish for when renting such a property or going on vacation, so suggestions for improvements are always welcome and will be addressed whenever possible. Carlos and I really wish for you to enjoy Antigua and Guatemala for a reasonable price, and simply feel at home. We hope to welcome you soon.

What I most love about the villa is its proximity to the city center of Antigua, combined with the comfort, quietness and beauty the place provides. The villa has all you may need, and the condominium has beautiful areas to sit down and relax or work. The heated pool and wine cellar provide additional options for relaxation.
