<u>Location and Surroundings:</u>
The district of Regalheiras (municipality of Lavos) is located in central Portugal on the Atlantic coast and is part of the city of Figueira da Foz, which features an impressive bridge over the Rio Mondego River. The area is characterized by kilometers of fine sandy beaches. In addition to numerous shopping opportunities and restaurants/cafés, Figueira da Foz also boasts various museums and even a casino. Notable attractions in the immediate vicinity include the Serra da Boa Viagem Nature Reserve with the Cabo Mondego viewpoint, the Conimbriga archaeological site, and the city of Coimbra—including its university, one of the oldest in Europe, with the impressive Biblioteca Joanina. We also recommend a visit to the famous Catholic pilgrimage site of Fátima and the 14th-century monastery complex in Batalha. We find it interesting to browse the authentic Portuguese markets in Tocha or Louriçal (every Sunday) and Maiorca (on the 17th and 28th of every month).
