Welcome to this historic and beautifully decorated Main St home in Madison, IN that sleeps 8 guests comfortably with 4 bedrooms, 2 full and 2 half baths! Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, coffee bar, games, fast WiFi, and plenty of space to relax. Steps from shops, dining, bars, the Ohio Riverfront, 6 minutes to Clifty Falls State Park and 12 minutes to Hanover College. Perfect for families, couples, and groups seeking charm, comfort, character, with the best Main St location.

Featuring four beautifully designed bedrooms (2 king beds, 1 queen, and 1 full), and 4 bathrooms, this spacious Main Street home is the perfect retreat for relaxation and exploration. Step inside and you’ll be welcomed by thoughtful décor that blends modern comfort with historic Madison charm. This is a two-story home. There is a king and full bed downstairs and a king and queen bed upstairs, with bathrooms on both levels.

This home offers everything you need for an unforgettable stay. Unwind in the roomy, stylish living areas, or prepare meals with ease in the fully equipped kitchen. Start your morning at the coffee bar, enjoy time together with the family-friendly games, and take advantage of the ample space to spread out and feel at home.

Whether you're strolling along the Ohio Riverfront, visiting local shops and restaurants just steps away, or exploring nearby attractions like Clifty Falls State Park and Hanover College, this centrally located Main Street escape delivers comfort, convenience, and the perfect Madison experience.
We welcome all fur friends for an additional fee! If staying with your pet, please bring some pet waste bags with you. Please note, this home does not have off-street parking, like most homes downtown. Parking is strictly street parking. There is typically ample parking in front of the house on Main St or on the side of the house on East St.

Stairs are required for second level bedrooms. There are two bedrooms (king and full sized bed) on the main level.

*Please note - we do allow early check-in and late checkout when our schedule permits, however there is a $30 flat fee added to your stay prior. Our cleaners work very hard and have many houses to clean. This fee is charged to accommodate rearranging their schedule*

We took a girls trip to Madison and this was the perfect house and location. Walking distance to everything, very clean, plenty of space, and the hosts were more than accommodating on everything. Highly recommend this property!

The home is beautiful. The kitchen was stocked nicely for our stay. The location was perfect, close to everything.Heads up, most of the shops and restaurants are closed on both Monday and Tuesday, leaving no choice but to drive a bit to find restaurants open.We would definitely go back to this property.

We LOVED staying at The Main Stay! It is more beautiful than pictures and in a great location. There is plenty of room and amenities. The host was very accommodating and helpful- made some great recommendations! We will definitely consider coming back if have large group!

Very spacious and well situated within walking distance to downtown Madison. Also very quiet space where most outside noise is not noticeable. Clean and tidy. Pet friendly. The space and size was actually better than photos, a really great overall experience!

We so enjoyed staying here. It's a beautiful home, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was really easy to walk all around Madison. The host was very responsive when we had questions before check in. If we go back to Madison we'll stay here again.

We had an excellent time at The Main Stay for our group of 4. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious, and very comfortable. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and coffee bar. The comfortable bedrooms had plenty of space for everyone.

Street parking was great on the side street or in front. House was very well thought out & beautifully decorated. Everything was so clean and smelled nice. We love the area where we could walk or drive just a few minutes for shopping and restaurants. Only an hour drive to one of the best wineries & pizza in the state - Holtkamp Winery! And less drive time to another good one - Streamcliff where they have a cafe, plants for sale and winery!

BEAUTIFUL home! Perfect for our family for graduation. Very spacious. Plenty of street parking. Walking distance to lots of places. Host was very friendly and immediately answered any questions I had. I couldn’t think of anything else they could possibly do to make our stay any nicer. (other than adding a Hanover coffee mug to the kitchen)

Very pleased with this property! It was even better than the pictures. There are two bedrooms on each floor and 1 full and 1 half bathroom on each floor as well. The master bedroom on the 1st floor had a very comfortable foam mattress and my sisters said their beds very also quite comfortable. It is very spacious. We did cook one meal in the kitchen and had everything we needed… new cookware, baking sheets, utensils, salt/pepper and oil. We had a lovely time at The Main Stay and would certainly recommend it!

Great place. Everything we needed and well maintained. Lots of space.We did have street noise during the night, (trucks and motorcycles), which was surprising for weekdays.Walkable location to the river, shops and food.We will return, if in the area again.

This historical home is a beautiful property and the hosts do a good job of ensuring a comfortable stay. The mattresses in all five bedrooms are amazing. We noticed the openness of the spaces...there's not a lot of unnecessary knick-knacks setting around, which allows the historical aspects of the property to show well. We were able to keep the property cool in the heat and humidity of southern Indiana in July and we were grateful for that. Being located right on the Main Street in town made it easy to access the many cute shops and stores. The host helped me find a quality florist and bakery for our week of celebration. We appreciated the minimalist approach but would have appreciated a few basics like Kleenex and a waste basket in each bathroom. But this is certainly a 5-star property and I highly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home in the heart of Madison. The property has been meticulously restored, blending historic charm with modern amenities and conveniences. The rooms are spacious, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the linens were high quality, making for a very relaxing stay.The home would be perfect for a large family gathering, yet it was equally comfortable for just the three of us. The location was excellent, allowing easy access to everything Madison has to offer.Our only minor suggestion would be to provide some unflavored coffee, basic creamers, and bottled water for guests. Those small touches would have elevated an already wonderful stay to an exceptional, 5-star-plus experience.Overall, we highly recommend this property and would gladly stay here again.
