Blue Hummingbird Cabin is nestled between Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain! Enjoy the home’s seasonal mountain views with a spacious, fully fenced-in backyard (bring the pups!) while roasting marshmallows (provided!) in a swing by the fire pit. The cabin also includes a game room with a Pac-Man arcade, board games, and more. Located ~2 miles from Downtown Banner Elk, 5 mins to Banner Elk Winery, and 25 mins to Boone. A wonderful getaway to make memories with family and friends.

A perfect spot to land to celebrate 2 wedding anniversaries with our family. This home had it all-lovely porch, sunroom, outdoor space and a huge yard for our fur babies. Thoughtful touches included smores, koozies and plenty of coffee options. Incredibly close to town-absolutely recommend if you’re headed to the mountains

Great Getaway

Second time this year at the cabin. This time, just two of us and our pup. Great weather allowed for great hikes in the area and the cabin was a terriffic spot to come back to to unwind and relax. We lounged around the fire pit and allowed the pup to take in the natural (peaceful) surroundings.

Fabulous fall getaway

This cabin was perfect for our family of 8. Pictures did not do it justice. Much larger than I expected! Super clean and well appointed with everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed fire pit and back porch in the evening. Check in and out we’re super easy and Cadie was super host! We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area!

Great place to stay with dogs!

Our primary reason for going to Banner Elk was for our two Golden Retreivers to have a doggy vacation and to hopefully see snow. We didn't get to see snow except for a small patch near the dog park but we had a nice time anyway and the log home is a great place especially the fenced back yard for our boys to run around in. They really enjoyed one of the neighbor's dogs coming to visit every day outside the fence. The home is very comfortable and cozy with a great wood burning fireplace. We would definitely stay here again!

Retreat tucked in the Mts.

Great log cabin that has it all. Game room for entertainment, cozy family room for a night by the fireplace, and great dining space for meals. The bedrooms were so spacious and comfy, great for unwinding after a day on the mountain. We stayed in the winter, so loved the backyard space for playing in the snow. It wasn't enough for sledding, but the hill back there seemed to be perfect for it when there is lots of snow. Loved it!

Best Vacay Ever!

It was absolutely amazing! Everything you could ever want or need in one spot. The only thing lacking was more time. A gorgeous setting in a beautiful, friendly town. My family gathered to spend a serene Christmas together and enjoy the birth of our lord. A perfect setting for an imperfect family. Something for everyone. The owner is the best host!

First Snow Memories

This Log Cabin is the exactly what your looking for when you vacation to Banner Elk. The cabin has everything your famiky will need for a weekend to remember forever. The Game Room is a big hit for the kids and kids at heart. Cadie is a excellent host and quick to answer any questions.. We had 10 inches of snow during our stay the kids loved sheding down the hill in the back yard... this is truly a great place to stay. Looking forward to returning next year.

Wonderful mountain getaway weekend

This house has everything we needed - barring a power outage for the entire area that lasted about 8 hrs - no fault of theirs - it hit every business and home Saturday but we made the most of it and took the kids out to a kite festival- lost everything frozen in the freezer but we survived thanks to our host who stayed on top of the issue with the power company and kept us informed . Thanks Casie for being a super Host!

Perfect family spot!

This home is lovely and well appointed. There is a space for everyone in the family! We enjoyed the game room, the fire pit, and the large, fenced back yard. Super clean on arrival, and check in was a breeze. Communication with Cadie from booking through checking out on our last day was impressive. She sent messages with information/recommendations that were personalized to our specific family situation. I appreciated her attention to detail and prompt responses to my messages. We would absolutely stay again!

Gals get away

We gals so enjoyed the past three days at this wonderful cabin. Your well stocked and comfortable cabin proved to be the perfect spot for a college girlfriends reunion. We enjoyed the close proximity of Banner Elk as well as a fun trip to Blowing Rock. The fire pit took the chill off of Tuesday evening as we sat outside recalling old memories and making new ones. Kadie and Derek, you have thought of everything to make your guests feel welcomed. We especially appreciated the fire sticks that helped get our fire going. We didn't want for a thing during our stay! Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin.

Lovely Cabin for Family and dogs

This has been our favorite place when visiting our son in Banner Elk. The cabin has everything you need and some little extras. My son forgot his toothbrush and found a new one in bathroom. Kitchen was supplied with Kcups and other little extras. Game room was favorite for kids to hang out and the fenced in back yard was perfect for our two dogs. Definitely highly recommend! Well worth it!

Amazing cabin

Went up to the cabin to give our 3 young boys an opportunity to see some snow and tube at Sugar Mountain. The cabin was simply perfect. The boys thoroughly loved the bunk room and the game room. Cadie shows her attention to detail and thoughtfulness. While we didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit due to rain during the evening, all the ingredients to make s’mores where already at the house. Even having zip lock bags and batteries stocked. The cabin was great for our dog as well. Great proximity to downtown Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Banner Elk/Sugar Mountain.

Cozy and Comfortable Mountain Cabin

This cabin was absolutely perfect! My husband and I - the old folks- met my daughter, son-in-law, and our two grandchildren - the young folks - here for a few days of vacation together. There was something for all of us - hiking, adventure trips and other outdoor activities for the young ones and leisurely walks and visits to local wineries for us older grandparents! We spent a lot of time swinging and rocking on the two cabin porches. One night we gathered around the fire pit and made s’mores! Best part was everything was provided for us! The kitchen was well stocked with anything we could possibly need. Cadie had thought of everything to make our time at the cottage a memorable family vacation! Highly recommend Blue Hummingbird Cabin!

Perfect cabin in the mountains

My family (grandparents, parents, and 4 kids ages 5-11) loved our stay at this mountain cabin. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The bedrooms were generously sized. The kids loved the game room, and exploring the woods behind the house. There is a nice little place to hike and climb rocks right behind the house. The linens looked brand new. The kitchen was well stocked with every cookware possible. It was very convenient to town. We could be at Sugar Mountain, the Alpine Coaster, or Crabtree Waterfall to hike in less than15 minutes. We all had a great time. That being said, there are a few things to note. The house is an actual log cabin, so there is no insulation between the ceiling/floor of the 2 levels. When you are upstairs you can hear everything downstairs and vice versa. There are very nice ceiling fans and heaters available though to mask any noise. We had 8 people with us, and there is only seating in the living room for 5. It didn't bother us, as the kids watched TV in the game room, but if you are expecting family movie night for more than 5, plan on pulling in seating from another room. Lastly, the neighbors dog is at the property all the time. She is very sweet (...and I'm NOT a dog person...) and plays well with the kids. It was actually a bit comforting to have her go into the woods with the kids. She will be standing at the door ready to come in with you and not far from you the whole time you are outside. Again, she is very sweet and isn't brushing up against you or jumping on you, but if you have a dog that doesn't like others, just know that she WILL be around. With all that being said, we had a lovely stay and would come here again in a heartbeat!
