The host has property listed between Vrbo and third party sites and allegedly another customer had booked dates on third party site but Vrbo site let me book as well, allegedly!I was able to book My card was charged for a 2 week stay, which was my entire lodging budget for our family vacation,I also purchased property protection insurance for the stay which is a requirement by the host, no problem.. however, I didn’t get the money back for this protection, the host also told me to call Vrbo to resolve it because host couldn’t do anything on their end. In the process of being out of town with my family and kids I spent the next 2-3 days and hours on phone with support but they said host had to cancel booking once the pending charge was final, this took days, once charge was final the host claimed that canceling wasn’t possible in their end, at this time I called once again and Vrbo escalated the issue to management ,After a lot of time, effort and jumping through hoops to find resolve in getting my refund I was put in touch with a Vrbo manager that was helpful in getting this sorted out, Although, it took me two weeks to get my money refunded. It was a nightmare and I was traveling with my family so we were put out of lodging money for our trip,as a result, accommodation’s were few and options very expensive. I lost out on money for the protection insurance my money was taken and my family suffered because we had to ultimately cut the trip short
